About the Author
I love to write! Which is a good thing, because no matter what I'm doing, my brain edits sentences, selects or discards words, equivocates over paragraph formation. My file cabinet is stuffed with folders full of ideas, scenes, and half-finished work. My favorite part of writing is description. I want my readers to see, smell, hear, and feel what is going on in the story as if they are there. I can't think of many things as wonderful as those hours when words are pouring through my head and spilling out onto the page, creating a physical world full of passionate people! Other pursuits have taken up parts of my life--a technical profession for a career, children, questionable progress in learning to watercolor. I enjoy cooking, gardening, and time at the Pacific coast. Sunrise and sunset create special moods for me, the twilight between two worlds--fully of creative energy. Most of all, I love snuggling up with a good book.

Reviewed by Natasha Jackson for Readers' Favorite Cara has suffered the tragic loss of her husband and she isn’t jumping back into love again. Ever. Instead, Cara has dedicated herself to a new relationship: her business. Cara’s Kitchen will be her new marriage and she is just about ready with her recipes perfected; all she needs is to finish the remodel on the perfect rock house. But one morning she arrives to see that someone has made a muddy mess of the yard and she is none too pleased. From the moment she meets Morgan, though, sparks fly. At first they are of the angry variety, but the attraction is there…if only they were ready for it. In Faint Heart, author Lizzie Ashworth offers up a great story of two people doing their best to fight an attraction that cannot be denied. They try hard to quell the attraction but it won’t be so easy and their journey was entertaining and endearing. Lizzie Ashworth presents us with two incredible characters; the widow Cara who isn’t willing to go through the pain she suffered at her husband’s death and Morgan who plainly doesn’t believe in love. It was amusing to watch them fight their feelings, and at times Morgan was a big fat jerk which was off-putting, but it did allow him to grow into a hero worthy of Cara’s love. His baggage was heavy and I’m glad Cara didn’t simply fall back into his arms without explanation. Like in any great love story, she made him work for it and it made the story so much more appealing. Her strength proved that Faint Heart isn’t your typical romance; it is so much more than that and it left me with the warm and fuzzies long before the end.
Cara has suffered a great loss - the death of her husband. She has now decided to completely immerse herself in the new business she is building. This will protect her heart from losing someone that close to her heart again. Morgan has trust issues stemming from his childhood. Love equals hurt and leaving in his world, so he just won't love anyone but his dad. When Cara and Morgan meet, sparks fly. From the first time they lay eyes on each other, they find the attraction undeniable. Thinking they can get it out of their system, they try that route. Love ensues and chaos reigns supreme. Throw Dad into the mix and it will all work out. This will make you laugh, cry,...and swoon. ARC provided in exchange for honest review.
Faint Heart is the 1st book I have read by Lizzie Ashworth. This story was not only filled with hot steamy sex between Morgan and Cara but it also had a storyline that kept me interested on how these two would fare in their relationship. I will definitely be reading more books by this author.
