Strange and conflicting changes. We will be traveling and living
in Space and under water. We will have an even better network
of communications and transportations but we will still need to
have a vacation and to relax from this antiseptic new
environment. People will need an escape and most people dream
of the future and the past, because no one romanticizes about
their own time.

Dr. Anne Ross is owner of Fantasy Time, Inc., a small firm tucked away in a spaceport. Its mission is simple, but profound: to provide their customer the vacation of a lifetime, by shuttling them back in time to almost any period of Earth's history. The story follows Dr. Ross as she escorts two of her guests--a young lady from Earth, and a young lady from the planet Massian-- through a visit to the American antebellum south, and to New York City of the Roaring Twenties, respectively. The otherwise routine vacations are severely complicated by equipment malfunctions and unintentional, but passionate, romantic entanglements. Whether they arrive safely home--or whether they even want to--is the subject of Ms. Rabinowitz's story. It is an clever look at a fascinating premise: time travel as recreation. Ms. Rabinowitz has taken a crafty and imaginative stab at the subject, and her effort is well worth a look.
