Overview

True short stories are what make this book better than a straight biography. In these pages are stories; I have heard many times told by my grandparents, parents, and then some from my sisters & I that we have been a part of. My grandparents & parents were born and raised in Eastern Kentucky around Irishman Creek, and the holler dad lived in was known as Booger Town; now wait; that name is no worse than Possum Trot or Hog Holler which are real places as well. Allot of good stories come from my family as they worked hard to cut out a living in Eastern Kentucky.
My short stories begin during the Great Depression Era; which begin with my grandparents, Fields & Mullins families. Dad/Bud was born in 1936, and mom/Fronia in 1940. They got the tail end feel of the Great Depression Era.
However, this is a book of short stories of events that are funny, scary, and adventurous only two chapters out of 25 can be called part of a short biography; while the rest are for fun. Follow the exploits of Monroe, Mae, Newt, Lizzie, Bud & Fronia as well as other family members as the stories unfold; feel free to laugh out loud.

Meet the Author

This is my first detour from my Tracks of the Dark Wing series, which has been a fun break by writing some true short stories of my family. This book has been allot easier to write because of me knowing the stories, and the family members they are about. Most of my family now lives in Southern Indian, but a few still roam the hills of Eastern Kentucky. I live in Scottsburg Indiana about 25 miles north of Louisville Kentucky. I have lived here most of my life, I was born here, but shortly thereafter was moved back to Eastern Kentucky for a very short stay; and then returned for good. All my school years were spent in the Scott County school system. My wife Rita and I have worked for MultiColor Corporation for the last 21 years. Yes we do see each other allot during the day, but we wouldn't want it any other way. I am a husband, father, and grandfather of 11 grandchildren; 8 boys, and 3 girls. The girls can hold their own even though they are outnumbered. My youngest grandchild a baby girl is 9 days old as of this writing.
I want to thank my sister Deborah Kersey for her help in jogging my foggy memory on some of the facts of a few stories. She has been reading the stories as they evolved into the book in your hands. I also want to thank my family living and deceased for creating the events, which these stories evolved from.
It is now time to return to my Tracks of the Dark Wing series. The next book will make book 5 in that series. It will be called Tracks of the Dark Wing: Alternant Time Streams. It will pick up right where book 4 ended.
