Fatal Error

Fatal Error

by Joseph H. Sharlitt

Editorial Reviews

Sharlitt doesn't argue the guilt or innocence of the Rosenbergs. Rather, he indicts the American criminal justice system for a series of decisions and non-decisions which led to their sentencing and execution. The sentencing was based not upon the actual crime, but on Judge Irving Kaufman's presumption that the Rosenbergs gave the Russians the atomic bomb, and were therefore responsible for the Korean War and the attendant death of 50,000 Americans. For a general audience. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
