There is a wonderful and exciting development in Christian life. It is the faith-based community. These communities are small groups of family, friends, neighbors and co-workers who meet in homes each week. The group is open to all people of faith. Group members share their problems and concerns and then discuss how the Holy Bible speaks to these issues. Group members share a simple meal and likewise share the Good News of Jesus Christ. The members pray for one another and for the intentions of all in our world. The group can then decide on how they can best serve their neighborhood and community through social service activities. This book tells the story of our faith-based community and offers practical suggestions as to how to use our story to become your story. We also discuss central themes of the Christian faith such as separation from God, the importance of prayer and Sacred Scripture and offer practical suggestions as to how the reader can become a true minister and disciple of Jesus Christ. The book offers a chapter outlining resources that are available to all that can be used to bring social justice and the love of God to all. The small community group allows people to advance in their faith journey and experience new pathways to finding God both in ourselves and in one another.
