Its a decent story, being a fan of the 40k universe and of Necron's I was more than excited to read this story. What followed was typical 40k grim dark, the characters are flat and by the end of the book you will neither care about the characters nor feel compelled to read further. The story itself is about the struggles of the ultramarine chapter at Damnos, rather than the fall of Damnos itself, which seemingly happens after the story itself.
