Publishers Weekly
In the sizzling third Weekday Brides contemporary (after Married by Monday and Wife by Wednesday), Bybee takes an elegant titled lady, a dark emotionally guarded hero, a menacing stalker, and a cast of distinctive characters mixing it all up into an unusual courtship tale full of danger and sexual tension. After securing a new client for Alliance, a matchmaking service for the wealthy, socialite Lady Gwen Harrison returns to her state-of-the-art monitored home to once again unsuccessfully flirt with her bodyguard, Neil MacBain. Former Marine Neil is not immune to the ravishing Gwen, but haunting recurring nightmares of military mission gone awry and a reluctance to mix pleasure with business lead him to suppress his feelings. Inexplicable security breaches, electrocuted neighbors, dead birds, and an implausible suicide propel Neil to whisk Gwen away from a revenge-seeking stalker, and the closeness of the on-the-run, off-the-grid adventure sparks passionate lovemaking. While the pace lags mid-novel, it regains momentum, and the intriguing characters add emotional depth, ensuring readers will race to the perfectly fitting finish.   Lady Gwen Harrison came to the United States to help her sister-in-law run her business.   Alliance is a different, very discreet business.  Gwen also has no idea her life is about to change completely.        Neil MacBain is ex-Marine and all business. He takes his job of body guarding his friend and his friend's sister, Gwen, very seriously.  Neil comes with a military past that he hopes won't catch up to him. Meanwhile, he watches over the lovely Gwen and fantasizes about her each night.        Together the two of them will prove to be an unbeatable team.      WOW! Edgy and sophisticated, this book delivers all it promises.  A who-dun-it wrapped in a beautiful love story is just what the doctor ordered.  Ms. Bybee is a terrific storyteller and the action makes you feel as if you have stepped into the book.  I think you'll love these characters because they are independent and strong.  Check out this book, you won't wanna miss another Catherine Bybee book.        I found no issues with this one.       I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because it swept me up in the action and landed me softly on a beach in Aruba!   ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~

Great Light Romance Suspense!  This was a great work of romantic suspense. It reminded me a bit of Karen Robards and Lisa Marie Rice and that is very good thing. Gwen, our heroine, is smart and real and realistic. She is never too stupid to live. I just love that. She is a sheltered woman who is coming into herself. She is bright and pursing her crush on Neil, the ex special forces bodyguard and security expert, in a fun and full grown woman way. Neil has PTSD and is reluctant to reengage with the world fully. He is also taciturn and uber hot. Grrrr. Then, we throw them both into the mayhem that comes with a romantic suspense plot. Boom-- our couple is on the run to together. I love  on the run and stuck together plots. We get good couple time. Love fun ensues with emotional realism and enough mystery that makes this book a keeper.  The plot is fast paced and the romance believable and endearing. I like both the hero and heroine very much and loved spending time with them. There are unique touches in this story that make the book shine while enjoying the conventions of the character types  (proper lady and wounded warrior) and the genre. Very good! I shall now be looking for the rest of the series!  I was given this book for my honest review so there you have it!

Another great book from Catherine Bybee, I am slowly working my way through this series and each book keeps getting better and better. This one is the overdue story of Gwen and Neil. Gwen who is Blake's sister and the daughter of a duke has had feelings for Neil, Blakes bodyguard and ex Marine. Neil knows that he could never act on it, he thinks he isn't good enough or what she needs because of the demons he is fighting from the last mission he had while he was in. Little does he know that last mission with be what brings them together. This book is the perfect romantic suspense, it has just the right amount of each. It takes you from mansions in Malibu, to the deserts of Nevada, and the mountains of Colorado. Take the journey that is Fiance by Friday you won't be disappointed.

Blake's sister Gwen has moved into Samantha and Eliza's old house and has taken over the match making business. She has been in love with Blake's Body Guard since she met him. No matter what she does he will not admit that he wants her too. After birds start showing up dead around her and Karen they think that someone is messing with Karen since she is afraid of birds. Once Neil finds out about the birds and people end up dead he knows that his past has caught up with him and now Gwen is in trouble. Next thing she knows Neil is taking her on the run to keep her safe. Neil is an ex Marine. He is watching over Gwen when someone from his old unit comes and warns him that some of the men from their unit are ending up dead or missing. After that visit and finding out about the dead birds he knows that it has to do with his past and their last mission. While they are on the run he can't fight his attraction to Gwen anymore. He will do anything to protect Gwen. Even if it means marrying her so that she can't run from where he takes her for protection. What will happen when they find out that someone they thought could be trusted cannot? My Opinion: Once again another AMAZING addition to this great series. I have been waiting for Gwen and Neil's story. It has been building since the first book. Catherine keeps the same characters that we have begun to love involved and continues to build their stories as a new love story unfolds. I knew that Gwen and Neil's story would be intense and I was not disappointed. As with the other two books I could not put this book down. Since the first book I have read them back to back, going on very little sleep. I stayed up as long as I could to read as I just couldn't get enough! I definitely recommend reading! Now I'm looking forward to Karen's story! ' Read and Reviewed by LSK Sweetheart Reviews '

FIANCE BY FRIDAY is another wonderful addition to Catherine Bybee's Weekday Brides series. This third book in the series, featuring the long awaited resolution to the attraction between Gwen and Neil, can be read as a stand-alone but I'm telling you you are missing out if you haven't already read the first two books. Lady Gwen Harrison is the 31 year old daughter and sister of a British Duke. In other words lived a very sheltered and regulated life. Dated only nice, appropriate men her parents approved of who bored her to tears. So naturally the minute she laid eyes on her brother Blake's security expert and bodyguard she fell for all his rough, mysterious manliness. Through the first two books poor Gwen made it as obvious as a "Lady" could to the man she was interested but he never gave her any reason to believe he returned her feelings. Neil MacBain is a former Marine covert missions intelligence officer with all the ghosts, nightmares and other post traumatic stress issues that come from seeing the worst of war. After losing half his company in his last mission he retired to civilian service and began working personal security for Blake Harrison keeping his family safe. Just like Gwen, Neil or "Mac" fell hard the minute he met Gwen, but unlike Gwen he felt he was all kinds of wrong for a lady like her so he kept his feelings to himself no matter how much she tempted him. Just like in Wife by Wednesday and Married by Monday, I found plenty of lighthearted humor and fun banter between this close group of friends. Ms. Bybee's characters always have personalities that seem natural and easy to relate to. Like your own good friend or neighbor which keeps me wanting to know what's happening next in my "friends" crazy lives! But more so than the first two books the danger level for our two leads is significant and drives the storyline a little more than the romance. An old enemy from Neil's days in the Marines is after him and using Gwen as a target to get to him. Once Gwen's life is threatened all of Neil's stoicism and ability to keep his emotions in check fly out the window. He quickly realizes and admits just how much "His woman" means to him and does everything necessary to protect her including eliminating the threat. The two of them head out on a cross country journey and get to know each other better. Much better. I believe the term Gwen uses later when describing her time with Neil to her friends was "hung like a horse". But also that the man known for his silence has quite a way with words and once he gave himself up to it, had no problem telling Gwen just how much he cared for her. Or showing her the feelings he had for her. Okay, so that is pretty darn romantic after all. Fiance by Friday is an exciting read all around and should not be missed!

A good portion of the book is spent trying to figure out what is going on, find who is behind everything, and to catch him.  It’s great for those that like suspense but there isn’t a lot of romantic build-up, so those looking for more of a love story might be disappointed.  If you don’t mind a good mix, though, Fiance by Friday is definitely a winner – full of humor, love and mystery, I couldn’t put it down. - Full review available at BookTrib's website or RomanticReadsandSuch on wordpress.

I absolutely love the dynamic relationships that Catherine is so amazing at creating. This was the first Weekday Bride book that I've read, but it was awesome. I love how great she is at crafting a world that could be stand alone or strung together in a fuller picture of the rest of the series. Once again she has nailed her character development, arcs, and I truly care about them- like they were my buddies I didn't want them to make any bad choices. The book isn't just romance, you have a suspense element going on with Neil too. It's a great book to leave you satisfied, yet wanting more. Don't all books that we love do that? Catherine really knows how to draw in the reader and hook them. I didn't want to put the book down and I'll be looking into her other books in this series. I can highly recommend it, as well as her Not Quite series which was the first thing that I encountered from her. She is a great writer and I hope she continues to write for years to come.

Gwen comes to America to run her sister-in-law’s matchmaking business.   Neil MacBain is her body guard and a retired marine. He is never far away from Gwen.  The attraction between Neil and Gwen is undeniable.  Gwen is willing to act on the attraction while Neil feels the need to hold back.   When Gwen’s life is put in danger, due to Neil’s marine background, Neil knows he will do anything to keep Gwen safe.   I have read other books by Catherine Bybee and have never been let down, this is no exception.  I could not put this book down.  I had to know if Neil kept Gwen safe.   Did their relationship flourish?   Could they make it together?   All my questions and more were answered by the time I finished this novel. I found Gwen’s spunk to be endearing.  I loved that even though she had lived a privileged life she was not afraid to get dirty.  She could relate to the privileged, but she loved the under privileged just as much.   The fact that she made “happy” matches for others but was struggling with her own love life just made her that much more real.   It is always easier to help someone else then yourself.   When the sparks starting flying between Neil and Gwen I was hoping for the best and got it.  Neil was a darker character.  He struggled with his past and hadn’t been able to move past it.  I felt like maybe he felt he was not good enough for Gwen, but knew that no one else would be either.  While keeping guard over her, his feelings kept getting stronger and stronger.  I was so thrilled that the heat radiated off the two of them when they finally got together.   There is absolutely nothing in this novel I would change.  Catherine Bybee hit the mark again.  I will recommend this one to everyone.   I cannot wait for more from her.

4.5 Star Review In Fiance by Friday (Weekday Brides #3) by Catherine Bybee, Lady Gwendolyn "Gwen" Harrison has recently taken over her sister-in-law's matchmaking business after relocating to California. She gets to hobnob with celebrities, politicians and socialites, which she excels at, being a Duchess herself. Ever present is her bodyguard Neil MacBain. He has worked for her family for a while now and Gwen doesn't think she can push aside the attraction she feels for him much longer. She can sense that Neil feels some of that electricity between them but he takes his job seriously and doesn't want to mix business with pleasure. Strange things begin to happen around Gwen's house that make her feel a bit paranoid, like dead ravens appearing in strange places. When Neil finds out, he goes into high alert mode. She's not sure if it's his background as a Marine or if it's something hitting a little to close to home. He finds a security breach around the time there is an incident next door so Neil decides it's time to move Gwen to safety. Being on the run proves to be both exciting and scary for her. It's a chance to spend some quality time with Neil, to get him to open up. They can't deny their connection as soon as they are in such close proximity to each other. Their days are spent traveling and before long their nights are spent giving in to their passion. Neil takes her to a safe location with a former commander of his so he can track down and eliminate their problem. Before he heads out, though, he offers to make a commitment to her that she never thought in her wildest dreams could happen. She finds that not only will she have to fear for his safety when he leaves, but her safety may be compromised as well. Neil MacBain is a former Marine who is now a security specialist for the Harrison family. He's been assigned to protect Lady Gwen for a while now. And he enjoys being near her a little too much for his liking. He's thought many times of giving in to temptation and kissing the beautiful duchess but it could put Gwen in danger. His worst fears are realized when someone begins leaving ravens around her Tarzana home. Neil is pretty sure someone is sending him a signal relating to a secret mission he led before he left the military. He worries about Gwen's safety, so he takes her with him to find a safe location, an ivory tower as he calls it, in which to stash her away so he can take care of the situation. But Neil's not sure who he can trust as former colleagues end up missing or worse. He finally admits his feelings for Gwen while they're on the road and lets her into his heart, which is a huge step for him. When he begins to put the pieces of the puzzle together, Neil realizes he may have trusted the wrong person and put Gwen in more danger that he could have imagined. Hot romance, a mystery assassin, British royalty, and an alpha Marine...this story has it all! So far the Catherine Bybee books I've read, this one included, have had great plot twists and have run high with charged emotions. I really enjoyed getting to know Gwen and Neil. They are both very strong characters and are perfectly paired. Lady Gwen isn't afraid to go after the man of her dreams and keep him in check all the while. (Even though he is a big tough Marine.) Neil may be a man of few words but there's a whole host of emotions he feels for Gwen. I think we all deserve a brave hunky man like Neil to protect us and treat us like royalty. Okay, so in Gwen's case she actually is a duchess. But still. Definitely swoon worthy. Go Neil! ;) This is a great beach read that will keep you entertained and on the edge of your seat...or blanket.

It's no secret that I am a huge Catherine Bybee fan and this book only increased my love of her work. I honestly think this might be her best work yet. I always thought that Lady Gwendolyn Harrison was going to come across as though she was a prissy, pampered princess who was spoiled and felt entitled due to her upbringing. Getting to really know her in this book showed that she was exactly the opposite. Gwen is strong, resilient, forward thinking and cool under pressure. We always knew that Neil had his demons from his past, but in this book we got a much clearer picture of him, what he went through during the war and we learned that impressions aren't always what lies beneath the surface. Oh and did I mention that he's just flat out HOT!? Put Gwen and Neil together, coupled with a really, really great suspense filled storyline and you get yourself one heck of a great book. As I stated earlier, this may very well be Catherine's best work yet and I for one can't wait to see what juicy story she brings us next!

ooh la la. I fell in love with Catherine Bybee and her "Not Quite" series. When I was asked to review Fiance by Friday, I naturally agreed even though at the time I had not read the first two in the Weekday Bride series. Knowing my love for Catherine was deep and true, I did something I rarely do anymore. I went to Amazon and purchased Wife by Wednesday & Married by Monday in paperback so I could read them all in order. This is what a great author is. Buying two books in paperback immediately, without question, knowing you'll love them! And love them I did (reviews coming whenever I have a moment to get them up..). Now I am stuck in a viscous cycle of waiting for the next book to come out- but hey at least there are two series that I"m addicted to now! I fell a little in love with Gwen in the first book. Naive little rich girl who lived a sheltered life and has a great English accent. What more can you ask for? Pair her up with a hardened former Marine who has enough experience and baggage for the both of them and they make the perfect team. In each book, Gwen has slowly grown a little more confident and I loved watching her finally step up to take what she's been drooling after. Just the romance of Gwen & Neil getting together would have been enough, but Catherine likes to outdo each book she writes and so we also get a stalker/murderer who will leave you guessing until the end to figure out who's really behind it all. With appearances from the rest of the crew, I loved getting updates on each previous couple and a preview of the couple to come (hint: Single by Saturday is Karen's story!). *Disclosure- I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. *
