This book is well written and articulate. These authors are board certified physicians and one is a also a weight loss specialist. With all of the different diets that have been presented to me over the years it's refreshing to have two well qualified doctors basically laying it on the line and basically saying: here is how your body works, the research is out there, but we have done a lot of that for you, and here are many references from the time periods described in the book that you can research yourself by investigating the works cited pages that anyone can research on their own, Anyone from other doctors who understand scientific journals to your average person who may not. The authors use great examples to drive home points, such as, patient interactions from hands one experience.Personally I like the use of cartoons to give a bit of humor to some examples. I was referred by a good friend to read it, and I am glad I took his advice. I have tried low carb diets in the past and low calorie diets as well. You name it and chances are I have probably tried it.. After I completed this book, I tried some of the suggestions because the book resonated with me. I did not feel like the authors were trying to convince me that they were the leading authorities on the world's weight problems. I felt more like they cared and just wanted to explain to me that fads come and go, but changes in habits are important, so just be aware of what you eat and the weight loss will follow. This is why I think Fat Me not deserves high marks. Enjoy! .
