A fun fake engagement story! Jill and Aaron were friends and neighbors for years while growing up, a fact that helps this fairly short, very steamy fake-to-real romance work. Ms. Blackwood's writing gave this story the perfect blend of humor and romance--I laughed out loud nearly as much as I swooned while reading. Her characters feel real, and are likable despite their flaws (like geez, how can it take them almost a week to realize that they can't live without each other? Wink, wink...) I've had this author on my TBR radar for quite some time now, and will definitely be using my experience with this story as an excuse to go back and check out her backlist (especially book one in this series, Snowpacalypse. Because snopocalypse...someone might as well be benefiting from an excess of snow...) Rating: 4 stars / B+ I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I love the theme of this story - fake fiance but also best friends reunited. The history between Aaron and Jill was super sweet. I loved their inner thoughts and confessions of their past. Aaron was such a stand up guy with a totally delicious wicked side. Jill was a struggling single mom who desperately wanted to make it on her own. But how can you pass up a chance with a ridiculously hot man willing to be there for you in every way. The ending was very heartwarming. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

Aron is back in town to help his father with a few loss job and what he doesn’t count one is his old friend who is still hot and after all this time he still has thing for her. The end is so sweet and I loved that the story flies through without unimportant pages. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

4 stars Falling for the Fake Fiance by Jennifer Blackwood was a very entertaining read. From the first few pages I was hooked, I enjoyed watching Jill and Aaron interact. I voluntarily review an Advanced Reader Copy of the book! I REALLY enjoyed this book - from beginning to end! Jill is a really relatable character and you can't help but be in her corner as she tries to navigate life as a single mother to an exceptionally bright daughter (this really hit close to home for me as I was a single mother to an exceptionally bright daughter once upon a time). Her friends are hilarious and exactly the type of #GirlGang I'd love to be a part of. I thought the introduction of Aaron as a resolution to Jill's inheritance conundrum was genius! Their chemistry is off the charts and the banter between the two of them is EVERYTHING! I would've gladly gobbled up at least 100 more pages of the two of them interacting. Aaron is the epitome of a book boyfriend - gorgeous, hard-working, kind, sexy, and a dirty talker. I even loved Jill's daughter Emily - all of the characters were well thought out and that can be difficult to do in a shorter book. I give Falling For the Fake Fiance 4.5 out of 5 wine glasses and I look forward to reading a lot more from Jennifer Blackwood!

Jill was to get a quarter of her grandmother’s- Grammy- estate but will only get the money if she is married by her thirtieth birthday which was in two months. If Jill is not married the money will go to her grandmother’s favorite charity. Jill had been closer to her grandmother then her mother Deborah. Jill had a daughter named Emily who was seven years old who was very smart and went to a private school. Emily’s father- Jake- had not even stayed around to see what sex Emily was instead when Jill was in labor he stole her bank card and went to a casino. Every guy Jill ended up with just seemed to be garbage. Jill’s best friend’s were Mia and Kate. Jill was worried about keeping Emily at Brighton College Prep School. Jill wanted nothing more than to be out of her mother- Deborah’s and brother- Gage’s debt. They had been helping Jill for the last year pay the private school’s tuition. Maybe Jill had lost the ability to love. Then Jill let Kate talk her into a single’s speed dial social but that wasn’t going to well. Then Jill left the social to go up to the room Kate had said she was in when she knocked Aaron opened the door. Jill hadn’t seen Aaron in eleven years. Aaron had just got out of the army and was helping his father with his business until he started a job in D C. I like this story a lot. It had my interest from the first page of this book until the last. But it did drag a little for me. I liked the plot and the pace for the most part. I loved Jill and Aaron together and how Aaron was with Emily. I was rooting for Aaron and Jill. I also thought Emily added a lot to the story and enjoyed her. I did feel this was a little unrealistic that all of sudden Jill are Aaron realize they are in love but still enjoyed it. I loved the characters and the ins and outs and I recommend.

Jennifer Blackwood has another fantastic addition to her Snowpocalypse series. This installment features a harried single mother and her former neighbor temporarily in town; eager to start his new life. "Falling For the Fake Fiancé" has a "Gilmore Girls" vibe mainly conveyed through the heroine, Jill's, relationship with her mother. This is a super sexy friends to lovers romance. The hero and heroine are former next door neighbors who re-connect years later and enjoy a one-night-stand. Their paths continue to cross leading to the hero offering to make a huge sacrifice to help the heroine. An unforeseen circumstance the simple favor gets blown into an out of control production. The characters' growth is interesting. The heroine learns she deserves help without strings. The hero learns what he believes he doesn't want might be exactly what he needs. The journey and the destination make this book worth reading. I adore Jennifer Blackwood's books and I've read about half of them. She's become a go-to author for me. Her contemporary romances have a touch of humor, heart, and tons of steamy sex! Characters from the first book of the Snowpocalypse series are mentioned briefly. Just know that "Falling For her Fake Fiancé" is a definitely a Stand-Alone novel. The main characters are sympathetic, likable, and fun. Aaron is a loyal, protective, and sexually adventurous Alpha hero. Jill's an accurate portrayal of a overwhelmed working mother who's battling the PTA and raising a good kid. An every woman heroine. This novel is entertaining, sweet, romantic, and is wonderfully dirty. It hits all of the bases and is a fun read. when jill michaels' grammy dies and leaves her a chunk of money in falling for the fake fiancé, the last thing jill is expecting are strings. except of course there are strings, in order to collect her inheritance it seems that her grammy wanted jill married by her thirtieth birthday. given that jill's social life consists of pta meetings and shuttling her exceptional daughter from one after-school activity to another, it's not likely that marriage is in the cards. a shame because the money could make life easier—she wouldn't need to stress about paying the bills for her daughter's school, she might get around to replacing her old death trap of a car, she might be able to quit her second job. aaron collins is in town after serving eight years as a marine. he's only come back to charleston to help his dad with his construction business, but he has plans for a life in dc, running a security business with one of his buddies. when he runs into jill at a bed & breakfast he's renovating he's shaken by her effect on him. truth is he's loved jill since he first set eyes on her when she moved into the house next door. she's just never seen him. jill sees him just fine now. he's doubled in size, quite possibly. and he carries himself with a confidence and surety that he didn't have back in the day. but underneath all the good lucks and charisma, he's still aaron collins, her neighbor who makes her laugh. the guy she can talk to about anything. the man who will always want to save her. she doesn't tell him about her predicament, but her mother spills the beans. and here is where the fake fiancé bit comes into play. every time jill and aaron meet up the chemistry between them is off the charts. they cannot keep their hands off each other, no matter where they are and what they are doing and who else might be around. they are that hot for each other. and maybe aaron isn't thinking things through, i mean, he's definitely not thinking things through, because making a temporary commitment and putting off a solid job offer to help someone else collect an inheritance doesn't make much sense. their whole engagement plan makes no sense. and of course it blows up in their faces, quite spectacularly, several different ways. the problem is that both aaron and jill are scared to admit their feelings for each other. jill doesn't want to hold aaron back. she's already made poor partner choices and she has no desire to trap someone who doesn't feel the same way about her as she does about him. she has a daughter to think of. and really aaron is too much of a risk, the way she feels about him now, there's no way his leaving won't break her. and aaron is scared too. because he's still the guy that jillian never saw for years. so many times she picked the guy standing next to him. and every time he knew it was the wrong choice. he's loved her for so long he doesn't even recognize that it is love. that there is no one else he would give up everything for. she's it for him. but he's never been it for her. that's a lot of baggage to work through. but even with all that heavy stuff between them, the truth is that more than anything this book sizzles with aaron and jill's chemistry. and it's not just about sex, their camaraderie, the heft of their friendship makes the romance deeper and more meaningful. oh, one last thing, as the second snowpocalypse book in the series, we get a couple of updates on our favorite air marshall and his set designer girlfriend. and the

Single mom Jill Michaels works hard to keep her daughter in a private school so that she's challenged and stays focused and out of trouble, but she has to work two jobs and rely on her mom and friends to help with childcare just to make ends meet. When her grandmother leaves a quarter of her estate to Jill, she hopes she will finally see an end to her money troubles, but there's a catch. She has to be married by her 30th birthday, which is only two months away. Aaron Collins joined the military after high school and didn't look back, but ten years later he's back in town to help his dad wind down his construction business before joining his friends security business in Washington D.C. When the two run into each other again after all those years Jill is amazed at the man that Aaron turned into - and sparks fly. When Aaron proposes to help her out of her predicament, it seems like the perfect plan. A secret marriage, Jill gets her money, Aaron gets to spend time with Jill while he wraps up his dad's business. When he leaves town to take his job in D.C. they can both move on with their lives. But as the day grows closer for Aaron to leave for D.C., both begin to wonder how they're going to be able to move on. While Falling for the Fake Fiance has all of the steam we expect from Entangled, the relationship between Aaron and Jill is built on a friendship that was established in youth, and the emotions that grow through the storyline were more poignant and realistic because of the shared history between then. I was rooting for this couple from the start - and I was really looking forward to Jill realizing what an amazing guy Aaron had always been.

I received an ARC for my fair review for netgalley. I enjoyed book, it was really cute. This was a friends to lovers book. So we meet single mom Jill who recently loses her grandmother. And finds out that she will only get her inheritance which she desperately needs, if she marries by her 30th birthday, which is only two months away. She is upset and can't believe her grandmother would do this to her, but she really needs the money, because her daughter's school is really expensive. Her friend suggest that they go to a single's mixer to get her mind off of things, and she goes, and she ends up bumping into Aaron Collins, who used to be her neighbor. They used to be good friends in high school, but they haven't seen each other in along time, he was always attracted to her, she was just friends, but now the chemistry is off the charts. Aaron was not going to lose his chance with her, he is recently back from the Army and is helping his dad out with his business. By the end of the evening, they both don’t want the night to end, but they both know they can't have more due to circumstances, but things change. Aaron finds out the stipulation of grandmother's will, and decides to help Jill out, even though he knows he can't stay long, but it will be long enough to see her settled. The interactions of Aaron and Jill's daughter were sweet, and everything works out in the ends, don't miss out.

This was such a sweet, sexy story! It's 4.5 Stars for me! Jill is a single mom of a brilliant 7 year old daughter. A daughter so smart she had to put her in a private school she can't afford just to make sure Emily is getting everything she needs in her life. Her ex ran off before Emily was even born, and then he died last year in a motorcycle accident, so Jill and Emily have always been on their own. Jill's brother has been the only male role model in Emily's life, but he's constantly traveling. Jill's brother was the hero from book 1 in this series, which I read and liked it a lot as well. Jill's mother is a typical southern mom, butting into her business and freely giving her opinions on Jill's life. Jill was closer to her grandmother, but she just passed away and shocked Jill with a crazy provision in her will saying Jill will only inherit her portion if she's wed by her 30th birthday, which is in 2 months! Jill really needs that money to continue to afford Emily's pricey school. But where will she find a convenient husband in 2 months? Her 2 best friends talk her into going to a singles mixer at a local hotel, where she runs into Aaron. Aaron has just gotten out of the military, and he's back in town helping out with his dad's business briefly before returning to Washington D.C. to start a new private security job. He's doing some repairs at the local hotel, to help out his ailing dad, when he runs into Jill. Aaron and Jill have known each other since high school, and were next door neighbors. They were close friends, and Aaron always had a thing for her. But, they lost touch once he entered the military straight after high school. Jill is surprised but thrilled to see him again, and see what a strong, sexy man he's turned into. Aaron feels that familiar pull towards her and actually decides to act on it this time. They agree to one night only, but when Aaron finds out about the predicament preventing her inheritance, will he step up to help? Aaron and Jill's chemistry was steaming hot from the start. Their playful, sexy banter was funny and entertaining, and kept me chuckling the whole time I was reading. I really liked both of their characters, and I loved how they were together. They were really there for one another, and I loved that too. I enjoyed how invested Aaron was, even when he was trying not to be. He was a total sweetheart, and a dashing white knight all wrapped in one. I love fake fiance stories as a rule, and I really enjoyed this one. I also really loved that Aaron and Jill had history together, and weren't strangers. That put a different spin on this trope which worked really well for me. Jill's 2 best friends were fantastic side characters, and I'm hoping they'll be included in future books. I look forward to more in this loosely connected series. I highly recommend this one!

Single mom Jill Michaels has recently lost her grandmother. At the reading of the will, she finds out that the only way to get her inheritance is if she marries before her 30th Birthday, which is only two months away. Jill can't believe her grandmother would do this to her, but she needs the money to keep paying for her daughter's private school. She’s already working two jobs just to try to make ends meet. When her friend suggests going to a single’s mixer, she reluctantly agrees. What happens next is something she never saw coming…Aaron Collins. Aaron & Jill were good friends and neighbors back in high school. She never looked at him in any other way than a friend, but when she runs into him at the hotel, Aaron is all grown up and she’s definitely looking at him in a new light. Aaron has recently returned home from the Army and is helping his dad out with his business, one of the jobs being at the hotel to do some repairs. Aaron has always had a thing for Jill, but never acted on it. He left for the army right after high school, but has never forgotten about her. Seeing her again, even more beautiful than he remembered, he’s not passing up a chance to spend the evening with her catching up. By the end of the evening, they both don’t want the night to end. Both agreeing there can only be this one night together, they’re going to make the most of it. Aaron is leaving soon to take a job in D.C. and Jill has her daughter to think about and how she’s going to make things work, without getting the inheritance. But their one night together is more amazing than either of them could have imagined. Talk about smokin’ hot chemistry! Even though one night was all it was supposed to be, both can’t get each other out of their minds. What’s wrong with a little more fun before he leaves? When Aaron finds out about the stipulation in her grandmother’s will, he wants to be there for Jill and help her out. Even though he’s leaving in a just a short time, he wants to marry her so Jill and her daughter Emily will be taken care of. But real feelings get in the way and now Aaron doesn’t know what to do. Will they be able to make this work or will complications get in the way, leaving Jill in jeopardy of losing the inheritance and her heart? I really felt the chemistry between Jill & Aaron. I also loved that he wanted to be there for her and help her out. The interactions between Aaron & Jill’s daughter Emily were very sweet too! A very enjoyable read! Jennifer Blackwood is an auto-read author for me. *I received an ARC from the publisher for an honest review*

She's desperate, he's lovestruck. Not exactly an auspicious beginning to an everlasting love, but very conducive to an entertaining read. Falling For The Fake Fiancée is about finding the happiness of one's dreams, when the odds are stacked against success. Jill has lost hope. Her days consist of loving her daughter, going to work and a judgmental mother. Aaron could be the answer to her prayers. This boy next door, could end up being the man of her dreams, if she leads with her heart and not her head. Ms. Blackwood is a writer that has fun with her craft. Her characters are not ashamed to voice the thoughts we repress or follow through with the actions of the less courageous. Reading Jennifer Blackwood is always a pleasurable experience.

This is a fun romance begins with Jill, a single mom, learning that her grandmother's will requires her to be married by her thirtieth birthday (in two months), in order to inherit. Just one problem, she's not even dating anyone. Jill's girlfriends take her out to a speed-dating event, and after suffering through several inappropriate candidates, she escapes to her hotel room...except its not her room and her friends set her up. She is stunned when her childhood friend, Aaron, opens the door. She hasn't seen him since the day he left for the military ten years ago and he has turned into a very sexy man. Before long, Aaron has become entwined and invested in Jill's dilemma and their engagement takes on a life of its own and is out of their control. This novel is sweet and fun with just a bit of spice. I loved the characters and felt invested in their story. Fans of the genre will enjoy this book

Jill Michaels is a single mother, her daughter Emily's father having taken her money, left her high and dry and then died in a car accident. Despite her mother and grandmother having plenty of money, she has to work two jobs in order to keep her clever daughter at her fancy private school. After her grandmother dies, she learns that she could inherit one quarter of her Grammy's estate IF she is married by her 3oth birthday - only two months away! After a disastrous speed dating evening with her friends (and don't get me started on those frenemies), Jill thinks she is meeting one of her friends in her hotel room, instead she meets her former next door neightbour and high school friend Aaron Collins. Aaron is back in South Carolina to help out his Dad (who still lives next door to Jill's mother) with his handyman business, but is ithcing to get back to a private security job with one of his ex-Marine friends. I have to confess I misread the blurb for this book and was expecting more of the falling in love to take place AFTER they decided to secretly get married in order for Jill to get her inheritance, whereas much of the novella takes place before Jill and Aaron agree to have a sham marriage. Again, this is an Entangled Brazen imprint so the reader should expect a short, steamy novella. YOu definitely get this but I think I would have preferred less sex in public(ish) places and a bit more plot. I have only read one book by Jennifer Blackwood previously which was The Rule Book, I preferred that book, it had more depth and humour. But of course it was for a different branch of Entangled. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

At the reading of her beloved grandmother's will single mom Jill Michaels learns that the only way she can claim her inheritance is to marry before her thirtieth birthday, problem is she doesn't have a man in her life, nor does she really have time for one. But with her daughter's expensive private school fees piling up, she could really use the inheritance to pay for things. With no man on the horizon, her friends suggest she go to a dating mixer party to meet a suitor, that would be willing to play her fake husband, long enough for her to receive the inheritance. While she isn't so receptive to marrying a complete stranger, she also really isn't willing to let this opportunity slip through her fingers, so she reluctantly goes to the mixer. After meeting several duds she is ready to bail, but once again her friends come through for her in a big way... a strong, sexy, hunk of a man kind of way. The moment Aaron Collins learns that his teenage crush is in the same hotel that he is in he knows he has to meet-up with her and catch up. She was always his one regret, she was beautiful, popular, and he was always too chicken to make his move. But he is a changed man now, a very confident man now, and the moment she walks back into his life, he isn't about to let her slip away, without at least first making his interest in her known. Then he learns why she is at the hotel and the thought of her hooking up with another man from a dating mixer puts him on edge, no way is he letting someone else take her home. So he makes her an offer she can't refuse... I love a good reunion romance, and I have to say this one totally hit the mark, it was sexy, funny, and left me with a happy heart! These two walked onto the page, and I was instantly wrapped up in their story, they had some serious chemistry and I knew the minute they let loose, there were going to be some serious fireworks, and boy were there, I'm still seeing stars!! I thoroughly enjoyed my time with these two, and I am certain that if you give them the chance they will charm their way into your heart too!! Highly recommend this one, it is sure to satisfy all your reading must-have's and then some!! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.

Exceptional! The fake fiance trope may be old but Ms. Blackwood made it fresh and fun with her take on it. Her writing style is full of humor and snark and along with characters that are well developed make this a very enjoyable read. Jill and Aaron work great together and their chemistry jumps from the pages. And of course that chemistry makes ending what is suppose to be a short term relationship just a bit too hard! A great read and one you don't want to miss. I highly recommend it.
