I'm a huge fan of Paranormal Romances, and Werewolves are my ultimate favorite paranormal creature, so when Dominic Ridolfi walked into my life, it was almost the end of me. Damn! He was one fine specimen. But before my review turns into an ode to Dominic... This book was exciting. I've read many Paranormal Romances, most of which include Vampires and Werewolves, and I'm always intrigued by how the author will spin the tale of these two creatures. I loved the idea of Kate being human in the beginning, not knowing her true identity, and the fact that Dominic was sent to kill her. These two were most definitely the definition of star-crossed lovers. They were the Romeo and Juliet of the Paranormal world and my heart broke a little for them with the knowledge that no matter how much they loved each other, the war between their kinds would in one way or another keep them apart. Or would it? That was the question that really spurred me on as I read this great story. Dominic was willing to give up so much for Kate, but would she be willing to give him her heart completely? I had so much hope that they'd find each other along the way, but there were so many factors against them. Trust was a big issue, and then there was the obvious hate between their kinds, not to mention golden boy Alex. Kate also had so much to deal with as the life she knew was ripped to shreds. I did feel that she kind of took to her new life too easily. She questioned things but never really fought against them. The only part of her new life she was adamant about wanting nothing to do with was the blood drinking. This story was an intriguing tale of forbidden love and family loyalty, as Dominic and Kate both struggled with doing what was right; what was expected of them, or following their hearts no matter the cost. It was a great read.

If I could describe this book in one word it would be AWESOME! The author is amazing with descriptions, character development, and the story line. It was a hard book to put down, and found myself lacking sleep, because I had to know what was going to happen. Dominic and Kate's story captured my heart. This is a must read! Can't wait for the next installment.

An interesting take on a couple old stories meshed together to make a new story. Kate is fun and free spirited and gets swept off her feet by Dominic, her rescuer There's a whole world she doesn't know about, and he comes into her life for one purpose, but can't bring himself to follow through. When the secrets come out, what happens? You got to read to find out

Loved the book, but gave it 4 stars because: the improper use of "smelt" throughout the book was annoying, there were a dozen little errors a good proof-reader should've caught, and the sudden ending left me thinking the 2-3 pages that should ease into book 2 were missing.

I am very new to the romance novel genre. I was a bit nervous about how detailed and naughty the text was going to be. I was incredibly pleased with Elle Bright's fast-paced and exciting tale of Kate and Dominic's star-crossed love. I did not feel like it was overly graphic or something I couldn't read in public. The description of each character and his/her growth throughout the story was very down-to-earth and touching. I particularly loved the details Bright included about the character's every-day life working in a hospital and the bantering that occurred between Kate and her roommate. Furthermore, though ultimately framed in a supernatural world, I found the characters highly realistic and relatable. I could not put this book down and eagerly purchased the second book.

This is such a fantastic debut novel by Elle Bright. An intriguing plot with well developed characters, lots of humor and very relatable dialogue. I wasn't very familiar with the vampire /werewolf genre before and what Elle conveyed so movingly is that love , honor, friendship, family and heart break transcend the human condition. It was very exciting to be transported into this "other world '' and yet still be able to connect with all the characters. I loved being surprised at numerous times in the story and found myself often questioning where the story was going to take me next. It was a really fun read. I'm looking forward to reading more by Ms. Bright.

Fall of Darkness is a great read. The writing is clear, descriptive, and pulls the reader in from the first moments. Full of light, hope and humor in the beginning, this story quickly turns dark and (perhaps) hopeless. The heroine, Kate Murdock, is compelled to live in a world not only not of her choosing, but anathema to the very basis upon which she has built her life. Despite the horror Kate’s life has become, she finds a way to hold onto the precious, although battered remnants of her human nature. Throughout, this reader remained hopeful and cheered her on, but my fists were bunched and my anxiety level was off the charts. The only downside of this story is that I will have to wait for the sequel to find out what happens, but there is no doubt I will be there waiting, anxiously if not patiently. Very well done.

Great start of a series. The only problem was with the start of chapter 21-23 they were repeats of earlier chapters. Not sure if this is a nook glitch or a serious editing problem.

I am so sick of reading these wanna be twilight books with no originality, this book has addicting characters, nice twists and turns, the author takes you to different locations and keeps the balance of romance, heat, danger and heartbreak, cant wait to read her next book!

Loved this book! I just fell in love with Kate and Dominic. Poor Kate didn't have a clue on the changes to occur in her life. Dominic was just trying to do what was part of his heritage. Then they met and all changed! Kate wasn't really interested in finding love as her only experience was her high school sweetheart and that ended after he came out of the closet. The passion they felt for one another was more than either of them was ready for. Their situation was going to have many bumps due to their situations, more like hills and valleys! Her grandfather was only interested in her for what she could bring but I think Alex really did care for her. "She had been promised to him" but I think Alex really cared about Kate as he got to know her. She would of never truly been happy with him because of Dom. I can't wait to read the next part...hurry Elle! I would also love to see Alex find someone....

I liked this story a lot, it was a good read and there were parts I really loved. I enjoyed Kate and Dominic's interactions and their growing relationship. I liked their chemistry a lot. I also liked the conflict and inner turmoil that was involved. When Kate's world is turned upside down, everything seems pretty abrupt and matter of fact. I like how she dealt with it for the most part even though she was very conflicted a lot of the time. During the second half of the book, I felt bad for Dominic and Kate and all they were going through. There was just so much longing and it was rather heartbreaking. I liked the growing friendship between Kate and Alex as well but I never liked Alex like I liked Dominic. He was intriguing but I never fully trusted him, it was like he had an ulterior motive I didn’t know about.  There was a section in the middle where I thought things were a bit drawn out and I was ready for some action, by the time the ending came around, I wasn’t disappointed. There were some emotional times at the end with drama mixed in and I was happy with the conclusion. I can see with how it ended where a second book would come into play (and yes, there will be a book two – Dark Redemption). This was a love story with paranormal characters involved. I liked the storyline, characters, the bit of heat, and drama. Definitely a good read. ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book! It has a little bit of everything- romance, comedy, drama, suspense, and action. The plot is compelling, the heroine is relatable, the hero is delicious, the author's voice is fresh and witty, and the dialogue is natural. The story flowed well and I was sucked in from the start. I can't wait for the next one!
