Fighting Dirty by Cheryl McIntyre

I wake up to a warm body draped along my side. I smile as the foreign feeling of happiness radiates in my chest.

Everything comes rushing back as Rocky’s scent fills my senses.

Not Olivia’s.

My happiness bursts like a broken dam. Not because Olivia isn’t here. But because as I realized it was Rocky’s body against me, I still felt satisfied. Because I didn’t feel the misery of Livie’s loss.
Because all I can feel now is shame. My first instinct wasn’t to miss Liv. It was to enjoy Rocky.

Link and Rocky's story continues in this fourth installment of the Dirty novella series.

*This is part four in a five-part novella series.
**Due to sexual situations and violence, this series is recommended for 18+.

I....I....I..... feel like this particular novella 4 out of 5 in the novella series just pulled at my heart even more than the others. I wanted to jump up and cheer Rocky and Link on for their progression as characters, but I wanted to hug them too for their hesitation to get there. I freaking love this series and need it to be one paperback/hardcover book so I can read it again and get it into the local library system and introduce others this story. Sorry for the brief and vague review, but you've got to keep reading this series to understand why that is. I don't want to cheat anyone of the experience.

MY MIXED FEELINGS. I've been sitting on my review for a couple of days. I just can't seem to find the words to describe this serial anymore--rare coming from me. Here are my mixed feelings: I'm not a picketing sort of person, but I want to--or more like I'm dying to--stand outside every big publishing house in the nation to make sure one of them (ATRIA!) takes off running with it. The Dirty series is so damn good that I'm just...shaking my head. I want the entire world to be able to discover it. On the other side, I caught myself thinking: does it matter? Of course, it matters to Cheryl, who deserves monetary recognition for her talent too, but...if there's this gorgeous jewel laying there, safely tucked into a jewelry box, for only the most alert to find... isn't it still just as beautiful as if it's around the neck of royalty? Ahh. I became all poetic here. Sorry about the rambling. But just saying. I. Love. This. Serial.
