Fergunakil: A Tale of the Final Fall of Man
The Molren fled into the night, with the Damorakind furious on their heels. And for centuries they ran, and hid, and were whittled down one ship at a time, devoured by the rabid xenophobia of the Cancer in the Core. Then, one day, five hundred aki'Drednanth threw off their chains, slew their Damorakind masters and saved the Molran Fleet from certain destruction at the hands of their pursuers. They joined the Fleet and earned the eternal reverence and gratitude of the greater Molran species. And, for reasons never adequately explained, they brought the Fergunak with them. "Fergunakil" is the story of the Astro Tramp 400 and her intrepid-by-lack-of-better-option crew, just trying to survive another day in a cosmos that seems determined to kill them all. Their mission is a mystery, their Captain is a possibly-insane recluse, their passengers are telepathic ice-monsters capable of killing with their minds, their destination is the most dangerous place in the galaxy, and their pilot is teaching his pet weasel to fly the ship.
