I understand that this is a book written to help parents raise children within the framework of religious morals. And many people are and will probably be encouraged and helped by reading it. However, Faith is not something that can be passed on like the baton in a race, which is his main analogy. Faith has to be a personal individual decision. We can present The Bible to our children, as we are commanded to in Deuteronomy, but we cannot impart faith. We can live our own personal faith before others, but we cannot, even to our children, implant our faith.
This book has not only helped me with how to teach my own kids but have taught me a thing or two.
