About the Author

At five years old, Tess was walking down a gravel path and saw that one of the rocks had been kicked away into the grass, all alone. She was instantly upset, cradled the poor rock in her hands and returned it to it’s family of fellow rocks. She told me a story then, of how the rock had come to be all alone, complete with romance, intrigue, and betrayal. She was never without a book. And had read the complete Lord of the Rings Trilogy four times before the age of thirteen.
It is with this kind of imagination, passion, and love for stories, that Tess now wrote her young adult fantasy novels. She began writing her first novel, Ember, at age sixteen and didn't stop.

Tess Williams passed away on May 3, 2014.

This is an amazing series! Each book in the series just got better and better. The story alternated between Cyric and Ellia's viewpoints. "The Fallen Prince" really sets the stage for the next book, and then "The Fallen Kingdom" sets the stage for the next book. The plot and characters have so much depth, you find yourself really enjoying the viewpoints of each one. Cyric and Ellia have to face different things while they are apart in this book. Their characters really grow thoroughout the series. I loved Luffie and Tosch! This is a very clean book with no language and no sexual situations. There are handmaidens that you know what their job will be, but it is not graphically shown. I thoroughly enjoyed this entire series and I highly recommend it! My only complaint is there is a lot of typos in this series. The second and third books were a little better. There were misspelled words, grammatical errors, words in sentences that should have been left out, or sentences that needed more words to make sense. She used a couple of diiferent phrases that must be her way of saying something. For example, she used "he/she grew a smile" or he/she narrowed" which I assumed to be similar to a frown or maybe a squinching of their eyes. I usually will not read a book with that many errors, but this series was so amazing that I decided to overlook the errors and find out what happens to Cyric and Ellia.I still gave it a 5 star because the story and the characters were so well wrote!
