R . I . P . Layne Staley This is my favorite AIC album of all time...the song ''we die young'' is so appropriate for now.

By far, this is my all time favorite AIC album (Music Bank doesn't count). I'm listening to this right now. It really captures the sound that AIC would become known, but not known enough, for. Dirt was good, but this just destroys it. I didn't enjoy AIC's material this much until their self-titled album. Buy this album, you won't regret it.

I love this CD. It is a classic A.I.C. CD because it show the raw power of the early years of grunge, before it was all commecialized and corporate like Nirvana's Nevermind.Songs like 'man in the box' were great singles that are still played tody, and There are songs like 'we die young' and ' I ain't like that'that have heavy riffs, with Staley's rhaspy voice. I love this CD, and RIP Layne Staley 1964-2000

The vocalist has an excellent voice, kinda spooky. The guitars and drums are very very excellent! The first tracks "We Die Young" and "Man in the Box" are true classics and so is "Love, Hate, Love" which one has very sad lyrics. "Sea of Sorrow", "Bleed the Freak" and "It ain't like That" are also true Alice in Chains! Different kind of metal! The rest of the songs are too simple ones and that's why this album doesn't make an effection for me.

For the price of about est. $20.00 I got both Facelift and Dirt. The sound quality is excellent and both albums have all of my favourite songs. Music is the real gift that keeps on giving.

In the beginning, most individuals would not have thought that a band like "Alice in Chains" would have attained popularity like it did. Starting from the Seattle scene, Alice in Chains proved these people wrong (Critics, and so called music experts). With Layne Staley's voice, and Jerry Cantrell's guitaring talent, the band managed to become a name in the music business. Songs like "Man in the Box" and "We Die Young" helped to establish a basehold for Alice in Chains. Other songs such as "Sunshine", "Love Hate Love", and the spiffy "Put you Down" layed the cement to the groundwork that is this CD. All the songs are well done, and one can clearly distinguish the talent that the band broadcasted as they played there music. Definitly a must have for any Alice in Chains enthusiast and a good start for anyone new in the Alice in Chains genre.
