A wonderful story about family, sisterhood and love. Perfect for sitting by the pool or cuddling up on the couch. You won't want to put it down.

This is a story about two women whose lives are forever changed after an accident. Karson is a young college student who is excited to start her adult life. She is in love with her long time boyfriend, James and is already thinking about wedding dresses and setting up house. She is close to her family and lives on the same college campus as her older brother, Brad. Everything is going picture perfect in her life. Addison runs a Magazine empire in New York City. She can have and do almost anything she wants, except allow herself to be loved by the man of her dreams. A dark secret holds Addison back and pushes her prove herself as a top-notch businesswomen. After a fatal car accident, the lives of these two women are forever changed. Addison regrettably divulges a secret, while Karson finds her life in utter chaos and searching for answers. Not until all the pieces of the puzzle are together can the lives of these women move forward. Let me start by saying I loved this book. I admit I felt a connection on a number of levels to this story (I don't want to say what because I'll be telling you too much of the story). Let's just say I cried a number of times. I enjoyed how smooth and effortless this novel was to read, it flowed nicely moving in between the two lives of these women. There is mystery, heartache, loss and finding home-what a great recipe for a novel! If you are looking to read a good book, but don't have a ton of time to read-this is your book! I know I did not write much of a synopsis this time around and I'm sorry, but I feel like you just need to go read this for yourself.

This is a great storyline with the missing puzzle piece and such a unique idea. I really enjoyed the characters, especially Addison! It was so much fun to read and couldn't wait for the ending. This book is one I can read over and over again, and have! I loved it. I hope she writes a sequel. I hope to read about them again with new plots.

Family Pieces is the type of book that makes you realise how much you appreciate your family and friends because life goes on only when you have that support. Author, Misa Rush has told Family Pieces through a dual narrative -- lead characters Addison and Karsen. Addison, almost 40, and Karsen, 21 both share equal parts of enjoyment, and I loved how their differences balanced each other out. Addison, a workaholic, owner of Urbane, is straight-forward, yet as a reader I felt for the poor woman because I could tell she'd taken the corporate world by storm, winning gold, but personally, her mother's serious illness and her relationship status (what status?) said otherwise. Karsen, a college student, grieving daughter, with a do-I-still-have-a-boyfriend status is young and still coming-of-age. Reading this story continually shocked me. It varied between a light and deeper read with storylines based on mothers and daughters, pregnancy, death, secrets, boyfriends, friends, and babies. What made this book standout was Misa Rush's style of "parallels". Karsen's mother had died and Addison's mother is seriously ill; Karsen's "perfect" relationship with her long-time boyfriend who she'd planned to marry is falling apart while her best friend, Hanna, is falling for someone else; Karsen is trying to figure out the secret her mother left behind when she died while Addison has spent a lifetime hiding a secret from everyone including best friend, Emily. This book is a definite recommend! Family Pieces goes into themes of grief, love and friendship, weaving through not only Addison's and Karsen's stories, but also those closest to them too. All into a novel about the ones who stick by you, and valuing what events happen in your life. 4 stars. Great read!

Family Pieces is the beginning of an American family story that will keep you reading until the end. Our heroine. a college student, must face realities of the hand that life has dealt to her. Written in a light refreshing style, this book provides a summer or weekend read that will keep you awaiting a sequel.
