The stories are engaging. Heroic orphans are assisted by powerful animals; shamans tangle with evil kele; a woman-creator influences the form of the world; magical implements, like a whetstone which assists its owneragainst an attack from its own knife, appear in crises. Explanations of myth-time combine with elemnets of real-time experiences, and embedded messages explain why things are as they are, and how people should behave.
