Sarah Harrison is used to strange customers.

Working at a lingerie store, she helps bored housewives, spicy sorority girls, repentant husbands -- and everyone in between. Yet no one sparks her interest more than Jared Gaines, the ultra-rich, ultra-sexy businessman who frequents her shop, buying delicate little "gifts" for the women in his life.

But one day, Jared sends her a gift from Bliss. Then another--and another. It doesn't matter how thoughtful he is, or how well-chosen the gifts are, or how sexy he is. It's inappropriate, and Sarah is determined to put a stop to it. Or at the very least, she wants to know why.

It's the oldest one in the book, of course. He needs a fake girlfriend for the weekend while attending his brother's engagement party. It's a terrible idea. She's certain it could even get her fired. So she absolutely takes him up on it.

Next thing Sarah knows, she's in San Francisco, pretending to be in love with Jared. Not that it's a hardship.

Except that the real feelings in their pretend relationship soon have her in over her head. Is he just faking it, or do they have their own shot at bliss?

Sarah works at Bliss, a lingerie shop and deals with lots of interesting clients. Jared frequents her shop to purchase gifts for the women in his life. Jerad begins to send Sarah gifts from Bliss and she goes to him to find out why he is. He wants to maker her an offer she can't refuse: to be his pretend girlfriend for the weekend while attending his brother's engagement party. Soon, their pretend relationship becomes less fake and more real. First, let me say that I love all books written by Monica Murphy. I will always read anything she writes. The romance between Jared and Sarah is hot and the attraction is obvious. The story is fun and hot and flowed very well. I really enjoyed this book! I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!

Fake Date by Monica Murphy is the second book in her Dating series. This is the story of Sarah and Jared who first met at the high-end lingerie store where Sarah works. Part of her job at the store is to meet with clients and help them choose their lingerie purchases. Her meetings with Jared are guaranteed to be tense, filled with innuendo, and a frustrating turn-on. Not that either one will admit that. When Jared starts sending Sarah gifts she calls him out on his inappropriate behavior and gets invited to his brother's engagement party in San Francisco. What ensues is intense chemistry, mixed feelings, self-doubt and wonderful romantic tale. Enjoy!

Sarah Harrison lost her parents in her first year of college. That meant she had to quit to take care of her younger brother and sister and become a parent to them. It certainly hasn’t been an easy road for her, but one that was necessary. Trying to make a living to support them without a degree, she gets a job at a lingerie shop called Bliss. Now years later, she is one of their most trusted employees. Most of her customers are women, with a few men. One in particular, Jared Gaines, is handsome and infuriating! For the past six months he’s been making appointments with her, assuming he’s buying for all his mistresses or one night stands. Sarah feels like he can’t stand her since he’s always so rude to her. One day when she returns home, Sarah finds a package from her store and it was sent by Jared. The actual lingerie she sold him that same day. She’s never been so confused in her life, what does this mean. However, that becomes the first of many gifts from Jared. Feeling the need to confront him at his office and return his gifts, Sarah decides to go before her shift at Bliss. What she didn’t expect was his proposition. Jared needs her to be his fake date at his brother’s engagement party. After much convincing, Sarah agrees. Now she has to pretend to be his actual girlfriend. Pretending never felt so good. Jared has had it bad for Sarah for months. Asking her to be his pretend girlfriend is a brilliant idea, if he could only convince her to make it more permanent. This is actually a 3 and a half star rating. I’ve always enjoyed Ms Murphy’s books. However, this one just wasn’t one of my favorites. The dialogue between the two, was off, for me. I received a copy of this arc in exchange for an honest review

Fake Date Fun Fake Dating seems to be the way of life. Never let them know exactly what you are feeling... Jared appears to be a Ladies Man. He frequently purchased gifts for the women he was seeing. So when Sarah receives a gift from him, she is not impressed. This gift starts the two off on a Fake Date to Jared's brother's engagement party. This causes them to spend time together, get to know each other, and learn about the other. Fake love to Real love is definitely a great concept and I love how the characters progressed. This is a great read when you want to read about that new relationship story.

Sarah Harrison works at the upscale Bliss lingerie, and she’s used to dealing with interesting clients. But none of them are more interesting than perceived playboy, Jared Gaines. He’s handsome, he’s rich, he’s inscrutable, and he buys a lot of lingerie. So when he begins sending Sarah gifts, she doesn’t know quite how to process it. Because, try as she might, she’s attracted to this man, even though she knows he’s probably trouble. Add in a fake relationship pact and a weekend in San Francisco with Jared’s family, and the lines of what’s pretend and what’s real begin to blur. Sarah and Jared definitely have chemistry, but do they have what it takes to make a real relationship last? ‘Fake Date’ is a contemporary romance that ticks all the boxes. Fake relationship trope with a new a fresh spin? Check. A supportive friend group that tells it like it is? Check. Palpable, sizzling, chemistry between the heroine and the hero? Check. A slow burn of said chemistry with a highly satisfying resolution? Check, check, check. I really enjoyed this novel, so much so that I read it in one sitting. It’s fun, flirty, and entertaining. This was my first time reading Monica Murphy, and I’m happy to report that it won’t be my last. **Thanks, NetGalley, for sending me an ARC of ‘Fake Date’ in exchange for my honest review.**

This is Sarah and Jared book, Sarah works at Bliss lingerie and she deals with all kinds of interesting clientele! But nobody peeks her interest more than the ultra rich ultra sexy businessman Jared who frequents her shop buying delicate gifts for the women of his life! But one day she gets her own gift! From none other than Jared himself! Jared is a wealthy businessman and he can’t stop thinking about the sexy sales girl at his local lingerie store! He keeps buying all these sexy gifts for nobody lol but he gets the smart idea to send one to Sara! So when Sarah walks into his office demanding to know why he keeps sending her gifts he makes her an offer she somehow can’t refuse, to be his fake girlfriend for the weekend! This book was really good I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it! it definitely had a little Bit of steam to it personally I would’ve liked a little more but it was definitely hot LOL I do recommend reading it it had a great storyline it was funny it was definitely a decent read! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

Enjoyed this book immensely! Monica developed both characters wonderfully. The secondary characters are great too. Looking forward to reading Candice Gaines' story. Monica is one of my favorite authors!

Fake Date is unusual in the way in which our loyalties lie mainly with the male protagonist rather than the female. While Sarah is a wonderful character, she is also far more self-aware than Jared and as a result able to analyse and understand her emotions, as well as discerning the right path for her happiness. Jared suffered the loss of his mother at a young age, not able to deal with his grief, he internalised it and withdrew from those closest to him. Adding to his self-imposed distance following first heartbreak has ensured his negativity toward himself has been continually fuelled. Although Sarah and Jared interact initially via business transactions, rather unconventional ones at that, they do have an incredible chemistry that fuels their banter. Sarah’s integrity also captivates Jared who is so used to everything being easy for him. Sarah and Jared have a lot in common, which aids the connection between them. Sarah is able to understand Jared in a way that no-one else has ever been able to. As a result, allowing Jared insight into his own actions and interactions. Fake Date isn’t really about a faux romance becoming real as the relationship between Jared and Sarah is ‘real’ even when they pretend it is merely for show. Fake Date is about finding the one person who is able to understand you and accept your flaws and all while making you want to be a better person because of them ❤

Sarah works at a lingerie shop, where she has one client who is there frequently, Jared Gaines and they were always bickering each other up and flirting with each other. Some time later he becames bold and gives her the lingeries he bought, she confronts him on it and after talking a little he asks her if she would accept to be his fake date for his brother's engagement party. As the two spend time together, they began having feelings for each other. Will their love story have a happy ending or will Jared's past hurts cause problems between them? A sweet romantic comedy, i enjoyed the book. .

4 stars! Fake Date was my first book by Monica Murphy. I liked it and enjoyed it from beginning to end. Sarah and Jared had great chemistry together. Their bantering at the beginning was very entertaining and I liked that we were able to get both their point of views of the story. Fake relationships with a lot of chemistry are one of my favorite tropes. Sarah and Jared were great together. She made him realize what he was missing out in life by closing himself to love. His family relationships were suffering too. Sarah made him realize how lucky he was to have a big family who loved him even if he was not the nicest person to them. I liked how she made him be a better brother and son. Sarah was my favorite character of the book. Though still young she carried a lot of responsibility on her shoulders. She had to set her dreams and goals aside to take care of her siblings when their parents died. I loved how at the end she found inspiration to work in what she was great at and that she found her HEA and that she made Jared really work for it. Sarah's friends were a great support system. We should all be so lucky to have one! I'll be looking out for their stories if they get one! Great read! Thank you to the publisher for the ARC given through NetGalley for an honest review.

Wow, I absolutely feel in love with Monica Murphy's new romance Fake Date. The story is a witty and fun take on the fake girlfriend romance with strong lead characters who both may be a little broken but are perfect for each other, they just don't know it yet. Sarah Harrison is doing everything to make ends meet for her and her younger brother and sister, working at Bliss a lingerie shop is doing just that. As a personal shopper she has to pick out lingerie for her clients and her worst is Jared Gaines the rich but rude client who seems to buy unmentionables for his mistresses every other week. When the tables turn however and he sets his sights on Sarah everything changes and now he asks for her tobehsi Fake Date for his brothers engagement party. The question now becomes is this weekend away real or just a lie. Jared Gaines doesn't get close to anyone not even his family but the young and very beautiful Sarah Harrison has gotten under his skin like no else has in a long time. Determined to get to know her Jared thinks going away together is a great opportunity that is until Sarah turn his world upside down. The Dating series is fast becoming my all time favorite of Ms Murphy's and that is saying a lot. The characters are vulnerable but also very strong in how they are and I loved that. Told in dual POVs we get to see both sides of the story which is great. There are also fantastic secondary characters both whom we have met before in book 1 but also Jared's little sister who I believe has a book other own coming up. That being said this is definitely Jared and Sarah's book and it's a page turner from the start.

I love the fake relationship trope in books but the route to the fake dating was a little sketchy in this one (let’s be real if Jared wasn’t attractive there’s no way Sarah would have struggled even a bit about how inappropriate he was being with the gifts). The chemistry between the lead characters was good. . I liked the alternating pov’s. I would have liked Jared to have been a little more proactive about wanting to change / be a better man without having someone push him to it though. Overall a quick, light easy read.

This was a pretty cute little story, and I really like the cover of the book as well. There was the whole hate to love bit at the beginning. The whole build up though was pretty sexy. And the chemistry between Sarah and Jared was hot. Both families were really good ones, and I enjoyed their parts in the story. Sarah's friends were also fun, and I think I need to go back and read book 1, as well as looking forward to reading more of their stories in future books. It was a quick, easy read, with lots of steam and romance all around. Honestly I liked that even the people we thought would be the "bad guy" were actually just normal people when given the chance to give their side.

3.5 stars--FAKE DATE is the second instalment in Monica Murphy’s contemporary, adult DATING romance series. This is thirty four year old, acquisitions billionaire Jared Gaines, and twenty four year old, lingerie sales clerk Sarah Harrison’s story line. FAKE DATE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Told from dual first person perspectives (Jared and Sarah) FAKE DATE focuses on the building relationship between thirty four year old, acquisitions billionaire Jared Gaines, and twenty four year old, lingerie sales clerk Sarah Harrison. For close to six months Sarah Harrison has been the go-to personal shopper for businessman Jared Gaines, a man whose taste in lingerie is exquisite and expensive. Believing Jared is nothing more than a manwh*re with numerous mistresses Sarah remains overly professional in the face of her unwanted attraction to a man she doesn’t like. When gifts of lingerie, expensive shoes and flowers arrive at Sarah’s door, our heroine battles between head and heart believing Jared is treating her no better than the women he leaves behind but Jared need a plus-one for his brother’s engagement party, and Sarah is the perfect woman for the job. What ensues is the fake girlfriend but building romance and relationship between Sarah and Jared, and the potential fall –out when Jared’s secrets all but destroy Sarah’s faith in a possible happily ever after. Jared Gaines doesn’t do relationships; having been burned in the past, Jared refuses to fall in love, having hardened his heart to romance and love. Meeting Sarah Harrison sparks something deep within our story line hero, something Jared struggles to accept or acknowledge. Sarah Harrison has raised her younger brother and sister since the death of their parents four years earlier. Having spent no time on herself Sarah battles with Jared’s offer of a fake relationship knowing that her heart has already started to fall for the man who struggles with family and friends. Watching Jared falter with basic social skills, Sarah quickly discovers that Jared has closed himself off from said family and friends. Jared’s personality and actions will be difficult to accept for many romance readers. Oft-times immature and cold, Jared struggles with ordinary and everyday social encounters including his treatment of our story line heroine. The relationship between Jared and Sarah begins as a business arrangement wherein Sarah becomes Jared’s personal shopper at Bliss Lingerie. Jared’s attraction to Sarah finds our hero ‘using’ Sarah to ‘shop’ for his many ‘women’, only for Sarah to discover that she has been the only woman for several months. The $ex scenes are passionate and intimate but mostly implied, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Sarah’s sister Andie, and their brother Brent; and Sarah’s co-worker Bethany, and boss Marlo; Jared’s brother Kevin and his fiancée Rochelle, their sister Candice, their father Marcus Gaines, and his wife Mitzi. We are reintroduced to Sarah’s friends: Caroline Abbott ( Save the Date #1), Stella, and Kelsey. FAKE DATE is a story of family, grief, acceptance and love. The premise is entertaining; the romance is seductive; the characters are energetic but Jared’s actions and behavior are questionable and problematic

After reading ‘Save The Date’ a view weeks ago, I couldn’t resist requesting a review copy of the second book in this series. So when I received the email saying I would get an ARC I was just so excited. I mean.. have you seen that cover? I just love it, and I started reading as fast as possible. In ‘Fake Date’ we meet Sarah. Sarah has been taking care of her younger brother and sister after she lost her parents four years ago. To pay for everything she works at a fancy lingerie store. For the last view months a Jason has requested her assistance. She always thought he was just a little cold and simply wanted the best, so he requested her. But she can’t deny the handsome man is paying more and more attention to her. Things seem to chance and Sarah has to admit there is more to the guy than she first thought. I guess I was just like Sarah at the beginning of this book. I just didn’t really like Jason’s character. He seemed to be handsome, but things felt off with him. Luckily for me, not only Sarah started to like him more and more.. I did too. Which definitely felt like the authors intent. And I think she did an awesome job on that part. After I came to like both main characters more and more, I found myself enjoying this book. And I didn’t want to stop reading until I finished it. Sure there were some parts that where pretty predictable. But especially Jason’s characters surprised me several times. And I loved that. The chemistry in this book was definitely something I could feel. And I enjoyed reading about Sarah and Jason getting closer and closer. I also thought it was pretty fun to see a little of the main character of the previous book in this series. And there were plenty of possible new main characters through out this book. Although I think I loved the first book a little more, this one was also pretty damn good.. and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I was surprised by this story. On the surface it's a billionaire romance but as I got to peel back the layers, I met two amazing characters that deserved to find love yet wouldn't allow themselves. Sarah suffered an incredible tragedy but she stepped up to raise her teenage sister with the help of her younger brother. They had to forge a new family without their parents. She works at Bliss selling lingerie and has a most interesting client, Mr. Jared Gaines, who comes in to buy lingerie for his many mistresses. The one problem she finds him very attractive and struggles to maintain her professionalism then one visit, Jared, gets more personal. Jared is an up-tight, jerk, at least that is what he portrays. He had his heart broken several years ago shortly after his mom died so he decided to ban all emotions and not let anyone in. When he meets Sarah, she causes a shift inside him and he finds himself visiting Bliss more frequently. When his brother wants him to attend his engagement party, he takes advantage of this opportunity and convinces Sarah to be his fake date. Now these two had been doing the ultimate tap dance around their feelings, will a weekend together as a fake date force them to realize something real is possible? I enjoyed their journey. Jared gave Sarah a stability she didn't know she needed and Sarah pushed Jared to deal with his grief.

Fake Date by Monica Murphy is a well-written novel. The two main characters, Sarah Harrison and Jared Gaines, have AMAZING chemistry and their road to forever twists and turns quite a few times. Sarah works for Bliss Lingerie, an extremely upscale sexy undergarment boutique in Monterey, California. She is a good salesperson and many the store's clients request her personal expertise. At the ripe old age of twenty, Sarah lost both her parents to a tragic car accident. Overnight, she took on the role of caregiver to her younger brother and sister. Jared Gaines is a very successful businessman. He is a rich workaholic and is always dressed to the nines. Ten years ago, his fiance broke off their engagement only a few months before the big day, and as a result, he prefers a fling to any kind of relationship. He even keeps his family a safe distance away from his heart. Jared is a man of few words, in fact, most people find him intimidating. However, Sarah has the rare ability to coax him out of his shell. Jared is a Bliss client and Sarah is the only person he trusts to assist him with his purchases. Over the past six months, their clever banter has become flirtatious and a bit hot. When Jared needs a plus one for his brother's engagement party, he asks Sarah to accompany him and pretend to be his very much in love girlfriend. Their fake date evolves into lust and love. I truly enjoyed this book. Sarah is a wonderful character, and it was easy to get to know her. Her devotion to her family is inspiring, and the awesome girlfriends she surrounds herself with help keep her grounded. Jared is his own worst enemy and his cantankerous attitude is a bit hard to take. Basically, Sarah and Jared are two opposites that attract. Their sexy times are hot, both in and out of the bedroom. This is the second book from the author's Dating series and it can read as a standalone. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

I loved this charming, sexy and incredibly entertaining story. I had a blast reading it and I fell completely in love with Sarah and Jared. It was such a fun read and it left me with a huge smile on my face. I loved their interactions. Such great Hate-Flirt. Such sizzling chemistry. Sarah walks a fine line when she has to deal with Jared at her job, she doesn’t take any of his rude, demanding behavior without giving it right back to him. But what she doesn’t know is that she is the reason he comes into Bliss. So when he starts sending her some gifts, and then asks her on a fake date she is totally thrown for a loop. Will their chemistry lead to more? You need to read this to enjoy all the juicy details. Fake date is engaging, steamy, emotional and romantic, and it delivers a sublime happy-ever-after with all the feels.

4 1/2 stars! I absolutely loved Fake Date! This is a great story that checked all of my boxes. It had a little bit of everything I like. It was a little enemies to lovers, a little fake relationship, a broody hero who always seems aloof and angry but is really protecting his heart because he's a bit damaged (I just want to fix him) and heroine who is taking care of everyone but herself and deserves a freaking break (and he wants to give her one). There's a good back story to why Jared is who he is and there is much more to him than meets the eye. You initially think he's a complete womanizer since Sarah meets him in the lingerie store where he comes in periodically to buy lingerie for his assumed mistresses...but who is he really buying it for? Their connection is palpable. However, it's even more noticeable when they both try to ignore it and act as if there is nothing there. Jared truly doesn't know how to handle a woman that doesn't fall at his feet. Sarah was definitely not that type of woman. The gradual development of Sarah and Jared's relationship was perfect. It wasn't insta-love. They were continually one step forward and then two steps back in their relationship until they really put their feelings on the line. Ms. Murphy's Dating series is quite enjoyable. I like how they keep a little connection to each other as you read each subsequent book. However, you can also easily read these as standalones. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I received a free copy of FAKE DATE (Book 2 of the Dating Series) by Monica Murphy in exchange for an honest review. Sarah Harrison supports her brother and sister by working at Bliss Lingerie as both a salesclerk and a personal shopper. One of Sarah’s personal shopper clients, Jared Gaines, is driving her crazy. Jared’s hot, oh so hot, but he’s unpleasant and frequents the shop to buy lingerie for his long string of mistresses. Sarah’s seriously considering having Jared reassigned to another employee when Jared sends Sarah an inappropriate gift. Sarah knows she should return the lingerie, but it takes her awhile to do it because she’ll have to return the shoes, too, and she really, really adores the Louboutins. Sarah finally confronts Jared, but he talks her out of returning the presents and into being his fake date at an upcoming out-of-town family function. Is there more to Jared than a large bank account and a bad attitude? I liked this book. You should be aware that there were a lot of sexual fantasies and some explicit sex, which was not to my preference, but this type of material is prevalent in the genre. This is a dream story for women who like fixer-upper men. Jared seemed reasonably amenable to having Sarah coach him into being a more pleasant person and into having healthier relationships with his family. #FakeDate #NetGalley

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review** Fake Date is the second book in Monica Murphy's Dating series and if you haven't read the first in the series, never fear, this one can be read completely as a standalone. Sarah Harrison works at the high end lingerie store Bliss where one of her many jobs is to serve as a personal shopper to her clients. Her latest client that she's encountered is the enigma that is Jared Gaines. He's completely put together, always decked out in a suit, not a hair out of place, yet all she knows is he buys a whole lot of lingerie, so her assumption is he's definitely a ladies man. When Jared starts sending Sarah gifts, she doesn't quite know what to make of it. She doesn't want to be attracted to him, but she totally is. She's got her hands full due to the fact she's raising her brother and sister following the death of their parents and so the last thing she's had time for is dating. It turns out that Jared makes a proposition that Sarah pose as his girlfriend for his brother's engagement party. She agrees, but will it be as easy as they originally think it will? Not likely when the lines begin to blur and feelings begin to emerge. This was a fun, flirty fake relationship/hate-to-love novel and it was a great one. I enjoyed every minute of it and I also enjoyed Jared's sister, Candice, and Sarah's group of friends. I was stoked to see that the next book stars Candice as our heroine. Can't wait!

Murphy creates delightful romance. Fake Date lays on the charm with a hint of obvious and more than enough heart. Jared and Sarah are a riot. She makes you want to laugh, he makes you want to scream and they both kept me craving more. Sometimes our emotions need a chance to take a breather and find the smile that hides within. Monica Murphy is the perfect fit for bringing out the fun.
