Falling Under by Jasinda Wilder

My name is Colton Calloway. You've heard part of my story, but it turns out there's more. My little girl, Kylie, is all grown up. Seventeen, beautiful, and talented, just like her mother. And just like Nell, my daughter seems to have fallen for a bad boy, one with a lot of darkness and a lot of secrets.

• *

You thought you knew the whole story. You thought it was over. Happily ever after for everyone.

You were wrong.

My name is Oz Hyde, and you've never met me. I'm part of the story, too, but I'm an aside, a quick line or two you'd all but forgotten about. Well guess what? I've got my own story to tell.

Buckle up, 'cause this is gonna be a hell of a bumpy ride.

I'm so grateful for Jasinda Wilder sharing her talent with us. It was like Christmas morning to wake up March 14, 2014, and find out that she was releasing a third book in the Falling Into series. Falling Under is the story of Colt and Nell's (from Falling Into You) daughter, Kylie. The book is fast forwarded into the future with Kylie being 17. Her best friend is Ben, son of Jason and Becca (from Falling Into Us). In Falling Under we are introduced to Oz, a bad boy from first impressions, but we again learn don't judge a book by its cover. Falling Under is written from Colt's point of view and Oz's point of view. I loved that we heard from the male POV. From Colt, who had his own reputation when Nell et him to now being the father of 17 year old Kylie. Kylie is smart, mature, and talented like her parents. They've done a beautiful job of raising her. From Oz who had physical and mental scars like Nell and Colt. Colt could identify with Oz and it scared him but he knew that he turned out okay so he was willing to give Oz the benefit of the doubt. I loved the relationship dynamics in this book. We see Colt and Nell as husband and wife and parents to Kylie. We see friendship tearing apart at the seams with Ben and Kylie. Jason and Becca enter into the picture and we get a glimpse of their life. Oz and his mather, who is doing the best she can because of her tormented past. We see Kylie believing in Oz when he doesn't know how to believe in himself; all carefully woven into a jaw dropping last few chapters of the book. I knew something was up but I wasn't expecting THAT!!! I won't give it away. You will have to read it yourself. Pick up Falling Under and the two prior books before it if you haven't read this series. It's like putting on your most comfortable pair of jeans - the fit never goes away! that's what this series feels like to me. As a P.S. - hint, hint Jasinda..... I really want to out about Ben and his adventure - he has money in his pocket and a tank full of gas. Where does it take him ?????

so here's the thing - I adore the Falling series. They are beyond wonderful However I read the Ever series and they feel like they were written by a different author. The scenes are way too graphic - in a not sexy way. I adore the writing in the Falling series, and hope for more like this and not the other.

Falling Under is BRILLIANT!Jasinda Wilder gave her fans a fantastic surprise.  She released Falling Under, the third book in the Falling series.  No one had a clue this book was coming.  She released Falling Under on the one year anniversary date of the first book, Falling Into You. Nell and Colt captured my heart.  Their story, their strengths, and their journey stayed with me long after I finished the book.  They became my all time favorite book couple.  I honestly didn’t think Jasinda could top their story.  Then she published Falling Into Us.  Jason and Becca were just as dynamic as Nell and Colt.  Their story was completely different and just as compelling.  What was impressive about these two books was the strength of friendship these four people shared.  This series became my all time favorites.  So when I saw that Jasinda had published Falling Under, I had to stop everything I was doing to read this book!  I was glued to the pages until the very last word.  I was stunned!  Falling Under captured my heart.  It renewed my love for the characters in the previous books.  It gave me goosebumps to see how successful their lives had become.  What impressed me the most was how these characters grew as people.  They followed their dreams, built families, strengthened their love, and yet they never forgot where they came from and how they got to this point in their lives.  They became wiser, more compassionate, and more understanding. The writing in Falling Under is brilliant!  Jasinda Wilder took a unique approach in her delivery of this story.  It was a risky move because it could of changed the way her readers looked at their favorite couples in the previous books.  It’s very hard to imagine what our lives are going to be like in the future, let alone know how our emotions, outlooks, and personal beliefs can change.  We all think we are going to have a happy future.  We all think we are going to be the perfect parents.  We all think we are going to have the perfect kids.  We all think our kids are going to be happy.  As our lives evolve, our dreams and future do too.  Jasinda captured that evolution in the lives of Nell & Colt and Jason & Becca.  She pulled other characters from the books and brought their lives to our attention.  And in the end, Falling Under was magnificent. Falling Under is a new story, a new couple, and a celebration of the loves we experienced in Falling Into You and Falling Into Us. Nell and Colt had found their happily ever after.  They have become successful in their music career and have built a good life for themselves.  Their daughter, Kylie is now seventeen and on her way to adulthood.  She is extremely smart, very well grounded, musically talented, and has inherited the very best traits from both her parents.  She is a dynamic young woman with a bright future.  But like any kid, she has her own ideas, dreams, and determination. She knows what she wants out of life.  When she meets Oz Hyde, she knows she wants him.  It doesn’t matter that he is a bad boy.  It doesn’t matter that he is from the wrong side of the town.  It doesn’t matter that he has a lot of darkness in him.  She loves him the way he is.  She will defy others opinions, turn her back on a life long friendship, and pursue the boy who makes her feel complete. Oz Hyde is the very definition of bad boy.  He sets his own rules and makes no apologies on who he is or how he lives his life.  He knows Kylie is out of his league, but he wants her anyways.  He knows he might taint her with his darkness and his ugly life.  But for once, he wants beauty and goodness in his life.  He wants Kylie. Colt recognizes a bit of himself in Oz.  He is frightened his daughter is heading for heartache.  He can sympathize with Oz because he has been where this young man is.  He can see this relationship is going to cause an emotional storm in every way.  People he loves are going to get hurt.  As a parent he wants something better for his daughter.  As an adult he can understand their relationship.  As a man he understands Oz. This story will keep the reader enraptured! Now…the reason why I say that the writing in this book is brilliant.  Jasinda wrote this book from two points of view.  She wrote this book from Oz’s POV and from Colt’s POV.  The reader was able to get into Oz’s head and understand his relationship with Kylie.  What made this book so enthralling was reading Colt’s POV.  He is looking at this relationship as a parent, former bad boy, wounded soul, and as a happy man.  His perspective will floor the readers. Jasinda Wilder….BRILLIANT! Thank you for writing this book!

A speedy read. And typical of Wilder a sweet sexy storyline. The future of Colt and Nell played off perfectly. I had no trouble falling into step with 20 year leap. The story was all Oz and Kylie, with just the right amount of Colt and Nell. I did appreciate that the second narrator was Colt and not Nell, it was a great spin, And it flowed wonderfully.

Jasinda has done it again.  I absolutely LOVE the Falling series.  I don't think this one was as tense as the first 2.  The story was a great one.  I love how we get to see Colt and Nell grown up and  meet their daugher Kylie.   Colt has turned out to be such a good daddy.  I love the interaction he has with Kylie, Oz and Ben.  He has been on both sides of the fence and he tries to be fair and not give orders.

On March 14th, the one year anniversary of Falling Into You, Jasinda Wilder surprised her faithful readers with an unexpected new release. we had all thought that the story was over with Falling Into Us, but to our wonderful surprise, Ms. Wilder decided to bring us more of the story. This surprise book is just as good as the first two! In this book we jump ahead many years. Colt and Nell’s daughter is now basically grown and this is her story. We get to follow her as she falls for the bad boy, and faces the challenges that go along with that. We get to meet Oz, the “bad boy”, and learn more of his story. The story shows that looks can be deceiving and that a person’s looks don’t define them. We get to catch up with Colt and Nell along the way. I loved seeing their love story continue so many years down the road. We also have a little time to catch up with Becca and Jason while getting to know their son. We also get a twist in the story that no one was expecting. The story, like the others, includes a lot of music. I love books that have music in them. The book is also written entirely from a male point of view. We see the story through Oz and through Colt. It is a very interesting perspective. This is an awesome book and a great addition to an awesome series. Five big stars to Jasinda Wilder!!

OMG! This book was totally amazing! I loved every word, emotion and pain that it brought. The Falling series is one of my all time favorites and this book is such a great addition to the series. You fall in love with Oz and Kylie and you get more of Colt and Nell! The story will rip your heart out and put it back together. Jasinda Wilder's books are always an emotional ride that you never want to end! Her characters have you FALLING UNDER their spell and keep you there long after you finish their story. I can't get enough of her books. If you loved the first two book you will love this one....it is a must read!

There has been a growing trend lately which are books written about main characters children. Some have been hits and most of them misses. Falling Under is definitely a HIT ! I shouldn’t have ever doubted that Jasinda Wilder would write another beautiful book in this series. It can be read as a standalone but I strongly recommend reading the other books in this series also. She starts off with a beautiful dedication to her readers. The book focuses on Oz and Kylie’s relationship. Kylie is Nell and Colton’s daughter whom we were introduced to in Falling into You. I loved that the book was told from multiple POV’s. I enjoyed being able to catch up with them and what they’ve been up to for the 15+ years. Both Nell and Colton see themselves in Oz and Nell wants to shield her daughter from even a fraction of the pain she’s experienced. I loved the openness of their relationship and Kylie always knows she can turn to her parents.  Oz and Kylie’s relationship evolves from friendship into something more. Its then that Kylie is forced to face truths not only about her relationship with Oz but also with her best friend Ben. This truly is a beautiful story and has one of my favorite epilogues and post scripts. Now I just need to know if Ben will get his own book. It was definitely set up nicely for one. I would buy it and read it in a heartbeat. - …”You light up the blackness that has been my life, and I don’t know how to ever be the kind of man you need and deserve, but I want to try. For you, for me, and for us. For the possibility of us.”

Another excellent read in the Falling series by Jasinda. I really like this bunch of characters and I particularly enjoyed the mystery surrounding Oz's father. It was impossible not to feel deeply connected and concerned for Kylie and Oz. There were moments where I thought Jasinda was about to rip my heart out of my chest. And of course, I loved the update on characters from the first 2 novels, Nell & Colt (Kylie's parents) and Ben's parents (Becca & Jason).  Next up in this series is Ben's story. It's bound to be as good as all of its predecessors.

I loved all three books in this series.  They can be read alone but have more meaning when you read them in order.  Couldn't stop thinking about these books when I was finished reading.   Excellent!!

Left me feeling incomplete! The one thing I know when I pick up a Jasinda Wilder book is that I am going to get an extremely emotional and heart wrenching book, and Falling Under did not disappoint on that count. I just finished reading it last night. This book allows us to catch up with Nell and Colt and their 17-year-old daughter Kylie, as well as catch up with Jason and Becca and their son, Ben, to an extent. Plus we are introduced to Oz. I really liked Oz. He is a bad boy who is way more than meets the eye. He is an extremely talented young man and his story was extremely touching and heartfelt. He has been through a lot in his young life, and most of that stems from the fact that he does not know who his father is, his mother want talk about his father at all, and she constantly moves them around, so he never has a chance to set any roots down. Speaking of his mom, my heart bled for her after her entire story was revealed. Wow!! What a brave woman she is to keep going on and trying to move forward. She has been through so much and, in the end, I can't say that I fault her for the choices that she made when it came to how she lived her life or how she raised Oz. I loved the fact that we were able to reconnect with Nell and Colt after all of these years and see that they are still going strong, still making beautiful music together, as well as find out how their daughter Kylie turned out. All I have to say, is My Goodness, what a great dad Colt is!! However, I am sorry to say this, but I was not a big fan of Kylie's. I'm sure I am in the minority on that count, but I did not like her treatment of her best friend Ben at all. He was supposed to be her best friend and he just didn't matter at all once Oz showed up. I had a real problem with that. I didn't see the friendship on her side of the equation. Kylie fell in love with Oz and that was beautiful, but her treatment of Ben was not, and it just got to the point where I didn't really care about what was going on with her, even though I wanted more of Oz. So, with that said, I am really hoping for another book, because my heart is breaking for Ben!! I need a book for Ben, because I am feeling at a lost when it comes to Ben! Everything feels extremely incomplete with the way the book was left. What happened to Ben??!! I would really like to read more about Ben. Ben is an amazing young man. He is talented, gorgeous, athletic just like his dad, and he honestly did not deserve to be treated the way he was in this book. Yes, the angst between him and Oz was great and really added to the story, but he deserves more. He deserves real happiness and a happily ever after. I also want more from Jason and Becca. I really missed them in this story, and based on what occurred in the story, I really thought they would have had more of a role in the story. They are Nell and Colt's best friends, and they were basically nonexistent in the story. Jason and Becca were always my favorite couple, although I love Nell and Colt to death. I want to know if they had another child, because Falling Into Us left off with Becca talking about her willingness to have another child. It is obvious that, despite Becca having a very strict childhood and Jason having a really crappy home life, esp. thanks to his father, that they did an excellent job raising Ben. So, I am begging Jasinda Wilder to write another book in this series. One that features Ben, Becca and Jason, and Ben's happily ever after. I feel incomplete and I need closure. I felt as though I had more closure at the end of Falling Into You/Us than I do after this one. Having said all of that, I enjoyed the story, although there were seriously a lot of similarities between Nell and Colt's story and Oz and Kylie's story that I thought were a bit cheesy and could have been left out. I understand the saying that girls tend to fall for guys that like their dads, and Oz was definitely a lot like Colt, but I think at times, the similarities between what went on in Colt and Nell's relationship and what occurred in Oz and Kylie's relationship was a bit too much. I much preferred the differences in the relationships, it made the story much more genuine. I really loved the fact that the story alternated between Oz' and Colt's POV, but I did think that Nell's POV would have been a bit more helpful too. Overall, it was a good addition to the series, but I am seriously hoping for a book on Ben. Please, Jasinda Wilder write a book for Ben.

Jasinda Wilder did a great job with this unexpected book. Kylie and Oz's story was really well done and the chapters told from Colt's perspective were just as good. It was a great way to spend an afternoon and get lost in this story. I would give it 4.5 stars.
