Overview
There's a lot to be said for The Clarity of Hindsight and for making it to age 50! Author Julie L. Kessler has crammed a lot of living into those years, and she shares them in her insightful new book Fifty-Fifty, The Clarity of Hindsight.
This compilation of lessons learned by the 50-year-old lawyer, wife, mother and world traveler contains 50 chapters that describe her fascinating travel, work and life adventures around the globe and at home. She has lived and worked abroad, speaks several languages and writes in wonderful Clarity about her often hilarious, yet sometimes heartbreaking experiences.
The daughter of immigrant parents, the author notes that her mother traveled right up to the end of her life, which came just three months following her 51st birthday. "In her honor, and to mid-centurions everywhere, I devote these writings. The very best is right now and exactly where you are headed. Wherever that may be."
About the author: Julie L. Kessler grew up in California and Hawaii, graduated with a B.A. in political science from the University of Hawaii, Manoa, and received her Juris Doctorate degree from The National Law Center at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The author has lived in Japan and in France, and has spent significant time in Israel, Hong Kong and Indonesia. When not working or roaming the globe in search of good food, good wine and interesting people, she can be found enjoying her family and two crazy canines not far from an airport in Southern California.
