A dark and controlling evil, far greater than anyone could possibly imagine, has the small town of Grandeur Falls in its grasps. With seventeen victims under his belt, Donavan Wright wants nothing more than for the lovely Claire Henley to be his next. Fourteen years after her mysterious and sudden disappearance, Claire returns to the only home she has ever known. Desperate for a new beginning, she quietly tries to rebuild her life. Things begin to take on some semblance of normalcy as she attends the local college and makes new friends. When her best friend, Maggie, gets engaged to Marcus, a professor from the school, Claire is happy for her. Her happiness, however, is soon marred when her friend and study partner, Lela, is found murdered. Claire begins to worry. Could it be the sinister force that has followed her since the day she left Grandeur Falls? When Maggie also disappears, Claire knows it's not just a coincidence. Suspicions against Claire mount; after all, she's the only solid connection in each case. Detective Quaid Carrington, having worked on the most gruesome of murders and seen eerily similar cases, is the only man capable of clearing her name. Unfortunately for Claire, he also happens to be the very man whose heart she shattered fourteen years ago. Quaid, though he never really recovered after losing his high school sweetheart, begrudgingly agrees to help Claire. But as he begins to unravel the complexities of her past, he begins to doubt his ability to protect her from the evil lurking, waiting to destroy her. Together can they succeed in stopping the monster before Claire becomes his next victim, or will Claire be The Final Possession? A. M. Hunter lives in central Texas with her husband and their six children. The Final Possession is her first novel.

I was blow away!! This book was an excellent read! I personally can't wait to see what A.M. Hunter comes out with next! I love the way it was written. I had never read a "Christian" novel prior & was a little skeptical about if the "Christian" part would over weigh the story, but it was the perfect blend! I loved the characters, & how well they were built as well!! Definitely pick this up and read it!! Jenny
I just finish reading 'The Final Posession' . . . I was definitely not disappointed. A good story line with a few shocks & surprises. There were interresting psychological aspects to the story, you really get to see in the characters' persona. Christian values are well represented. And the ending... PERFECT! I am ready for A. M. Hunters next book.
I am a huge Frank Peretti Fan and am always on the look out for a Christian author who is able to hold my attention the way that his books do. Not only did The Final Possession hold my attention, I couldn't put it down! I was shocked to find out that this was A. M. Hunter's first novel. The first thing I want to touch on was the page length. I almost didn't purchase this book due to the fact that it was only two hundred and something pages. Let me tell you; don't judge a book by its page numbers! Every page was part of the story and very little room was wasted with empty space, making the novel much longer than I thought it would be when I bought it. It wasn't an overbearing length, but it was a lot to read considering I couldn't put it down! Secondly, the characters and plot depth that this novel held was wonderfully surprising. It is rare that I am shocked by the outcome of a book, but this time I was happily surprised with the twists within the plots and subplots, and am happy to report, I didn't figure this one out! The antagonist of the novel was one of my favorite characters. He was well developed and added the thriller aspect to the novel that one expects to find between the pages of a psychological thriller. He was, by far, one of the most interesting and scary bad guys that I have had the pleasure to read about in a long time. The spiritual content of The Final Possession was also well thought out. Claire, the protagonist, had to overcome some very terrible obstacles in her life. The story touches lightly on the taboo of lost/stolen purity. The lesson between the pages of this novel could really set some very hurt young women free. Claire worked her way through these situations with her faith in tact and a firm knowledge of overcoming. It was a beautiful picture of how Christ has made us more than conquerors! Of course, all of this happened with a crazy serial killer trying to chase the poor woman down! Another strong point of the book was that it stressed relationship with God over religion. I found this to be quite refreshing! The two love stories in the book were realistic and simplistic. Jane and Danny were the comic relief, when things got too intense, and Claire's complicated past with Detective Carrington was not all bubble gum and roses! This is one of the best romance novels I have read in a long time as well, even though the book wasn't listed as a romance at all! I liked the book so much that I plan on purchasing two more copies. One for myself, because mine was stolen by friends who are still passing it around, and the other for a friend that might find some healing in between the pages of this well told story.
