Overview

Tasmyn Vaughn didn't expect much when her dad's job moved them to a small town in Florida; it was just another new school. But King is a town founded by magic and steeped in mystery, and soon Tasmyn's ability to hear others' thoughts is the least of her worries.

There's Ms. Lacusta, the science teacher who just might be teaching more than chemistry, and then there's Nell Massler, the ultimate mean girl whose extracurricular activities include blood rituals. And she wants Tasmyn's blood next.

Entangled in a web of first love, quirky and secretive townsfolk, magic and blood spells, she discovers the town's secrets aren't just bizarre, they're deadly.

In the first book of this paranormal young adult series, we are introduced to Tasmyn, a high school student who can read minds. Her unique gift causes her and her parents to move quite a bit so she has lead a very sheltered and lonely life. They have just moved to King, Florida . At school, she meets Michael and it is love at first sight (luckily for both of them). For the first time in her life, Tasmyn makes friends. Unfortunately, she also attracts the attention of a group of mean girls who are dabbling in witchcraft, with the help of a teacher. She must use her gifts and summon her bravery to survive their plans. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to read minds...and fall in love, check out this fabulous book!

I just finished Fearless and truly enjoyed it. Tasmyn is a believable female character, and even with her special talent that is out of this world, you can imagine yourself befriending this new girl and making her feel welcome. You just know she'd be a great friend. The love story is sweet, and I can't wait for the second installment.

A great book on more than one level. Not only was it entertaining and a good concept but, it had depth that a lot of novels lack and deeper themes like using your talents responsibly, and parent and child dynamics.

The story line was interesting and the characters well done. It could have been a little shorter and had less discussion about Tasmyn's eating habits.

I admit I am a little old for this YA book. Okay, a lot old. It is close to a four star book, but I am rating this novel from a grandmother's view point and a grandmother, who does not like paranormal books. This book was free, it contains about 650 pages of story, has about 50 pages of author's bragging rights and other info and after the cliff hanger ending, there is an excerpt from the next book in the series, BREATHLESS. BREATHLESS costs $3.99. The editing in FEARLESS was not perfect, but it was not annoying either. This is a very clean, paranormal romance about a Jr. in high school. She can read minds, has moved around a lot and finally started to make friends, including a boyfriend. Some of her classmates are into some pretty scary stuff and are not the most pleasant of people. This book, with its strange teachers, bullies, over protective parents and teenagers just being teenagers, held my interest and in a lot of ways was true to life. I recommended it to my grand daughter. I doubt if I continue the series, but if she would like too, I would be glad to purchase the books for her. This book is appropiate for ages 14 to 19 and those young at heart. Chick lit. I liked the boyfriend having to work for the family's business and him driving a hand me down, manual shift car, I would give my eye teeth for. The town's carnie dynamics and heirtage were very interesting as well. The Shakespeare not so much. AD

3 stars - the story line was interesting but very long 800+ pages. It needed a good editor to cut the rambling and very detail dialogue. There was to much of unimportant story telling and very little action. I ended up skipping paragraphs and pages to get past the filler. It is a good story, but it has a lot of boring spots. I won't be buying the rest of the series andvery happy this was a free book. I would not spend any money on this bookor the othets. Plus i will be deleying it from my library for I definitely will not re-read it. It is just okay book interesting story line and characters but way to long

Good Teen Romance book with a twist. She hears others thoughts. The suspense keeps you going trying to figure out who is going to do what. Totally enjoyable.
