A virus that turns the infected into zombie-like killers spreads through a burning world thrown into lawless chaos. Lovers Parker and Adam have escaped to the open sea when they hear a message over the airwaves from a place called Salvation Island-a supposed safe haven.
Orphaned as a child, werewolf Adam has always longed for a pack. He's eager to investigate the island, but Parker doesn't think for a nanosecond that the voice on the radio can be believed. He doesn't trust anyone but Adam and is determined to keep it that way. They don't need anyone else complicating their struggle to survive. Or do they?
Danger on the high seas can surface in a heartbeat, and if Parker and Adam aren't careful, the current will drag them under.

While I also loved this secind installment, it was not as long as the first. It was exciting and suspenseful but it would have been nice if it had been more than 193 pages. So I couldn't help f.eeling a little cheated. Be sure to read the first story before this one, or you will be confused. You really do need the backstory. I liked the fact that Parker and Adam's story took place on a boat this time. I won't give the story away, but am looking forward to the next installment in this story. And hopefully it will be longer than this one. Being on the short side is the only reason for the four stars. Gifted writer!
Squeeeeee! This is a prime example why Keira Andrews is one of my favorite authors. Best paranormal book I have EVER read! We pick up the story where Kick at the Darkness left off. (This may be a spoiler if you haven’t read the first book. But you’ve GOTTA read it!) A virus has swept over the world causing humans to turn into zombie-like creatures. Parker and his boyfriend Adam are dodging zombies and other people who mean them harm, having crossed the United States to the Atlantic Ocean. Adam, it turns out, is immune to the virus, which is transmitted through a bite, because he is a werewolf. Parker and Adam help themselves to an ocean worthy yacht and set out to sea, hoping to find refuge somewhere that the zombies have not yet gained a foothold. The lack of modern technology such as the Internet and satellite feeds to use while navigating the ocean packs a wallop to this thriller. Parker and Adam start bickering which totally makes sense and further created a very real relationship. I was actually worried that they would break up. Parker is attacked by bad humans he thought he could trust. Then something so unexpected happens. This is one of many skillfully written gigantic twists to the story that the reader won’t see coming at all. Love, love, loved this book. I’m using this review as a platform to beg for the next book in the series ASAP. Ms. Andrews can write so many different subgenres in the mm romance genre. This is one of her best. I would love to give it 10 stars.
