DAKOTA DANE IS ABOUT TO TELL A LIE SHE'LL WISH SHE HADN'T. Because her lie is dangerous, sexy, and just showed up on campus, angry as hell and looking for her...

Ugly duckling Dakota Dane has a new boyfriend. He's male-model gorgeous, built to perfection, wealthy, and smart. He is also a lie. As in, 100% fabricated. Does it matter that Dakota has a perfectly good reason for making him up? Not really. Not when Dakota's made-up boyfriend shows up in the flesh.

So is she crazy? All signs point to maybe. But the walking, talking enigma with the deadly vibe isn't about to give her any answers or let her out of his sight. And with college just around the corner, Dakota fears her dreams of a bright future have just collided with a dark rabbit hole...

Such a simple word, isn't it? But there's nothing simple about it. Not for me, anyway. Not when it comes to this man. I have no idea who the hell he is, where he came from, or what he wants, but his dangerous vibe tells me I should run away and never look back.

But I can't.

Because as much as he scares the hell out of me, his sinfully dark gaze and what it does to me is ten times more powerful.

And I know I want something I shouldn't. I should want my sanity. I should want college and parties and this dream I've waited for my whole life. I should want to keep that promise I made myself back in high school to make something of my life.

But now I'm looking at him, his powerful body, his predatory gaze, his sinfully shaped lips, and I know I'll never be able to walk away. So I simply keep lying to myself about there being a reason for all this. I simply tell myself it must be fate.

Mimi has done it again. She has written another " I-have-to-take-the-day-off-work-to-read" novel. I love the snarky spot-on internal dialogue with which she infuses her heroine's mind and the triple knot plot that chases her to the end. Did I mention the OH-SO-HOT fella that is giving her a reality melt down? Lies do catch up to you sometimes in surprising ways.

I'm a huge fan of Mimi and read everything she writes. Her style of writing draws me in and I can't put her books down. As expected, Mimi does it again! A HOT leading man (of course) and a female that I liked and wanted to see where their story went. What a fantastic & fun read that I definitely recommend.

You've done it again. I couldn't stop reading. The only bad part was the end because it, you know, ended. I can't wait for more books in this series. Please don't ever get tired of writing. We'll never get tired of reading.

You can't help having a love hate relationship with Mimi Jean. You can't help loving her characters, witty dialog and plots, but hate the cliffhangers and the waiting between book releases. FATE fills that void wonderfully. Fun with characters that feel like long lost friends without the, as all dread from Mimi Jean, cliffhanger. Keep up your wonderful writing Mimi Jean, and if could you write a series of prequels for Santiago and Dakota's dad I would be in heaven.

Mimi has done it again. I loved it. The right combo of humor and action. The part where the cabin is on fire and Dakota sees Paolo wet his hair and she like, "oh yes please god save the hair" hahahaha I laughed out loud so many times. It was amazing. I enjoied that the ending was a HEA ending, even though I love Mim's cliffhangers :) this is a book that I will read over and over again because I enjoied it that much. And if anyone knows where I could get some Spy Kids training I would gladly sign up with Dakota. Lol The characters were very relatable, Dakota could be any girls BFF and Paolo is any gals dream guy. Bottom line I love it and will be recommending it to any and everyonr :) Great Job Mimi :)

Mimi Jean proves that she doesn’t need Cimil to write a kicka$$ book!! (Sorry Cimil) This book an adrenaline rush disguised as a book. Dakota Dane is a seemingly ordinary eighteen year old dealing with being an outsider even with other outsiders. In an effort to deal with her social awkwardness she lies about having a boyfriend and grabs some random photo from the internet. Remorse sets in the next day, until her made up boyfriends suddenly appears in her life very real and very yummy. The rest of the story that unfolds has you wondering if maybe the whole book is crazy. Even though Dakota is an eighteen year old girl, I still found myself connecting with her. Sympathizing with her when she questioned her sanity; panicking when she panicked; crying when she cried and laughing with her and at her every step of the way. Then there is Santiago. If the man on the cover is any indication, YUM doesn’t begin to cover it. Though he is very run of the mill hero for a story, he is a great character that helps give Dakota a run for her sanity. The other characters in the story serve a purpose but in the end these are the only two characters that matter. The story itself is where the adrenaline rush comes from. It is not your standard, here are your characters, and here is the plot. At first the story gradually unfolds but never enough that made it predictable.  If anything once one question was answered there were tons more unanswered. Towards the end of the book I felt like I was in a race I didn’t even realize I was running. Fantastic job with story’s tempo and plot reveals which made for one hell of a ride.

Oh ny goodness, the danger a little lie can lead to!  Mimi Jean is a brilliant author who has written a very twist and turn novel that pulls you in quite cleverly and you HAVE to keep reading to see where it's gonna end up. Wow! It's worth the time you'll spend.
