Narrator Susan Ericksen returns the listener to the world of New York City police detective Eve Dallas and her billionaire husband, Roarke, in this series, which takes place 40 years in the future. Eve’s investigation of the murder of a sculptor leads to a sinister cult-like group. Roarke is Irish, and Ericksen gives him a slight brogue. Eve has a no-nonsense tone, and the listener enjoys the scenes in which she uses it while interrogating suspects. The banter between Eve and her partner, Peabody, keeps the listener entertained.
