Overview

Released in September 2005, Hinder's Extreme Behavior revives the riffs and misogynistic tone of 2001 albums from Puddle of Mudd and Nickelback for a whole new batch of undergrads. This isn't so much post-grunge as it is straight-up dude rock. The artwork is a triggered response collage of lingerie and Jäger, and the music blares like a stereo left on in the keg room, all swear words and electric guitar blab. Hinder singer Austin Winkler is a stand-in for Nickelback's Chad Kroeger, and his lyrics? Like the chorus of lead single "Get Stoned" that asserts sex is better when the participants are angry and high, Winkler doesn't show a lot of class on Behavior. Hinder do try a little tenderness here and there. They sound like a heavier Wallflowers on "Nothin' Good About Goodbye," and "Lips of an Angel" carries the power ballad torch complete with a soaring solo stolen from hair metal's golden era. "Homecoming Queen" is another take on the good-girl-tarnished-by-big-bad-L.A. story; it's also a pretty obvious rewrite of Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child o' Mine." For the most part, Hinder are all about big dumb rock, the kind of stuff that's happily ignorant of common courtesy or trying much of anything new musically. [The album was also issued in a clean version.]

I haven't found an album that I liked EVERY song on like this one since Led Zeppelin. Not comparing them to Zeppelin but I really enjoy this.

Hinder is huge. I love Hinder to death! Austin Winkler has one of the best voices I've heard in a long time. Plus...he's hott...with two T's. Oh yeah...anyway...back to the review. Even though they cuss quite a few times, their songs still rock. This album will be a classic in 10 years because it's already a classic now. Their timing is genius and their look couldn't be better. I will still love Hinder when I'm 80 years old, even if they totally make an album that sucks, I will always have it bad for Extreme Behavior...hey, go home...get stoned...

Alright. If you enjoy rock (mainstream or whatever) you will really enjoy this CD. A mix of all kinds of emotions in every song gives something to everyone. Harmonies and tunes of the songs are amazing as well as foot-tapping. So go out and buy it!

A very repetitive cd but still good. One of the bands that is keeping rock alive. Cant wait for their second release.

Ok i give every band at least one chance to prove they are good, and normally its at a concert cause you cant be a good band if you cant play live. I didnt mind get stoned when i heard it on the radio so, i was kinda lookin forward to seein them live. They absolutley sucked, the singer acts like a rock start more than real rock stars do (im sorry but you have to earn that kind of status), the guitaring was always a little off, seemed to be off pace. Besided the two little radion hits (that they probably got help writing) this cd is just horrible. Avoid this band at all cost, they are the exact opposite of a good rock band.

A mix of 80s metal with 90s grunge. Great album, great lyrics, great guitar. Best album I have heard in a long time. Listen to it, you won't be disappointed.

Hinders' Extreme Behaviour definately deserves 5 stars. It is one of the best albums I have heard in a long time. Every song is excellent and very catchy. The vocals and band are great. This is a must buy CD, not a waste of money at all.
