OVERALL GLOSS VARNISH

"An outstanding romantic suspense." —RT Book Reviews, 4.5 stars, on Fatal Justice

She looked into the dead face of the man she'd dined with the night before…

Standing over the body of a Supreme Court nominee, Lieutenant Sam Holland is hip-deep in another high-profile murder case. The fact that she was one of the last people to see Julian Sinclair alive just complicates things even more. On the plus side, her relationship with Senator Nick Cappuano is heating up—but it's also attracting a lot of unwanted media attention and blinding flashbulbs.

The pressure is on for Sam to find Sinclair's killer, but a new lead in her father's unsolved shooting puts her in unexpected danger. When long-buried secrets threaten to derail her relationship with Nick, Sam realizes that while justice is blind, mixing romance with politics has the potential to be fatal…

Read the first in this series and loved it but it goes downhill from there. The murder/detective story line is great but the cheesy harlequin-type romantic relationship story line is semi gag worthy. I love a good mystery and this one is tarnished by the overly descriptive sex scenes that occur seemingly every other chapter.

Didn't like that Marie pushed her political view on the reader. There are good and bad with both liberals and conservatives. The slant that conservatives are bigots and killers and pro choice is the only way to go turned me off. She is a good writer and should leave the political preaching out.

A none stop adventure of love, heart ache and justice. This is a must read in the "Fatal" series and one that is definite on the keeper shelf. The nonstop action and suspense was well written and the love story wasn't over the top, but written so that you are rooting not only for the lead couple, but for some of the supporting cast, who also seem to have found love. Mrs. Force keeps you guessing till the end, when the villain isn't who you expect but lives are changed forever.

I was under the impression that this was detective story but it appears the author could not come up with a full story.  So instead there is a lot of filler.  Horny detectines get laid, politics,  religious guilt, romance, unnecessary story lines and, oh yeah, a couple of people get killed, quick investigation.  The end. I don't care enough about Sam and Nick to follow the series and their way to detailed sex life.

This was a great story and I love the banter between Sam and Nick and enjoy watching them sort out how their respective jobs will have on their love. The secondary characters were great and I liked how they all interacted with one another.

I really did enjoy this book! I have already gotten the next one. I would like to see more of a "story" instead of sex scenes.

I loved book two just as much as I loved the first in the series. Romantic suspense is my favorite genre and "Fatal Justice" has has not disappointed me. Nick and Samantha are such strong characters in the books that they complement each other. There are many twists in each story even if you think you know who did it, but the strength in the story is Sam and her detectives with a lot of Nick on the side. I look forward to book three which I will be starting soon. 4.5 Stars!!

Favorite Quotes: Closing her eyes tight against the rush of emotion, she slipped her arm around him and burrowed into his embrace, painfully aware that sometimes love - even this kind of love - wasn't enough. Fine! I'll give it up! But when Nick calls begging you to assist in his suicide, you'll have only yourself to blame. I'm a total gorilla without my caffeine. Harry says I have to give up soda. Entirely. Because of my stomach... I'm already going through withdrawal. And it's all Nick's fault. Seriously. He must be punished. Your caring concern is ruining my plans to stab you with a rusty steak knife for subjecting me to the most thorough poking and prodding of my life - and as someone who's been through infertility testing, that's saying something. My Review: Impossible to conceive but the second book in the series is even better the first, which was excellent. The storyline was extremely active and non-stop intrigue with multiple murders, kidnapping, car chases, abduction, hostage taking, accidents, shootings, injuries, arguments, missing persons, manhunts, professional concerns, and medical issues; all while several new relationships were blooming among their staff, and a tender and intensely passionate love affair was deepening between two powerful people, one of whom was also stupendously stubborn and complicated. The writing was stellar, engrossing, amusing, captivating, and suspenseful; yet still easy to follow. I am in awe of this author and don't see myself ever tiring of these complex yet highly endearing characters.

Hot sex, hot crimes, I loved FATAL JUSTICE!  This is the first time I have read any of Marie Force's books but what a way to get into a series.  Loved the characters and the action ( in the bedroom and out!)  The mystery kept me interested all the way till the end and it was so go the book went fast.  I cant wait till I can get ahold of more! I received this book from goodreads in exchange for a review
