"Faith goes beyond your initial statement of belief and brings you the ability to feel the change and to enjoy a life of obedience to God."Whether you are a relatively new Christian or gave your life to Jesus decades ago, you can build on your present level of faith to create a richer inner life and an outer life that becomes more and more Christlike. In this book, Randy Cook uses both his long professional pastoral career and his personal experiences to detail how you can:*Use your imagination to bring the Bible to life and visualize yourself living inside these verses*Understand how your feelings are related to your faith*Accept and truly believe that you are significant, special and secure*Learn strategies to persevere and not give up before "the finish line"Scripturally accurate, the book follows a natural progression of faith development and incorporates thoughtful and heartfelt prayers by Randy's wife and spiritual partner, Anita Cook. If you sincerely adopt the steps in this book, you can be assured you will be on a firmer foundation of faith in the days, weeks and years to come.

About the Author

Randy Cook placed his faith in Christ at the age of ten. Soon after, the Lord gave him a clear knowledge that he was to be a pastor, a transition that changed him from a shy introvert into a spiritual leader.
He earned his BA in Radio and Television Communication from California State University at Fullerton. During those college years God developed his abilities for evangelism and Bible teaching, through involvement in Campus Crusade for Christ. He went on to get his M.Div. from Talbot Theological Seminary in La Mirada, California.
After three years as Associate Pastor under Gary McIntosh in San Bernardino, California, he was appointed as a Church Planter by the Conservative Baptist Home Mission Society and assigned to Phoenix, Arizona. There he had the privilege of watching the working of God as he founded Friendship Community Church of Ahwatukee and grew it from the meeting of a few families in a private home to a thriving congregation. Randy remained the senior pastor for 33 years, during which time he wrote his first book, "Balance in Spiritual Things" (Companion Press, 1990).
Now retired from active ministry, he has left the Arizona desert to live in King City, Oregon, to be involved in the lives of his grandchildren. But Randy continues to serve by teaching Sunday School and being involved in other teaching opportunities in his local church.
Anita Cook also received Christ at a young age, giving her life to the Lord when she was 11. She received her BA from Biola University as a Bible major and met Randy at Talbot Theological Seminary while working on her MA in Biblical Studies. They both graduated in 1979 and married a few months later.
Knowing that the Lord had put a call on her own heart to be serving Him, she remained involved in church ministry with Randy from the beginning of their marriage until his retirement in 2016. At Friendship Community Church she was foundational in the children's and women's ministries, adjusting her hours as needed during the raising of their family. Randy and Anita have two married daughters and three grandchildren with two more on the way.
In retirement, Anita enjoys reading, gardening and playing the piano; but mostly, being with her grandchildren.
Between them Randy and Anita have more than 70 years of pastoral experience and are passionate about sharing what they learned in those years in order to bring new believers to the faith and help Christians grow in spiritual maturity.
