Chapter 1

Colleen Bryant’s shoulder ached from the repeated use of the cane on Senator Clemmons’s back. She was admiring her pattern and judging his pain level when he sighed and release shook through him.

“You didn’t ask my permission,” she said with a twinge of cold hatred.

“I’m sorry, Mistress.”
She strode across the dungeon to put the cane away. Her boots clacked ominously on the lacquered floor. Picking up a leather quirt, Colleen strode back over to him and waited until he shut his eyes and whimpered.

“Count,” she ordered, and whacked the small whip on his bare buttocks with a snap of her wrist.

He hissed an indrawn breath of pain and gritted out one through ten.

Colleen set her jaw, annoyed that his selfishness denied both of them the level of satisfaction they were striving for. If he didn’t pay so well, and turned a blind eye in directions she didn’t want anyone to look, she would have given him over to another Domme.

“Thank you, Mistress,” he panted.

Normally, she’d soothe a vitamin A and E salve over her submissive’s marks and fetch him a glass of cold water while he came down from the endorphin high. Today, she snapped her fingers and one of the other dungeon submissives scurried over to assist the senator.

“Thank you,” Colleen heard him sigh again before she slammed the door.

Her hands, encased in black leather gloves, clenched into fists. She forced herself to relax one finger at a time. It wasn’t as if she had been planning to orgasm during the session. Hell, the senator wanted just humiliation and someone to beat his ass, not an energetic sex scene. Still, there should be a connection between a Domme and sub—a trust that the senator would never give her. Colleen missed the feeling of being given the gift of absolute obedience.

But she’d gone in there knowing that Clemmons was a shitty sub. Now it was her turn to sigh. He was trying to learn the concept of letting go in order to achieve a more intense and satisfying orgasm. She’d thought that this time he’d trust her enough to take him the distance so he could fully immerse himself in submission. She shook her head. Not going to happen. The senator always rushed to orgasm, as if he was afraid it would be taken away from him. Biting her lip, Colleen wondered if she could get him to bring his wife to a session.

“All work and no play makes Colleen a dull girl.” Dante uncoiled himself from the wall he had been leaning on and caught up to her in three easy strides. Colleen had walked right by him without even noticing he was there. She gave him a sneer over her shoulder. Speaking of men who needed some time in her dungeon . . .

Dante’s green eyes were his most striking feature and he played them up with subtle dark eyeliner. His short black hair, neatly trimmed beard, and mustache gave him a Mephistophelian air. It didn’t help the image that he sometimes stroked his mustache like a villain in the old black-and-white films.

“Don’t you have something better to do than hang around outside my dungeon?” Colleen asked as she kept walking. She mentally called up the Doms’ schedules and thought that he had an advanced breath play workshop about to start.

He stopped her with a gloved hand on her throbbing shoulder. She tried not to wince, but he was good enough to catch the slightest tremor.

“You should ice that,” he said, all hints of teasing gone. “Then get into the hot tub and let the jets pound out some of that tightness.”

Colleen turned around to face him as he let his hand drop. Blowing a blond wave out of her eye, she nodded. “If I get to it. Now, what did you want?”

“You. On your knees.”

A flare of amusement danced through her, and she felt a real smile stretch across her face. It was an old game between the two of them, two Doms who didn’t like to be topped trying to force the other one into a submissive position.

“You first,” she countered. “And if I like what I see, I might allow you to lick my boots.”

A hard flush started up Dante’s collar, and his eyes narrowed. Colleen knew that he didn’t like defiance, didn’t like that she didn’t tremble at his charisma. She deliberately stepped into his personal space and watched him check himself so he didn’t take a step back. His nostrils flared and he stared at her mouth.

“You can’t get to the next level as a Master if you don’t experience the limits of your submission,” he said.

“Thanks for mansplainin’ that.” Colleen rolled her eyes. While he was right that if you couldn’t feel empathy for the sub you were a poor Dom, Colleen had a feeling Dante wasn’t chasing her for altruistic reasons, so she could improve her craft. He was also assuming that she hadn’t experienced being a submissive. What he knew about her training could fit in his mouth like a ball gag.

She had started her career as a sub, but it wasn’t in her nature. She made more money on the other end of the whip and enjoyed it more. She had even married one of the most thrilling Doms she had ever met and gladly submitted to him. But after Alfie’s death, she found comfort in giving the orders. None of that was Dante’s business. Colleen earned her right to Domme the Doms in Club Inferno. It was her leadership that had grown Club Inferno, a secret BDSM club, into one of the hottest dungeons in the Northeast. And it was her bankroll that shielded them from unwanted inquiries by fronting a fashion resort called Couture, which was also one of the premier locations on the East Coast.

This was definitely better than the second book in the series.  I really like the characters, their history just adds to the potential for fire and passion.  I like that they found a happy medium in which to come together.  I would have had a very hard time with Chase being totally submissive, that just wouldn't have worked for me.  I liked that we got more of the characters previous lives.  There is so much there to explore with Colleen and so many pieces that are missing, I'm looking forward to getting more.  I was a bit disappointed that we didn't have more with Nefertiti, she's such a feisty character that I would have loved to see more of her in this book.

Domme/ male sub Not my thing. Wish I had known before I bought it. That being said....there was so much wrong with this book for me. He is not a sub. She knows he's not a sub. She says she's a professional domme. Yet, she continues to dominate him, over and over again. Complete with punishments and mind f*cks Lots of loose ends. What was the rest of Jana's punishment? What did he do about his friends? How was Dante dealt with? They never did resolve past issues. The first 2 books were great but this one just didn't work for me for so many different reasons.

It was good to visit with old friends again at Club Inferno. Jamie still has the way to show us her people again. Colleen is still the Boss and running her Clubs and Hotels. She meets up again with Chase after a 10year hiatus. She knows she is a Dom but can she show Chase her real life. Chase had to give up football with a damaged knee. He  has always loved her but hasn't grown up. Spoiler. They fight. She bans him. Then there is a Super Spoiler! Dante still thinks he is top man on the totem pole and oversteps his boundaries. On top of that Nefertiti is due to have her baby anytime now. I can honestly say this is not a dull book to read. This Adult book can pull you right into this story. I hope you find your like this story. It is a fairly short book to read. Enjoy reading this book!  I have this book for an honest review for NetGalley.

This is my first read by Jamie K. Schmidt and I was curious especially since the dominant character is a female, a departure from the usual. Colleen Bryant is a very successful and independent business woman, a Domme and the owner of Club Inferno. But success has eluded her in one area: her personal life. She wants a man of her own, one who would be accepting of her lifestyle. Enter Chase Fairwood. Ten years ago, Chase and Colleen were in a relationship that ended badly. Chase went on to have a successful football career until he got sidelined by an injury. With all that time on his hands, Chase is forced to admit to himself that his biggest mistake was letting Colleen walk away and is persistent in his bid to win her back, despite her rejection of him. In the time since their break-up, Colleen went on to marry a rich, older man who introduced her to the BDSM lifestyle and left her a rich widow, affording her the chance to enjoy her alternate lifestyle lavishly. Colleen was destroyed by her break up with Chase and is now determined that the only way Chase would be a part of her life is as her submissive. I really like Colleen because she is in charge of her life and lives it on her own terms, with no apologies.  However, her past has made her wary of giving up control to any man and her career as a Domme is her way of being in control. Chase is not really submissive, but is willing to become one as a means to getting Colleen to open up to him again. His only problem is that he has a very short fuse and is quick to get angry and jump to incorrect conclusions. Their relationship is a very volatile one as they struggle to get beyond the issues from their past and forge a future for themselves. As their story unfolds, it’s very clear that they will never be in a real D/s relationship. What they have is second chance at love with a lot of kink thrown in! And honestly, at the end of the book, you can see how far they have come as individuals and as a couple. Fever is great writing from Ms. Schmidt and highly recommended by me. *I received this book for free from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review. Chase lost Colleen 10 years ago when he was caught in a compromising position. He assumed the worse about her and without hearing her side of the story, he let his anger consume him. Now he wants back in her life but Colleen has changed...a lot. She is now a domme and runs several businesses. She still is attracted to Chase but doesn't do vanilla anymore. She gives Chase a chance at being her sub. I was disappointed how Colleen let Chase be bratty at times. Sometimes she would allow it and sometimes she wouldn't. Even when she would state there would be a consequence for his behavior, she wouldn't follow through. Chase is an @$$hole and he even says he is...he continues to assume the worse, not hear Colleen's side of the story, and storm off. Overall, a great story that I enjoyed. *I received this book in exchange for an honest review of the book.

This is book three in the Club Inferno series. As the title suggests, it is extremely hot. There is sex and sex talk through out the book. The heroine in this book is Colleen, a dominatrix. I have a hard time relating to a woman being the dominant person in a relationship, therefore, this was my least favorite book in the series so far. I liked it none the less. I am a fan of this series through and through. I received an ecopy of the book in exchange for my honest opinion. It is another scorching addition to the Club Inferno series.

Colleen had loved Chase, but when he broke her heart, she'd had to move on. Alfie had shown her what she'd really been missing and fulfilled her life in a way that Chase never could. Now that Alfie's gone, Chase wants her back, but she knows it will never work. She's a Domme and Chase would never stand for her being in complete control, in the bedroom or out. When he comes back swearing he'll do anything to be with her again, she decides to give it a shot. Can she shock him and send him packing or will he be able to give up his control and prove his feelings are the real thing? Fever is my first Jamie Schmidt read and I enjoyed her creative style and strong heroine. I was a bit discombobulated with the switch from what I normally read, in the fact that the female was the Dominant character. It did grab my attention and Ms. Schmidt writes it with perfection. I'm just so used to the male being the Dominant partner, it was a little hard for me to really get involved. Fever had a complex, varied lineup of characters that made each word mesh smoothly and surprised me often, keeping me on lockdown to finish the story. The delayed gratification for the hero and heroine is always a motivator to keep reading and ignites the passion for not only the hero and heroine, but the reader too! Fever was a wonderful change to the "norm" and I was enthusiastically delighted! I look forward to reading more from Ms. Schmidt in the very near future! 4 Stars!

This was my first time reading this author's work, but it won't be my last. I really enjoyed Colleen and Chase's story and now want to go back and read the other stories I've missed. Keep the stories coming! I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for my opinion.

This is the third book in the Club Inferno series and it is the one that I most eagerly anticipated. At first, I was not connecting with Colleen and found her to be a bit chilly. But, I think that was the author's intention, she wasn’t supposed to be likable right away not until she showed her vulnerabilities. Those vulnerabilities came busting through when Chase pushed his way back into her life and her heart. There were some moments when I loved Chase and then others when I wanted to paddle his behind myself. I thought the BDSM scenes were mostly well written. A couple seemed a little cheesy because it was a little hard to believe Chase an ex-football player as a submissive. I think it began to work once I started getting that he was willing to give her control to please her because he loved her that much, and sometimes he was the one to take control. I wouldn’t consider their relationship a strict D/s relationship just that he didn’t mine taking the submissive role in the bedroom if it meant they could be together. Their chemistry was so strong for me that I felt it worked. I loved those public displays of affection. This couple had a lot of baggage ten years, separated, they had to get to know each other all over again and those moments were sweet, tender and sexy. By the end, I was rooting for this couple to get their happily ever after. It is a very good addition to this sensual erotic series, definitely recommend. You do not have to read the other books in the series to understand this one, but I recommend the whole series. Received a copy from Netgaelly in exchange for an honest review.

I received a ARC for an honest review. Colleen Bryant is a successful independent woman who knows what she wants and needs, to make herself happy. After being called a gold digger by the press for marrying a wealthy older man Alfie, who was a billionaire. When Alfie died he left all of his resorts to Colleen. Colleen then turned the resorts into Exclusive Couture Fashion Resorts but underground and in the shadows of these resorts lies Club Inferno for Colleen's  kinky wild side as well as a playground for the elite where not only is Colleen a businesswoman but also a sex instructor and Domme of the Doms. Even with all this Colleen is not happy it has been awhile since she has been in a relationship with someone.  Enter Chase Fairchild he was a professional football player who was unable to return, due to a career ending knee injury. Chase and Colleen have history. Colleen was madly in love with Chase but they broke up due to some major misunderstandings and lack of communication. Colleen then got married. Chase has never felt for anyone what he feels for Colleen and he wants her back. Although Colleen has changed since their last time together, she is willing to give Chase a chance. Chase Fairchild broke her heart 10 years ago but the chemistry between them is like MOLTEN LAVA RED HOT. The sex scenes are sizzling and this is quite the erotic treat. You are going to love reading this one with all the sex scenes and Club Inferno's activities as well as the other characters  that add even more sizzle to this story. I couldn't  put this story down. Loved the Sizzling Red Hot Chemistry between Chase and Colleen.

Received an ARC copy from Netgalley for a honest review. Personally, I don't normally read or enjoy reading a dominatrix with a male submissive theme. With that being said, I did find the story intriguing, entertaining and hot. Chase and Colleen get a second chance at love but little does he know what he's getting into. Being at the club is an eye opener for him and seeing Colleen in a dominant role. Chase is a strong alpha male but he's willing to do whatever it takes to win Colleen back including submit. I also had a hard time picturing his character truly submitting to her. Just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean others won't find it outstanding. Which is why I'm giving it 4 stars.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.  Like: I liked that she fell in love with an older man and was still able to have her first love. I loved that she grew into who she was supposed to be. Dislike: I spent most of the book disliking the hero and wishing she would ditch him until he grew up. I disliked his friends, I'm hoping they get what they deserve. I blame him for their behavior, If you can't stand up for your girl, you don't deserve her. Dante was way out of line too. It was a real jerk move that he pulled on Chase. Recommendation: Both parties matured over the course of the book, redeeming themselves (mostly) by the end.

Schmidt has created a complex and inviting world around Club Inferno that will take readers deep into her characters’ lives. The combination of fashion and BDSM works surprisingly well for her, creating a brilliant backdrop for her fast paced & explosive story. This novel has heat & passion, as well as a story of substance. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The main characters’ pasts spill over into the present in an explosive way. Their different worlds collide as the characters learn to compromise. By the end it was most like they’d come to understand one another, and to understand how to bring their different selves together into a solid couple. Chase makes the most comically hot-headed sub I’ve ever encountered. Combine this with Coleen’s need to be in control and you have one unique relationship. Schmidt backs these two up with a well-developed cast of secondary characters who really make you feel like you’re at Couture & Club Inferno.  This novel was a great read. Schmidt really drew me in. The story works well as a standalone or as part of this author’s fantastic series. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

If you like a strong character lead a woman; then Colleen Bryant, Domme of the Doms at Club Inferno is for you. Club Inferno is the hottest dungeon in the Northeast, operating as a fashion resort called ‘Couture’ a front show-piece in order to camouflage the Club to protect her member’s privacy. All made possible when Colleen became a widower to her late Dom Alfie, leaving her his sizable financial estate. It was towards the end of her relationship with Alfie that Colleen became a Domme and once she experienced that leadership, she thrived on it and she knew that there was no way she would ever submit to a man again.  Colleen finds herself at odds and seeking her own submissive. Colleen knows she needs to be the one in control of a relationship in order to be happy but finding a soul mate that will abide by her need to top; challenging. Her past relationship with Chase Fairwood failed after she found him in bed with cheerleaders in a hotel room; she left him without a backward glance or his explanation and her husband who introduced her into the world of BDSM died; so both men left her broken-hearted. But Chase Fairwood comes back into Colleen’s life determined to rekindle their relationship, he knows he messed up and will do anything to win Colleen back. And when Chase means anything he means agreeing to become Colleens submissive but Chase does not have a submissive bone in his body; he’s an alpha male who likes to be in control. Colleen introduces Chase into her world, the chemistry between Colleen and Chase is sizzling hot! Erotic! Will Chase win Colleen back; will he end up being Colleen’s submissive all in the name of love? Their journey is so worth the read. I give this book: 4 stars! ****An advance reading copy of Fever (Club Inferno #3) by Jamie K. Schmidt was provided to me from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Sad to see this wonderful sexy series end. Colleen is working hard to continue building her business when after ten long years an old love comes back into her life. The story kept me entertained, plenty of twists and turns that I did not expect and the sex is hot. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts and I loved the interaction between Colleen and Chase. Great Read

YES! FINALLY! I have been dying to read Colleen's story since we first met her in Heat where she was introduced as the owner of an exclusive fashion resort, Couture, as well as Club Inferno a private members only sex club, which is just below Couture. Well, let me tell you that this book did not disappoint at all!  This Domme is going to get what she has wanted since ex-pro football player Chase Fairwood broke her heart ten years earlier. The chemistry between the two is like a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. Chase has never been into Kink the way Colleen is so it is up to her to show him the way.  They are HOT HOT HOT together!!!!  I'm not sure what book will be next but I would love to see Dante's story, he is an interesting Dom to say the least. I think his book would be off the chart's HOT.

I have never read anything by Jamie K. Schmidt before and I thought this story sounded interesting. Colleen Bryant used to date Chase Fairwood, now a retired football player and was even in love with him until she found him in bed with a few cheerleaders. Ten years later she is now the owner of Couture, a high end fashion resort with a super exclusive secret underground BSDM club Club Inferno. I loved the story of a strong female who also happens to be a Domme going up against an alpha male! There chemistry was off the charts and their conversations were hot and funny at the same time. I loved how Chase was willing to do anything to win Colleen back. I loved his reactions to some of the things he had seen and done. Very entertaining and it seemed real. I really even enjoyed the supporting characters. All in all a really fun, hot book that makes me want to go back and read the previous books in this series.
