Intense suspense meets with wicked-sharp wit and humor in this one! Defense attorney Aurora Daniels is one tough skinned lady used to holding her own. Sheriff Beckett Marsh seems to like to goad her on. Two tough skulled people on opposing thought trains come together when the stakes run high and someone's out to kill Aurora! Can they solve the mystery before time runs out? This author knows how to take you for the ride of your life! And even in the midst of heart-stopping action, she'll make you laugh with the quick-witted banter between these two. It doesn't get any better than this. With my adrenaline running on high, I inhaled every page to find out what happened next. I had no idea who the killer was and trying to put the clues together was like trying to nail jello to the wall! Twists and turns galore! She also laces faith throughout and how each character struggles with their own and with the past guilt that shouldn't be on their shoulders. Of course, since this is a romance, they do fall in love eventually....each one fighting it until the bitter end. A thrill ride from page one! Grace-filled faith elements, high intense scenes, action-packed, and sweet romance all rolled into one highly recommended read! *I received a complimentary digital copy of the book from the author. I was under no obligation to leave a favorable review and all opinions expressed her are strictly my own. *

The action is fast, full of suspense and twists and turns as Beckett the Sheriff and Aurora the Defense Attorney butt heads and then find themselves caught up in a murder and Aurora the target of the murderer.. Suspense, action and a little romance make for a wonderful story and this is a winner!!

He is needing to always be the hero, the law. She is the voice for those buried in a system that is just. They are like fire and ice. Melting and blending to bring faith and passion alive. Beckett, you sir are wonderful (insert mic drop). Seriously, I drooled and swooned. Then ate a lot of chocolate and contemplated therapy because well, you’re a fictional man, too good to be true (outside of the pages of this book). Lucky for Aurora, or else that sweet, yet feisty gal would be given a run for her money. Back to Beckett. Wow, to know your inner thoughts as a reader only made me wish to be be in the book so much more. Even just for a smile. Beckett, Beckett, Beckett. Okay, now to the rest of the story. I related to these characters and their call to justice, order and law. I know I struggle with letting God be the judge over life, for the Bible to be the law. It was very refreshing to feel a kinship with both characters (Beckett, I LOVE you) and their struggles seemed real. I think many Christians struggle with understanding the outcome of scenarios, or order that doesn’t make sense to the chaos. We try, but we are human. I really enjoyed their connection, wow! If I wasn’t after the fictional man… Aurora is just the kind of female character I like, an egg lover (courage), a heart for the tough cases, and the ability to continue to face danger after almost meeting fate. She is a female that one could aspire to be. I loved her strength.

Wow!! What a wonderful romantic suspense, but it's also so much more that that. I was immediately pulled into the story and kept turning the pages until the end. So for me this was a one setting book that I finished late at night, but it was so worth it. The engaging characters immediately wove their way into my heart. Aurora is a feisty, young attorney that has one goal and that's to help others. She wants to advocate for second chances for those deserving. Beckett Marsh, the town sheriff, is a former Navy SEAL who known to be meticulous at his job and takes his oath of protecting people seriously. When Aurora takes own a case that makes her a target Beckett's skills are tested. This is a fast paced story that has elements of suspense, mystery, romance and lots of faith. This is the first book I've read by this author, but it won't be the last. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good suspense. *I received this book from the author, but was not required to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you haven't read a novel by Jessica Patch you are missing out! Final Verdict is my first novel by Ms. Patch, but she is definitely on my favorite writer list! She has a way of capturing your attention from the first page and not letting go until the story is over. I stayed up way past my bedtime trying to figure it all out, seriously it is THAT good. Aurora Daniels isn't a bad person, yet she feels that way sometimes. Defending those that others deem guilty isn't for the weak at heart. People get mad, make threats but sometimes those threats become reality. When she defended Austin Bledsoe for instance, she knew he had done wrong by drinking and driving and killing someone, but she didn't believe that it should cost him the rest of his life. He's a kid and he made a poor choice of judgement. He has great remorse and she believes he deserves a second chance. Of course, this makes her very unpopular to the town and the victim's family who believe the only justice is seeing Austin Bledsoe spend the rest of his life behind bars. When an anonymous man makes a threat from somewhere in the crowd Aurora shakes it off, until her car gets keyed, a whisky bottle comes through her window and she can't help but feel she's being stalked. Still, she's reluctant to rely on anybody for help. For all she knows they could be the ones after her. Beckett Marsh is a stand up guy although a bit intimidating. He and Aurora often find themselves on the opposite side of the law. He arrests them, she sets them free, but as a citizen of Hope he feels it is his duty to protect her. A duty he takes very seriously. He knows she has had trouble before, it comes with being good at her job, but this time it's personal. He decides to become her personal bodyguard and chauffeur until they can figure out who exactly is after her. With her job it could be any number of people or it could be someone related to her brother's case. She's determined to prove his innocence but in order to do that she will have to prove someone else guilty. I have to admit I'm leery of intrigue novels. I have a vivid imagination and if a novel goes too into detail I will stay awake for days. I wasn't too worried with this being a love inspired mystery though and was eager to get started. I have to admit I was wrong about my preconceived notions of this book. I figured about halfway through that I would have figured out who did it or at least have it narrowed down to the two main suspects. Ms. Patch threw me for a loop, not only did I not have a clue who did it, I had way too many suspects! She kept me guessing until the very end! * I was provided a free copy of this book. All opinions expressed above are my own.

I can see where Aurora can make enemies. I’d be looking over my shoulder constantly if I was her! But in walks Beckett. *cue dreamy sigh* The Sheriff who can protect her and help her to dig for the details she needs to find. Both of these characters have past issues they are struggling with and need to get over. Many twists, turns and piles of danger (I may or may not ever enter a coffee shop again!) – think you know who-dunnit? WRONG. This author is great at pointing you in different directions and totally throwing your predictions for a loop. The story builds to a fantastic and satisfying climax where you won’t be able to put the book down! I seriously loved the nail-biting suspense and danger throughout the whole story. Bookshelf keeper! And… CHICKENS!!!! I was given this book. These are my honest opinions.

Everyone was a suspect. Defense attorney Aurora Daniels took her job seriously and did it well. But in so doing, she made enemies. And as she dug up the truth in her quest to clear her deceased brother's name, she became more vulnerable. Beckett Marsh, the town sheriff, is on the opposite side of the law from Aurora. But when she is attacked, it becomes his job to protect her. Both characters were solid, moral people. Their banter was fun to witness, and their themes carried throughout the book. This novel was a page turner. From the sparks between the two strong personalities to the constant danger, it was impossible to put down! Those who enjoy suspense will find plenty of it in this book! I received a digital copy of this book from the author for review purposes. The thoughts expressed here are my own.

Jessica Patch is one of my favorite authors. This book is a good reason why. This book is about a defense attorney named Aurora. She is being stalked, and the handsome sheriff is the one to protect her. Sparks fly between the two as Beckett and Aurora learn to depend on each other and on the Lord. This book is fast paced with suspense, mystery, and romance. I was given a copy by the author and was under no obligation to leave a review.

Can a sheriff and a public defender put their jobs behind them and fall in love? How would it work if he arrested them and she defended them? Final Verdict is a must read inspirational suspense. Sheriff Beckett keeps his distance from Aurora Daniels as she defends people he thinks would be better off in jail. But as her life is threatened and he must protect her, he puts her safety above his own. Beckett is out to prove even though he couldn’t keep someone close to him safe in the past, he will do all he can to keep Aurora safe. But will he learn he can rely on God to help him, that he doesn’t have to do it all on his own? Who is out to kill Aurora? Time races as she and Beckett try to figure out who is after her. But can they keep their hearts from falling for each other? My favorite quote from the story: “Christians aren’t immune to grief, pain, anger or feelings of revenge. Trust me. If we don’t let God deal with those emotions—if we entertain them—we can end up in a very dark place. At the very least, bitter and cynical.” I loved the chemistry between these two characters. Final Verdict is a great suspenseful read! I received a free copy in the hope that I would mention/review it on my blog. I was not required to give a positive review, only my honest opinion - which I've done. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Jessica Patch has written another winner filled with heart-racing suspense! Or is that heart-racing romance? The answer is: "Yes!" Aurora Daniels, a defense attorney, and Beckett Marsh, the sheriff, (both introduced in a previous book) are quite an unlikely pair - after all, they are on different sides of the law. Sometimes, though, God has the perfect match in the most unlikely places. They shouldn't fall for each other, but they do, oh, they do! The dialogue between the two main characters is priceless Patch, sometimes funny, sometimes hits right to the heart. This is a book not to be missed by romantic suspense fans! Although the characters were introduced in a previous book, this book can be read as a standalone. I received an advanced copy of the book for honest review.

Final Verdict is powerful, intriguing, suspense filled and full of love and faith. The author tells a story that is full of excitement and at the same time, gives a glimpse of every day life of the characters. While reading this story, there were times when I actually jumped at a sound outside. This story kept me on the edge of my seat. Great lessons on trusting God and believing in yourself and others. I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest personal opinion.

Final Verdict, written by Jessica R. Patch, is the first book I've read by this author and definitely not the last! Wow, suspense and romance at its best! The realistic characters of public defender Aurora Daniels and former Navy SEAL, sheriff Beckett Marsh make this action packed Christian suspense/romance a nail biter! She's a small-town public defender with a BIG dose of confidence and a huge load of guilt over a previous case she couldn't defend added to it a loss of life because of it. He's a former Navy SEAL now Sheriff who is always in command, always telling everyone what to do and when to do it and making sure everyone is safe. Yet, he too has a boatload of heartache from a past situation when he couldn't save the one that he so wanted to protect. Lots of Big attitudes, confidence, romance, crime, guilt, faith, love, and yet a need for forgiveness packed in this awesome book! If you can handle all that, then you'll love this read! I was given this book by the author. All thoughts and comments are my own.

Final Verdict is another winner by Jessica Patch! I have loved every book she has written, but this is definitely one of my favorites. First, she writes such realistic characters who have real life struggles with their faith, their pasts, their families, etc. The she manages to develop a relationship between some of the most unlikely people (a defense attorney and a sheriff) and have the readers rooting for them. What I probably love the most about a Jessica Patch novel is the suspense she creates that has the reader hooked from page one! When it becomes very obvious that someone is after Aurora (the attorney), Beckett (the sheriff) makes it his mission to keep her safe. The list of possible suspects after her gets longer and longer as the book becomes more action-packed and edge-of-your-seat suspenseful. Just when I thought I had it figured out who was behind all of the events happening, another twist was thrown in. It definitely kept me guessing until the very end. An added bonus is readers get to meet a few characters from her new Security Specialists series which will be out this summer. Can't wait! Just make sure when you start reading Final Verdict, you have some spare time because you are not going to want to put it down!! I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

an I just start out with oh-my-goodness?! I LOVED this book! I’m not even exaggerating - this book was awesome! I finished it and immediately wanted to dive into another of Ms. Patch’s books and find out what I’d been missing! I was so looking forward to this book, especially after meeting being introduced to the two main characters in the previous book, “Concealed Identity.” And I can happily say that it exceeded all of my expectations! I found that I really enjoy Ms. Patch’s writing style. I’m not entirely sure I can describe it, but it’s kinda . . . . comfortable. Picking up her books feels like revisiting old friends, even if the story is brand new. I’m confident that I’ll love the people she’s created and want to just keep devouring her books - they’re addicting! They flow smoothly and I love all of the Southern expressions that I’ve either heard used and I laugh, or I’ve never heard of and they still make me laugh! And her characters are so realistic! I felt as though I’d known Aurora and Beckett for ages, instead of just a few pages. I also really appreciated getting into Aurora’s head and learning how she could do a job that’s so controversial. Especially when she was stuck in close quarters with Beckett, who’s job was in contrast with hers. I loved her sass and determination and unwillingness to back down. Poor Beckett, I felt a little bad for him, but he was just so bossy (he prefers “commanding”) and needed someone who would stand up to him and tell him what’s what. They complimented each other so well and I so enjoyed getting to know them better and going through the mystery with them. Ms. Patch is excellent at misdirection and keeping me guessing, that’s for sure! Until the very end, I was still debating and trying to figure out what was going on and who was lying and who was telling the truth. And the ending! Definitely worth a sigh or two. I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a mystery that will keep you on your toes, mixed with a romance that may inspire a few sighs here and there! My thanks to the author for my complimentary copy of this book! I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.
