This book is part of the Hillcrest Mystery series and I think I should have read the prior one before reading this but I enjoyed it immensely anyway! There were quite a few references back to the prior book in the series. Jillian, who works in a biotech corporation which is a public corporation with stockholders has the job to make sure that all investors are happy--good luck with that one-never happen!! I'm sure most of you have heard the term Fair Disclosure--well it essentially refers to the fact that ALL investors should be given the same information at the same time. I am also sure you have heard the term-insider trading-which is a BIG no no!! That is when a group of investors-usually very large ones-manage to get information not available to everyone and they act on it-making millions while everyone else loses!! This story revolves around these two concepts-people are killed, almost killed and Jillian ends up in the hospital pretty badly beaten up. The good news is she is going to re marry her ex husband. This is definitely an entertaining who done it mystery complete with a confused but brilliant police detective, Jillian's mother and the first victims Mother (troublemakers!) and a variety of other characters. Of course the FBI had to get involved as well (insider trading is a big no no). This is a continuing series and I think after reading the last few words in the book which kind of leads into it--I want to read it!

This is the first book that I have ever read from Joyce, and I surely plan on reading more. The scene in the first chapter had me reeling, especially with the in depth details of the characters. These characters were true to life, with thier "can't be bothered" attitude. As this novel does follow a real life event, I knew that it was going to be a one night read for me.  I enjoy novels that leave you guessing, Fair Disclosure provided just that. A guessing game to the end. I found the relationship between Jillian and Chad to be just as intriguing as the crime itself. The way the two interact adds almost a separate novel within the pages. Jillian and Chad's history was something that I have witnessed and was able to relate too. At least as far as the marriage and divorce part-Jillian's previous kidnapping-now that was so very subtle in the beginning. I liked how it evolved into furthering the depth of Jillians character. If you are looking for a great and very quick read, with twists-turns-and a fair share of plausible suspects Fair Disclosure is just the book for you. Be prepared to start the book and finish it before you realize it.

This is an exciting mystery that will make you ask questions ... I really find it intriguing and I get extremely curious every single scene that is being pictured in my mind while reading the pages. This is a good read for anyone who love, mystery ,suspense and romance. The book cover is also catchy for me , same with the title which at first I'm really curious about. If you really want to be thrilled and you want to investigate about the book and the story, do not miss to have this one on your bookshelf! While reading how the investigations went,  I can't hep but involve myself without knowing that I am too feed up with the sequence and twist of events . Hurry and make sure you start reading this one!

Spectacular mystery ever.  Fair Disclosure by Jillian Hillcrest is brilliantly written. Actually, one of the best I have read so far. In just a few pages, I knew that it was going to deliver more than great reading. I liked the description of it all, the suspects with their own little motives all written with such a style that can become addictive. I was actually trying not to peak to find out who done it and it was hard. I wanted to know if I was right. Sometimes, I can be that way when I’m truly absorbed.  yet, I could not figure out  It was very descriptive and I really liked that. It was a mystery I would probably re-read one day just to see where I went wrong at figuring out the end.  That’s what happens when it’s very well written.  All I can add to this review is with the Holidays/Christmas just around the corner. Fair Disclosure will make a great gift for yourself or for someone special on your list. Happy Reading! Adriana LG

I love mysteries and I love when a book grabs me right from the first page. This book meets both of those criteria! This was a great page turner and kept me guessing right up to the end. The ending was a suprise and I love when that happens too! A book isn't quite as fun if you have everything figured out before you're halfway through. This book is part of a series but I didn't even realize that when I was reading it. It stands alone superbly. I can't wait to read the other books in this series. I've found a new favorite author to add to my bookshelf!

My favourite type of book, a murder mystery with a very clever plot and with several suspects all with a motive to have killed. Even though this is the third book in the series and the first I have read the author gave you an explanation throughout the plot of what had happened in the previous two, so you knew exactly what was going on.  The characters and situations that take place are excellently described and you feel that you are there in the background as a ghost figure observing the action unfold. The beauty of this book is the emotion you feel coming from the main character as you would yourself in her situation. also the love and care of those around her.  The novel revolves around the world of insider trading and having found her prospective employer murdered and under pressure of her company being investigated makes for a really good read.  I'm really looking forward to reading more from this author.

First off Warning! This book will steal hours of your life and time. Seriously it is that good! I was hooked the very first chapter and loved the multiple aspects of the storylines. There were so many things going on but Ms. Strand is so talented that I never felt lost throughout the entire book! I will let you know this is the 3rd book in a series so for people like me that don't like to read out of order if possible you should definitely search for the first 2 Jillian Mysteries before reading this one! I would recommend this book to any mystery lover for sure!

At first, after reading Fair Disclosure, I did not know that there were two other books that came ahead of it in the Jillian Hillcrest series. Fair Disclosure was a different type of mystery for me since it took place in a business atmosphere but I still loved reading about all that Jillian went through. It was very interesting because insider trading was the main problem in the book but it gets kicked off with a murder mystery. It was intense right from the start and sucked me right in to the story! I really liked how busy the storyline of this book was because I like to bounce back and forth between different things going on in a novel when I am reading. I feel like it adds depth to the novel, and just like in real life, there is more than one scenario that could possibly be happening at once. I have yet to read the other two books in the series called On Message (Hillcrest #1) and Open Meetings (Hillcrest #2), but I am going to have to track them down because Joyce T. Strand does a great job in letting us get to know th characters in which she writes about and as the reader, you feel the emotional pull that they do. I enjoyed Jillian as the main character and she was easily relatable as there was also a romance secondary storyline going on at the same time. A woman can not be all business all the time, can she? I highly recommend Fair Disclosure, and I am not too sure whether it was a spoiler for the other books in the series that I had not ready beforehand, but it read just fine for me as a stand alone. Anyone that enjoys a little mystery and some romance would like this book, and I am giving it a FIVE star rating and a big thumbs up. Now I just need to get my hands on the other two books! I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.

Recently I reviewed Fair Disclosure by Joyce T. Strand, and I must say she has snagged me on as a brand new fan. I love a good mystery and Fair Disclosure is by far one of the best I have come across here lately. Grabbing me straight from the first chapter I was thrown into the plot . There are many twists in the book, which  I like. Just when you think you figure something out there's a growing mystery that makes you think about it all over again. I was compelled to go further and couldn't put the book down. The characters are real and I was able to connect to them which really makes a book stand out.  The plot thickens and keeps you at the edge of your seat throughout the book constantly keeping you feeling like you were right there along in the book itself. I didn't know when I first started this book that it was part of a series, and you know what? I normally don't start series books when I fear there will be that one book not coming out for months leaving me hanging- Fair Disclosure is a stand by itself book. You can read it by itself and you will enjoy it! I guarantee it.  With a little realistic romance mixed in, and it is realistic you can't go wrong with the book.  The author used dialogue to show us so many emotions and scenes. It always makes me feel more connected to the characters when I can hear what is in their head and heart. She also used great descriptions so you felt like you were in the story. Will we ever found out who did what and uncover the unexpected twists? You’ll have to read the book yourself to find out ad I recommend you pick up Fair Disclosure and any of the Jillian Hillcrest Mysteries.

A good mystery is what a raining day needs.  I was lucky enough to spend this past Wednesday with Jillan as she solves a great series of crimes. I thought the book was a excellent read that keep me interested and I was also playing detective with each turn of the pages. I have to admit I did not see the ending coming! Great Read. Fair Disclosure is the third book in a series...I will definitely be reading On Message and Open Meetings. I am purchasing the series for my sister-in-law for Christmas.  A great gift!

I’m a sucker for a good mystery novel.  Fair Disclosure is one of the best I have read lately.  It really grabbed me, sucked me in and I didn’t want to stop reading it because I had to find out what was going to happen next.  The book is so well written I didn’t realize it was part of a series until I was halfway through the book.  I didn’t feel like I had missed anything.  It’s a book that can stand alone or be enjoyed in a series. The author used dialogue to show us so many emotions and scenes.  It always makes me feel more connected to the characters when I can hear what is in their head and heart.  She also used great descriptions so you felt like you were in the story. This mystery doesn’t just have one mystery, it is filled with mysteries inside of mysteries.  We had to sit on the edge of our seats to find out where Vivien and Sheryl were and who put them there.  They were found in the same building that someone else was murdered in. I love that the author pulls us into the story with a realistic romance line as well.  It always makes the book more fun to read when we get a little romance mixed in with murder and betrayal. Do we ever found out who did what?  Do Jillain and Chad get remarried?  You’ll have to read the book yourself to find out! I highly recommend Fair Disclosure and any of the Jillian Hillcrest Mysteries. You won’t be able to put them down!

Most of my regular readers now I am a bit OCD about series books. This is the third installment in the Jillian Hillcrest series, so of course I had to find books 1 & 2 to read them in order :) I do think this book would read perfectly fine as a stand alone book, you wouldn’t feel like you were missing any important information from the first two books, but I loved all three books, and reading the first two made me feel really connected to the main character, Jillian. Mysteries are probably my favorite genre, and I’m probably more of a series fan than single stories. I like to really see characters evolve over time and different scenarios, and this series did not disappoint. I highly recommend all three books. This story really makes you think, as you try to figure out how the case is going to be solved. I enjoy being an armchair detective. I know I’d never like to try to solve crimes in real life, but in a book -from the safety of my home- you can count on me to try and figure out exactly what happens, and predict any twists.

I received a copy of this book to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This was a very thrilling book and I really enjoyed reading it. The story was amazing and a thrill ride that I didn't expect when I started reading. I would really recommend this book to anyone who likes a good mystery or a thriller. The only issue I found with this book was a lot of description that may not have been needed. I noticed it more in the beginning then at other times in the book, and as the story progressed I didn’t notice it at all, but if you can move though that it is a book you must read!

Great Murder Mystery! I love a great mystery and that’s exactly what I got with Fair Disclosure!  This novel was a great read and I quickly got drawn into the characters and their lives.  The main character, Jillian, is very well-developed. You learn about her life and the reasonings behind her decisions. I felt connected to her and found myself giving advice while reading. (Did I mention I have a tendency to get emotionally involved with the books I read?)  Ms. Strand successfully merged a great mystery with real-world, modern issues.  This is the third book in the Jillian Hillcrest series. I hadn’t read the other two but did not feel as though I was missing out on any background or pertinent information. This novel reminds me of grown-up versions of the mysteries I read growing up.  After reading Fair Disclosure, I have added the first two novels to my must read list!

I immediately felt like I was in a community where I could be in off off broadway community theatre. I felt a kinship with the characters like an incident of this kind could have happened in any creative community. Maybe even my own. When I realized the prior relationship between Jillian and the lead detective on the present case, still I was didn’t feel at a loss because I haven’t read Strands other two books in the Jillian Hillcrest series. This story pulls you into the action right away with the attempted murder at the play’s opening night; and draws you deeper in as the clues continue to unfold revealing more danger and espionage in the business world. Jillian, her mother and Sheryl, the victims mother are in the middle of it all – so she has no choice but to aide in the investigation. You could say, lives depend upon it. Never mind that both mothers disappear! They’ve been doing a lot of detective work on their own. Meanwhile, Jillian and Chad, once divorced, are in love again – bonded over her own near death experience in the last Hillcrest mystery (which I must have now), and ready to tie the knot again. Planning a wedding in the midst of this turmoil at their dear friends new winery. Does this have anything to do with the criminal shenaigans? Is Jillian really ready for marriage again? Do we ever find out who tried to kill Vance at opening night of the play? Why did the mysterious woman offer him a job right before the play started? What is Detective Sherwood hiding and how many people will actually have to die? I don’t know – well, actually I do know. I’m just not going to tell you. You’ll have to read the book – and it’s definitely one you want to read. Strands writing is smooth, enticing and involving. She pulls you into the story and even though there are multiple story lines in play, the reader is easily able to follow every one of them to completion. Being able to follow the emotions of characters is extremely important for success as a writer, and Strand does it. I feel a great tension between Detective Sherwood and Jillian and can’t wait for it to explode on a widescale platform. That will keep me coming back through the whole series.

Fair Disclosure is a mystery based in the business world. It’s not the type of mystery I’m used to reading but it was interesting. Insider trading is the main issue of the book but it starts with an attempted murder. There is a lot going on in Fair Disclosure. Besides the investigation into insider trading and the attempted murder, there’s a murder, amateur sleuths, and a marriage proposal on the table. Jillian, the main character, has been through a lot, is just getting over her last ordeal, and now finds herself involved in another murder mystery.  Joyce T. Strand does a good job at describing Jillian’s thoughts and emotions and I felt like I really got to know her. Her annoyance at having to deal with frustrating investors and coworkers was very realistic.  I enjoyed this book. It was a good old fashioned mystery but in the modern business world. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good mystery.

I love “detective” books! I love trying to solve the puzzle before finding the answer and I love when a book can stump me! This was a great “detective” read that I happened to figure out the same time the detective in the book did so it was perfect! The last few books I have reviewed have been very fast paced, page turning thrillers. This one caused me to slow down – which I liked. It took me longer to read because I didn’t find it as suspenseful and page turning – it wasn’t a thriller. It was a “solve the case” type of read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Fair Disclosure is the third book to the Jillian Hillcrest series. I did not feel lost by any means without having read the first two, but I will definitely be hunting down the first two Jillian Hillcrest books just so I can read more by this author and about Jillian’s previous “run-ins” with the detective. Overall, I was very pleased with this read and cannot wait to read more by this author!

Joyce Strand has created a very real character in Jillian with her years of corporate experience, research of real cases and police procedures. The mystery in "Fair Disclosure" begins as Jillian Hillcrest is attending a play that is disrupted when a severely injured man is found. Later when asked to look over the financials  of Harmonia, Jillian also finds Suspicious shortsells of stock. Exactly how can anyone know of a problem with the trials of a new drug  and sell stock before she even had heard? Now add to all that, a company using Harmonia's technology  is investigated for marketing a drug for something other than approved for. Oh and I forgot... The mother of the young man assaulted at the play, and Jillian's mother are missing!  Got ya hooked yet? How are all these happenings connected? You will have to check this one out, because it will keep you hopping!
