Fight for your dreams. Fight for your life. Fight for love.

Nerdy girl Autumn Blakewood is the prime example of a goody two-shoes. She studies every night, is never late for class, and always follows the rules. She has never felt the need to step out of her comfort zone. That is, until she meets Hunter.

Hunter Bane is a cocky, confident bad-boy, who's nothing but trouble. He's a dangerous distraction to everyone around him. Sexy and strong, Hunter enjoys the swooning effect he has on women. Especially those who aren't used to attention, like Autumn.

Autumn finds it hard not to give into Hunter's advances, even though it all seems like a game to him. Trying to understand him is impossible, because he shrouds himself in mystery.
What she doesn't know is that Hunter has more baggage than anyone should have to carry. When she discovers he's in an illegal frat club to save the one person that matters to him, Autumn realizes this could mean the end of her undeniable connection to him. Even their lives are at risk.
But it's too late to turn back now ...

Fierce by Clarissa Wild is a terrific book. It is a bit more erotic than it needed to be, considering these are college kids, but it was well done. The plot is a rough one. I had some questions about the vanishing job and lackadaisical class schedules, but it is a great story with a terrific cast of characters.

The writing was terrible and the story was corny, overly dramatic, and predictable. Don't waste your time.

4 Fierce Stars! TITLE~ Fierce AUTHOR~ Clarissa Wild GENRE~ New Adult-Romance-Academic/College PUBLISHED~ January 24th 2014 PURCHASED/COST~ ARC for review as part of Red Hot Obsessions MY RATING~ 4/5 MY THOUGHTS~  I chose to read this book because I received an ARC of Red Hot Obsessions for review and this book was included in it. I really liked this book! At the beginning, I was sure I was never going to get into it. It seemed like it was going to be kind of cliche and the same ol' same ol'....then BAM! Not so much! Once I really got into it, I couldn't put it down! I had never read anything by this author, Clarissa Wild, before but, she's made a fan out of me! I will continue to read her work for sure. I can't wait to read more of the Fierce series! I will definitely be purchasing those as they become available! Fierce is well written with much attention to detail and I really like that. You really feel as though you've gotten to know the characters by the end. It just leaves you wanting more of them! Well done Ms Wild!

This was an amazing story about finding your true love and keeping secrets that should never be shared. The characters were/are amazing what's not to love about them, they are after all really easy to like. This story had a mystery feel to it mixed in with loads of hottness around every corner. This is not my first time reading a story by this author nor will it be my last, Clarissa is able to catch my attention from the very first page in all her stories this one tops it of course. The style of the writing is great not to sexy but just enough to make you wanting more and more. ***I received this story for free in exchange for an honest review ***

Autumn Blakewood knows what it's like to be bullied by your peers. She's determined to make her college experience better than high school. Autumn and a leaf blower have an accident quickly leaving her humiliated by having leaves and twigs in her hair. When Autumn discovers a precious gift is lost and having no hope of ever seeing it again. Hunter Bane is inexplicably attracted to the girl with leaves in her hair. He returns Autumn's bracelet and gives her the nickname Leafy. Hunter is bad boy mixed up in a bad crowd for reasons he can't even explain to himself. Autumn knows she shouldn't want to be with Hunter but it's the only time she feels alive. Can Hunter get out of his situation? Will Hunter and Autumn be together? Your answers await you in Fierce. Fierce is about your good girl falling for the bad boy with a different twist. The characters are likeable, rich, bold, interesting, and complex. The story unfolds like flower blooming. Our hero and heroine each have their flaws but what ultimately makes them a couple is their determination to be there for each other no matter what even if it costs them. I will definitely read more of this author's work in the future.

I didn't know if this book would be one i liked a lot or loved. I loved it. Being a "nerd" myself all throughout high school and college I found Autumn was an easy character to relate to. She had a lot of the same worries and feelings that I think might be normal for someone in that social group. She worried if people who were not in her small group who when they tried talking to or befriending her, she wondered if they were mocking her or playing some kind of game. She cared about people who she talked to. Her best friend is very protective of her. Though I felt she was just a tad too hostile about every other person that wasn't Autumn. It was a touch difficult to relate to her and I didn't really get why she was so hostile and mean. Autumn has to deal with an old friend changing and letting other people into her life that she's use to avoiding. The connection between Hunter and Autumn is sweet and real. Hunter fights with conflicting feelings when it comes to Autumn. He wants her but also wants to keep her away from him so he doesn't bring the bad influences in his life on her. Hunter was a surprisingly very realistic bad boy. His actions and life, and even his feelings. All the characters in fact were, in my opinion, very believable and real. Clarissa Wild really nailed everything about this book. I sat down to read a few chapters before bed and before I knew it i was almost halfway through the book. It was one of those books that felt more like watching a movie than reading. It's a 338pg book but it was such a smooth read that it was easy to lose track of time. It's engrossing to the point that you'll be reading the last page before you know it. I honestly feel like this book is a case of more then meets the eye. I don't know if I've ever devoured a book as fast as I did this one. Rating 4 out of 5 stars

Hunter and Autumn will take you on one heck of ride. This book has it all humor, love, mystery, and drama. Autumn starts out as your typical nerdy good girl until she meets Hunter. Hunter brings her out of her shell but also exposes her to a world that she might not be able to handle. Hunter is the ultimate bad boy and he has so many layers that you get to learn about throughout the book, Neither one of these characters have had an easy life but to see them both grow and come into themselves is amazing. This book kept me turning pages from beginning to end just to see what was going to happen next. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen the book took me in a completely different direction. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I felt so connected to the characters. Hunter stole my heart. I would highly recommend this book!

Ok, let me tell you.  I totally fell in love with Hunter and Autumn.  This is truly a story about having faith in the face of doubt, holding out hope when things seem hopeless, and finding that someone who will always fight for you.  Let me explain a little about what touched me so much about this book. Autumn Blakewood is a geek to the core.  She was picked on and put down all through high school.  She is scared as hell about starting college.  She is afraid that she will be treated the same way.  She does not see herself as much in the way of looks and personality.  Growing up very poor, what she wants most is to succeed in her studies, so that she can give her family a better life.  She is happiest when she is surrounded by books, and her best friends Brody and Evie.  Although, something seems to be happening with Brody and he is not the same person that use to stick up for her in high school, have her back and protect her.  She is totally taken off guard when the hottest, sexiest, dangerous guy that she has ever laid eyes on takes an interest in her.  Little does she know, her association with Hunter Bane could be her downfall in more ways than one. Hunter Bane is built like a mac truck. He has the looks and the attitude that make most girls drool and most guys keep their distance.  But from the moment that Hunter lays eyes on Autumn (Leafy as he likes to call her) he can't seem to get her out of his head.  He goes out of his way to be near her, even though he knows that having her near could put her in danger.  See Hunter is in a club that demands their members sell drugs and fight in the arena for money, but he is doing all of this to try and save his older brother Jessie, who has taken care of him is entire life, and now finds himself in prison.  All Jessie has ever wanted for Hunter was for him to live a good life, go to school and make something of himself.  But with a learning disablity slowing him down, his interest in Leafy growing stronger, and the dangers around the them getting worse, Hunter will have to make some decisions that could put himself and everyone he cares about in great danger. What I loved most about Hunter and Autumn is that they never gave up.  They are fighters by nature, wheither by choice or by the surcomstances they are always trying to see the best in each other.  Even when Autumn does not understand why Hunter is acting and doing the things that he is doing at the time, her faith in the him never truly wavers.  She see the scared, hurting person inside the rough and tough outer shell.  Hunter will stop at nothing to insure that Autumn is safe.  He loves his brother and will do anything to see him free, but not at the expense of Autumn's saftey.  He knows that it is because of her that his life has meaning, it is because of her that he feels he can over come the learning disablity that has plagued him all of his life, it is because of her that he strives to be a better person, someone worthy of her faith and love. I totally fell in love with these two character, and their chemistry is off the charts.  I cannot wait to read the rest of this series.

I liked the general plot line of this book, Nerd Autumn starts College, she's from a poor family and is determined to do the best she can after her parents gave all their money to get her there. On her first day things don't go to plan, and she ends up meeting Hunk Hunter Bane... Hunter, sees the sweet shy girl and is intrigued, but Hunter has secrets, he's involved with some bad people. Autumn has always been the A grade student but something attracts her to Hunter, Hunter is also attracted to Autumn - or 'Leafy' as he nick names her. He should stay away, but he can’t. If and when Leafy finds out about the mess he is in will she run or stay? I had a bit of a Love/Hate situation with Hunter, athough he is doing things that are not exactly legal, but you start to like him as he struggles to be good while being in a situation he has no control over... what I hated was his Autumn's friend and room mate Evie was quite flat and other than being the person she went to school with I felt no connection to her. Evie whinged and spat her dummy out over the silliest of things. I don't like to give out spoilers, so I won't go into too much detail. there was a lot of internal debating in the story - which is told in Autumn's POV but overall I enjoyed the story - I think it gets better towards the end of the book, I think that reading FIGHT the Short Story Prequel 70% through this book helped me understand why Autumn was the shy girl she was, when obviously underneath it all she had spunk and guts to stick by Hunter and his problems... Over all this is a good book, I look forward to reading Fury next to see what will happen next.

I want to start off by saying, this book took me by surprise. I thought it was going to be your average love story, where the popular, handsome guy falls in love with the nerdy girl. Let's just say it definitely isn't your average love story. Autumn is a freshman at college and is roommates with her best friend from high school, Evie. They both are book worms and enjoy everything about school, besides the bullies.  Autumn makes a grand entrance off the bus at college. Let's just say it has something to do with a leaf blower, a skirt,  and a hot guy. That's how she meets Hunter and gets the nickname Leafy.  Hunter is a mysterious, cocky male, that is full of himself. Autumn is an average, nerdy female, just trying to enjoy college. When people say, “Opposites attract”, well they're right... Autumn helps Hunter with his studies and Hunter helps Autumn learn to defend herself. She starts to fall for Hunter and gets blown away when she discovers the “real” him. Hunter isn't just a normal college male, having trouble with his studies and anger issues. He has secrets that will not only change her life, but take her on a wild roller coaster ride! Love. Sex. Secrets. And more Love! Fierce is a must read book! 5 stars all the way!

A surprising and fiery New Adult book. Hunter Bane and Autumn Blakewood are an awesome new couple. I received this book from the author, in exchange for an honest review. I must say, I am happy this couple had so many problems. It resembled a true to life, real couple. It wasn't all sex, and it wasn't all happiness. They had their problems and I loved it! Hunter was truly cocky and threw out so many innuendos! I loved it! He was so... true to life. The only thing I didn't like was how this book was a happily ever after. It isn't that I don't like HEA, but if you think about it, would that really happen in a case like this? It is very rare. It was nice that Clarissa Wild wrote from a nerd's point of view. I loved that because I rarely read a nerd. Generally my POV's I read are either incredibly cocky (and hot!) boys, or girls. The girls are generally friendly and have many friends so I don't see them being nerds much.  The thing with this book is that it is a girl in college and so things change quite a bit for High School to College, but Autumn still seemed like a true to life nerd. She stayed home (at the dorm) and did her studying like a good girl. She never broke the law or any rule. When she met Hunter, she broke a few rules and some laws. I enjoyed seeing her change. The only thing I would change in this book is Autumn's best friend being a lesbian. I think it would be awesome if there was another book on Evie with a guy, like one of Hunter's friends. It would just open opportunity's for more books, is all. I wasn't a huge fan of the cover when I first saw it, but after reading the book, I realize it ties in with it! I love that the author made it tie in with the book! I haven't read many books with covers from a scene in the book. I must say, for a virgin, Autumn was quite vulgar and sometimes I was slightly disturbed by it, but it didn't make me like the book any less. Hunter seemed to be the same way, but wasn't vocal with it (nether was Autumn, though). I think I would love it if I could read this book from Hunter's POV! It would be just fun to pick his brain and see what he thought all those times Autumn surprised him. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy New Adult romance and a slight mystery. Rating: 6.9/10 Parental Rating: 16+

Autumn Blakewood is eager to start college life and hang out with her two best friends. Unfortunately in her case a nerd is always a nerd. After an embarrassing moment the minute she stepped foot on campus she sticks to what she knows.... never missing or being late for class and studying every night. And of course following the rules. Then she meets Hunter Bane. He is her complete opposite in every way. His attitude and life are a complete mystery to Autumn but this just makes her want to understand him even more. When she realizes that Hunter belongs to an underground frat that specializes in fighting she can't help but thinking her best bet would be to run in the opposite direction. But it's too late, Hunter is on the hunt. And what he wants is her. For the most part I did enjoy this book. There were some points where I felt slightly disconnected from the characters. I felt like some more depth would have gone a long way (ie: the two best friends). But overall I liked it.

Loved it. I need me a Hunter Baine. He Fierce, loyal and really a sweet soul. Leafy has a heart of Saint and a soul of an angel. So very opposite , yet opposites attract. Recommen 100x over

Fierce by Clarissa Wild 3.5 Stars out of 5 Fierce is a wild ride full of intense action. There is never a dull moment once self proclaimed nerd queen Autumn meets handsome confusing bad boy Hunter Bane! Their relationship is full of angst and animal attraction from the beginning and gets hotter as they learn more about each other. Hunter's busted up face, secret rendezvous, and weird roommate are almost more than Autumn can handle so her investigative skills kick in and that's where the real intrigue of this book comes in. Overall it was well written structurally, it just seemed rushed in the romance department. I didn't see any progression in Autumn and Hunter's emotional relationship or why she would be so invested in his well being from the beginning, it just was an assumed state of being from the moment they met and not in a “love at first site” kind of way. While I felt Fierce was formulaic to it's genre, I was very pleased and surprised by Ms.Wild's fantastic twist ending! I would recommend this book as a quick read if you like intense intrigue with hot men! **A complimentary copy was given in exchange for an honest review** Pepper, My Secret Book Spot

What surprises me most about this book is that in a time where all the hero's are totally and utterly alpha men with no feelings or emotions (except when their love interest leaves them) Hunter is different. He is emotional about things, he cries and that makes him real. Obviously we don't want to read about an emotional wreck of a hero lol but the fact he has a vulnerable side is a lot more realistic than someone who just doesn't seem affected by anything. Autumn is a quiet girl who just wants to keep her head down and study without any distractions but unfortunately for her, she is pursued by Hunter. I can't understand the low reviews on this book as it was very well written but just a slightly different tilt on the main character's traits. I liked it, I'd recommend it, I'd read more...more about Hunter and Autumn and more from Clarissa Wild. :-)

This book was a first for me by this Author.  The story was ok, it didn't grab on to me but I did finish it. The fight scenes were ok, The way Hunter defends Autumn is wonderful.   In this story we have Autumn Blakewood a good girl who loves to read. She is now in college and sharing her dorm room with Evie her friend who ends up wanting in her bed. Her best friend is now a druggie and  it has really  upset  Autumn.  On top of all that she now has the hots for the bad boy at school Hunter Bane.  Hunter has a lot of baggage and he is a fighter but he also seems to have a heart and a soft side that is pulling Autumn In.  Can these 2 help fix each other?  Grab your copy to find out .

Better than I expected and a whole lot more. WOW, a very well written story that captivated me into a whole new world on a collage campus.  Very entertaining and enjoyable to read this story.  Loved interplay between Hunter and Autumn (Leafy).  To find out who the bad guys really are was surprising in some ways.  Great job to the author.  I received this book from the author for an honest review.

This book is about a nerdy girl starting her freshmen year of college and a boy who is doing something dangerous to save his brother. She is very attracted to said boy but doesn't think she has any chance. She wants for the figure out this boy so badly and help him. Turns out he likes her too but is scared to mess her up or get her hurt. I liked this book right away after only reading a few pages. She really is drawn to him and wants to help. She sees him differently than other people. I love how he is so worried about her and protects. I can't wait to read fury.

Autumn spends her time studying and reading for fun. Hunter isn’t your typical “bad boy”. It is pretty easy to tell that he has a good heart and that he cares about Autumn and wants more from himself and his life than what he has. His “bad boy” persona is clearly a means of survival and if you’ve never lost your family as Hunter has, you probably won’t completely understand the role he is playing (at least until “Fury”, the book from his POV, is released). Sometimes I wanted Autumn to run in the opposite direction, but part of me completely recognizes that even the smartest girls throw reason out the window when a guy like Hunter comes along. He was real with her and I loved him for that. So I found myself wanting her to stay, to figure out what the hell he was doing and find a way to knock some sense into him. Yes, Autumn did some really really stupid things in the process of solving the mystery, but her heart was on the line and I can't fault her for being protective of Hunter. I was riding that emotional rollercoaster every step of the way. I can’t even begin to explain where I found myself during the last part of the book. When the truth comes out, my emotions were a tangled mess. Throw in the surprise twist at the end and I was pretty much done for (in the best way possible). If you love a bad boy who isn’t all that bad, a nerdy girl who finds a reason to be brave, and a mystery in need of unraveling then you will really enjoy this book. I can’t wait to see Hunter’s side of things in Fury!

This book is, without doubt, worthy of 5 stars! Hunter has a man-whore reputation, he's a fighter, he's a bad boy. He takes great delight playing with nerdy, studious Autumn's feelings (whom he's nickname Leafy after a rather embarrassing run in she had with leaf blower!) I wouldn't say he was your typical alpha male, as he showed a very vulnerable side several times. Leafy was your typical virginal, naive, booky nerd who was fascinated and perplexed by the attention Hunter showed her. She got stronger throughout the book.  There's an attraction between the pair of them. Leafy wants to lose her V plates to Hunter, he wants her, but he comes with so much baggage that he thinks he's not worthy of being with a girl like Leafy. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat and evokes many different feelings from anger to almost tears. On one hand you want them to get it on, on the other hand you want to slap her round the face and tell her to run for the hills and find someone "normal". The story flowed nicely, the language wasn't too flowery or repetitive, the editing was top notch. It is definitely a book I would recommend to my friends. Congrats Ms Wild.

Book Worms was given this book as an ARC for an honest review. We gave this book 4 stars.  This Review was left by Melissa a Book Worms Reviewer. Thank you Melissa. Synopsis Shy, nerdy, self-proclaimed bookworm Autumn Blakewood is starting her freshman year of college. She's awkward and has issues with people and crowds. Wouldn't you know it on her first day off the bus, she gets into a tangle with a leaf blower and is humiliated in front of a crowd. All she wants to do is get to her dorm room and best friend without too much drama. She's had little experience in life and prefers homework and books to people. Enter Hunter Bane, tall, gorgeous, bad-boy charmer who does nothing but torment Autumn the first chance he gets. She is annoyed by him, but yet she can't stop thinking about him. One day he is all smiles and cockiness and the next, he shows up with bruises. For Autumn, she wants to fix him and find out what his secrets are. The more she pushes, the more he runs, but he can't keep running because she won't let him. Hunter has problems and if Autumn get's involved, it could be dangerous for everyone. There is people that take and take from Hunter and he's almost at his breaking point, until Autumn. Can she fix him? My opinion Out of 5 stars, I would give this somewhere between a 3.5-4. I felt this was more of a mature YA book then an adult romance. Both people are barely eighteen and Autumn has no life experience except to be teased for being a nerd. Hunter comes across as someone much older then he is. Without sounding to much like a cougar, he is hot, but his mood swings are worse then a woman with PMS. Autumn is not sure what she wants. She knows she wants Hunter but everything that comes with him sends her into spirals and not always in a good way. The writing was decent, but occasionally I felt like a ping pong with the characters and it bounced around a bit. The writing was good and I think the story had potential, but again more of a YA book then a contemporary romance. Clarissa Wilde is an excellent author, this one was just not one of my favorites. I just did not feel the connection between Hunter and Autumn that I have felt with other hero's and heroin's. This is quick, in-between read but am glad it was not a cliffhanger.

Autumn Blakewood is a nerdy girl heading off to college. Autumn is the definition of a goody two-shoes, never late for class, never steps a toe out of line. Until she meets Hunter. Hunter is the ultimate bad boy...confident, strong, and cocky. Hunter knows the effect he has on women, and enjoys the effect he has on girls like Autumn. Autumn tries to understand Hunter, and tries not to be like every other girl out there trying to get his attention. What Autumn does discover is even more mysterious and confusing as she delves deeper and deeper into what Hunter is involved in. I am fifty-fifty with this book. I loved the plot behind it and the fact of the nerdy girl gets the hot guy and so on. I wish there was more of a back story with Autumn and her friends trying to understand how their relationship worked, what brought them together, and what caused the rift between the friends. Also a back story with the illegal frat that Hunter was apart of and how it got started....little things like that, that could have made the story so much better and the characters even more in depth on their inner workings. On the upside I loved the illegal frat angle and how that worked into the story. I think this is an either love it or hate it story...I do agree with some reviewers that there could be much more to the story to make it better.
