Eye of the Storm is the second book in Amy McKinley’s Gray Ghost series! I dived straight into it after finishing the first book as I had fallen in love with Amy’s storytelling ways! Even though the stories can be read as standalone, do yourself a favour and read the first book as well as you will enjoy Eye of the Storm even more once you have done it. Amy continues with her smooth storytelling and emotional rollercoaster, there are twists and turns that you do not see coming and just imagine, it is all happening in the wilderness of Colombian jungle! The writer is so meticulous with how she describes the jungle, how her characters come across and boy, the secrets … they are like a cherry on top of the cream! I loved how Amy gave us two strong and independent (and stubborn) characters (Mari and Chris) that make the story unforgettable! How can you give the story a cold shoulder when there is action, emotion and …. Secrets … but I already said that! So, pick up a copy and run away to the jungle with Marie and Chris and maybe, just maybe, you will return in one piece!

Eye of The Storm by Amy McKinley a four-star read that will create a storm. This is the second book In the Gray Ghost series and it could be read as stand-alone, I have read it as part of the series and enjoyed it as such. This series just gets better and better, the twists and turns are becoming so fast paced that it could be too much, but the author has a great way of reigning it in just enough to make you need to read the next page without finding it too much. The jungle descriptions are very well done and make you feel like you are struggling to survive them, like you are running from the cartel along side Chris, not knowing who to trust and if you will survive. What a great read, I cant wait for book three.

Eye of the Storm (A Gray Ghost Novel Book 2) by Amy McKinley 5 Stars I have been so looking forward to this book. I absolutely loved the first one and knew this would be be just as good and I was right… I loved how this story started out and I usually get upset when it takes a few pages to figure out what is going on but in this one it was all part of the build up that needed to happen to appreciate it all. I loved every word in this book, there was no filler added anywhere, every single page was a needed addition and I so appreciate that in my books. I love all of the characters in this story, I do hope I get a little more about Hannah in either the next book or books to follow, theres alot of questions I have about her and I can't wait to find all of those answers. It was nice revisiting Liv just a bit and getting some updates about her and I'm truly hoping that this series will continue for many books to come. I sincerely love the writing style of this author and will be one clicking any and everything she has available from this point forward. You absolutely could read this as a standalone but I don't recommend it as the first in this series gives you the background you need about this team and not to mention its just awesome!! Highly recommend!! Loved It!!

Mari's jaunt through the jungle is no tourist's safari. She's escaped from the ruling drug cartel leader. Now she has to stay free and get to another country. Another woman fleeing helps her on the condition she returns the favor. The person in need of help is hanging upside-down in a tree from a parachute. He's in a bad way with a head wound and no memory. All she has to do is get him down. Nurse him back to health. And talk him into protecting her as they escape. Sure no problem. A little white lie or two can't hurt. Right? Chris feels a connection and gladly helps this strong capable beautiful woman. How can he not remember her? Their journey is filled with dangerous men and an even more deadly jungle. Will he get his memory back? If so, will he abandon her when he learns the truth? Can she have real feelings for any man after her experience with the cartel? This is a life-threatening journey with trust necessary but so are the lies, aren't they? Will they overcome the dangers around them and those they are keeping from each other? A page-turner with a strong, self-reliant woman and a deadly man in an unlikely place to fall in love. The steam is not just from the jungle. There is much more but if I told you I'd have to kill you or so those in the secrets business say. Read this action filled book and learn it all for yourself. Eye of the Storm by Amy McKinley is the second novel in her Gray Ghost Series, and what a great follow up in this already awesome series. Following Chris and Mari, we as readers find our readers in a Jungle with a sexy alpha male who can't remember a thing about who he is until Mari tells him his name. This place is full of danger, danger that Mari knows all too well, and she is willing to do whatever it takes to get out of this alive and is taking Chris with her. As Chris remembers pieces of his life, he realizes that Mari is more than meets the eye and is a strong independent woman who he can't let go. As things get steamy in the jungle, fighting for their lives in a game of cat and mouse raises the stakes higher and higher. Will they make it out alive? Will their relationship survive if they do? Having read McKinley in the past, I knew going into this one that I was going to like this book, and while this is a part of a series this book can stand alone so there is no back reading needed to get caught up. If you are looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat while simultaneously fanning yourself from the heat, than this is the book for you!

Eye of the Storm (A Grey Ghost Novel Book 2) by Amy McKinley is the second book in her A Grey Ghost series. I highly recommend reading the first book to help your enrichment of this series. I enjoyed the first book and I enjoyed the second book a little bit more. This author's books get better and better with each one that I read. Her writing style is engaging and the plot is easy flowing. Her attention to details are such that they made me feel like I was right there with the characters. Her characters are strong, lovable, and connectable. They took me on an emotional roller coaster ride of various emotions. There are some twists and turns in this book that I didn't see coming but yet left me sitting on the edge of my seat. This story takes place in the jungle and it is as unforgiving as a jungle can be. Chris Shaw opens his eyes only to find himself hanging in a tree upside down, only to black out again. The second time he opens his eyes, he finds himself staring into the eyes of a beautiful woman. He has no idea who he is or where he is until she calls him by his name. He wonders if he can trust her. Mari Dias has some secrets of her own but she maybe his only hope of survival. The drug cartel is after him but he may not be the only one they are after. They have on mission, to get to sanctuary but what will happen when revenge becomes more important? Can they battle the storm that is raging or will they find shelter? I enjoyed all the characters in this book. They are strong, independent and controlling. Chris knows how to take control over a situation and make it work for him. Mari has secrets that could destroy her hopes of happiness. She has skills that some men don't have with weapons that make her dangerous. What will happen to them when her secrets are revealed? The story pretty much surrounds these two characters, there a couple of evil secondary characters that come into play. I would say they are a necessary evil that make the story flow into the thriller that it is. I highly recommend you read this book and find out what happens to Chris and Mari.

Reviewed by Jack Magnus for Readers' Favorite Eye of the Storm: A Gray Ghost Novel, Book 2 is a suspense novel written by Amy McKinley. Mari knew she had to get out of Colombia, far away from the childhood friend who had become her worst enemy. She had been headed toward Panama when an armed pursuer began herding her in the wrong direction. Mari was tired and smaller than her pursuer, and while she would go down fighting, and preferably take him along with her, she still hoped beyond hope for a chance to escape. It came in the most unlikely way. Mari heard the whine of a bullet and a thump as the pursuer fell. Her rescuer was a tall, pale-skinned, blonde woman, whose imperious mannerisms made the grateful and exhausted Mari bristle. Her name was Hannah, and she had a deal for Mari. Mari would pay off the debt of Hannah having saved her life by nursing a wounded man back to health. They found him dangling upside down from a tattered parachute that had been caught in the forest canopy. When he came to, Hannah had vanished, leaving Mari with the man who was supposed to help her leave the country. But could she trust him to do that? Amy McKinley’s Eye of the Storm: A Gray Ghost Novel, Book 2 is a fast-paced and exciting novel that takes the reader deep into the jungles of Colombia as Mari and Chris fight to stay alive and evade the guerrillas who have been charged with capturing and returning her to the brutal head of the Ramirez cartel. I envied them the beauty of the jungle setting even as they had to contend with a pesky fer de lance snake and other jungle hazards, and enjoyed seeing the two of them form a working and effective partnership. While Eye of the Storm is the second book in this series, the two books can be read independently of each other. That said, I’d advise reading both of them. Broken Circle, the first book in the series, is a marvelous thriller, and I delighted in recognizing the Gray Ghosts and appreciated how neatly the entwined plots worked together. Eye of the Storm: A Gray Ghost Novel, Book 2 is most highly recommended.
