I've been through this book with a highlighter, have post it notes all over it and take it with me all the time. In fact, I am not even sure where the Apple FCP book is. Don't think about buying this book. Just do so and you'll be glad you did.

I read the other reviews and was hesitant to purchase this book, but they are wrong! This book is a must have if you need help with FCP. It's $20 for 508 pages (not 352) and contains a lot of tips and great info not contained in the Apple manual. It's well laid out with pictures on almost every page, clear, and easy to read. After you spend $1000 on FCP you owe it to yourself to buy this book for $20. If you only learn 20 tips, that's a buck a tip. The author tells you at the beginning that if you are new to DV editing, you should learn DV first, and then read her book. Although a beginner can benefit from this book, it's more geared towards intermediate to advanced DV editors/producers. Great Job Lisa, and Thanks. --Richard

This book was a real disappointment. Poorly organized, nothing visual, and definitely nothing pro about it. A waste of time with repetitive information, few good tips, and confusing writing about simple tasks.

I had mixed feelings about this book. Ms. Brenneis just skims the surface of Final Cut Pro. Some areas are somewhat covered in depth and others aren't covered at all. The book could be doubled in size and just about cover the program. The author should go back and re-write and expand the into two volumes: Into to Final Cut Pro & Advanced Final Cut Pro.

I was very excited when I found this book...but I can't explain how disappointed I was when I got it home and read it. It is a basically a glossary. There are no techniquies or ideas for video effects. The author explains that the book is for those who have some experience in video editting. I disagree, this book is for those who have never used Final Cut Pro !! Terrible!!
