Chase Halloway's father is the president of Atlas, the drug dealing motorcycle gang that terrorizes most of our desert town.

My stepfather turns out to be a rival drug dealer, and I'm pretty sure he killed my mom two years ago.

I'm not supposed to fall in love with Chase. He's not supposed to know I even exist.

But when he finds me, he can't let go.

And when I find myself in his arms?

I hold tight. I have to.

Because if I don't, I might just die.

With or without him.

Until meeting Chase, Allie has one specific goal-get out of town. Chase had one specific goal too but now it includes Allie. Finding out her stepfather is up to no good, Allie continues to seek comfort and safety in Chase's arms. Will both families destroy their new love? Meli Raine captured every emotion. This is a must read!

Finding Allie is beautifully raw, achingly real, and stunningly heartfelt story of two broken people who are longing for a deeper connection that will allow them to spread their wings and fly. I was completely captivated by this incredible journey, and I found that my heart is no longer my own. What a wonderfully exciting start to a promisingly brilliant journey of hope, love, and determination! Allie can't wait to escape the live that she has been forced to stay trapped in. While her sister was able to walk away and begin living her dreams, Allie is held captive into a life that she never wanted. She longs to leave her current existence in favor of running after her dreams. Just as those wishes make their way from her heart to her head, in walks a man who will turn her entire world upside down and right side up. He is everything she shouldn't want, but she knows that he is exactly what she needs and wants. Chase isn't looking for a love that breathes life into him and gives him a driving determination that he has been looking for when he walks into a bar for a refreshing drink, but that's exactly what he gets. Allie not only takes him my surprise, but shows him exactly what he has been wanting for a very long time - unconditional acceptance, untainted love, and refreshing challenge. He protects her from a fight that breaks out and in the process finds out that he wants to protect her forever. Will he lose the one ray of sunshine in his life, or will he fight for his heart and his future? Allie and Chase stole my heart, and I don’t want it back. They are from similar yet different worlds, and they are drawn to each other in a way that neither can explain nor want to fight. The more they get to know the other, they discover that they complement the other and cannot stop the intense pull to be together. Allie finds the missing piece to her heart, and Chase understands that Allie completes him in a way that he can’t explain and will not live without. Two characters that develop so exquisitely and pull at my heart like these two have are such a wonderful pleasure to read about. I can’t wait to read more of their deeply passionate and deceptively dangerous journey. Meli Raine’s debut series is simply outstanding! I love the danger, the intrigue, the passion, and the feeling of something that seems so very real. This feels more like someone’s honest life story instead of just a made up work of fiction. Within this story I have found a rare honesty and a breathless love that has gripped my heart and will not let go.

Take the good 'bad boy' and the good girl with a tragic past. Add a little bit of Romeo and Juliet and you'll get this great first book in this series. Can't wait to read the rest!

A modern Romeo and Juliet take with lots of twists. Allie is trying to escape her step father and Chase is trying to escape the life his father wants for him. When they meet sparks fly and the connection is immediate. As they think things are under control a curve ball is thrown their way. A story filled with passion, love, ruthless family, and loyalty. I can't wait to finish the series!

Couldn't get past 40 pages. Repetitious, repetitious, repetitious. Had the 40 pages I read been about 8 pages, I might not have gotten bored and bailed. I think the author has potential but needs to tighten up the story lines to make them more interesting

Over Rated Poorly written, unrealistic, cheesy. A YA might like it but anyone with an imagination or sense of reality will struggle to finish this immature read.

Romeo meets Juliet meets modern day.... I wasn't sure how I would originally feel about his book with involving Motorcycle Clubs but I was instantly hooked. Ali is stuck in this small town with her stepfather, he won't let her leave after her mother has passed away. Its been 2 years and she's saving every penny she can to get with her sister. After a motorcycle club rolls into the bar Chase enters.... WOW.. instant heat comes from these too... Chase brings this new side out in Ali.... She's almost come alive inside... I really enjoyed this book and am so thrilled to have read it as an ARC.... of course there is a cliffy but it just makes you want to jump right into book 2!!

Entertaining and intriguing Favorite Quotes: “Everything here is just practice until real life begins.” “The air changes.  I’m filled with worry, like someone’s injected it into me.” “Light brown eyes with yellow chips, like someone shattered a gemstone.  His eyes are like a lion’s, the color of a mane.” “He looks like a boxer dog that drank too much coffee.” “Arms, legs, boots, fists…. The room likes like someone took a bunch of people and put them in a blender.” “I’m upset that Marissa put the idea in my head.  And now it’s there, like a weed that spreads its seed as far as possible to grow and choke out all the good plants.” My Review: Meli Raine’s Finding Allie is straddling the genres of YA and NA.  This is my first Meli Raine read and I look forward to completing the series.  She has a unique yet comfortable writing style that is highly descriptive.  Her colorful depictions brought a smile to my lips and a vivid picture to my imagination.  The story was a quick and easy read that held my interest and plucked at my curiosity.  I am eager to start book #2 Chasing Allie next.

I was privileged to receive an ARC of this book from it's author, Meli Raine...thank you so very much for the opportunity to read it. Finding Allie is the first book in a three book series and what a great start to the series...we find Allie working in a bar with her stepfather who is way to overprotective for a stepfather! All Allie wants to do is continue to save enough money (she secretly hides in it a music box from her mother in the tampon machine) to get to LA to be with her sister... enter one day Chase a sexy, hot, handsome biker who is instantly drawn to Allie and she to him. This story has moments where you will shed a tear, chuckle, sigh and want to take a punch at someone...but most of all you want Allie's dream of getting away from her stepfather to come least I did. There are secrets that had me saying out loud oh my god he can't do that! This book does end with a cliff hanger so be pre-warned! I will not reveal any secrets because I do not want to spoil this for anyone who is going to read this series but I will say that Allie and Chase accept each other for who they are and their acceptance of each other is is their love...I look forward to reading more from Meli Raine as I do love a good MC love story with some mystery thrown in.

This was sent to me by the author for an honest review. So far this series has good potential. Chase sounds like a dreamy guy and I like the chemistry between him and Allie. Allie does seem to be on the naïve side but I understand that comes from living a sheltered life. From the start Jeff sounds like a shady character but I'm glad that he never did anything perverted to Allie. However, the reason why he never did is a nice twist and I'm looking forward to reading more in this series. The only thing I wish is that the story included Chase's pov

I rec'd an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a very intriguing new series and it really grabs you. I was fortunate to have a "snow day" today and got to read this first book of the series. I am glad that I already have the second book since the first leave you hanging a little. There is a ton of mystery in this book along with a sweet love story. Chase and Allie are adorable together plus have the chemistry of a young couple in love. Allie's story of her life with her step-father will really pull at your heart-strings. Chase seems to be her knight in leather instead of shining armor, riding in on a motorcycle instead of a white horse. I can't wait to read the rest of this series!

Not Bad.. just wish the writing was more detailed. I was sent an arc copy of this. I would rate it 2.5 stars. It isn't a bad book at all. I mostly just think it needs to be expanded and more feeling put into the writing. I has good bones to it just needs something more to make it a truly good story. Allie is just a little to naive for me and Chase a little to soft for being a biker. Though the chemistry between them is good.

This is a great story with Allie and Chase. Allie works in her stepfathers bar and Chase is part of a local MC. When they first meet, they are drawn to each other. Allie has never had a man effect her the way Chase does. While her stepfather Jeff tells her to stay away from Chase, she can't stop thinking about him. Chase wants her and wants to protect her. This is a modern day Romeo and Juliet story and I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to start book 2, Chasing Allie. **Copy provided by the author in exchange for my honest review**

Finding Allie (Breaking Away Series #1) by Meli Raine  ** I received an ARC from the Author in exchange for my honest review ** This story totally stole my heart.  The characters of Chase and Allie are beautifully written.  I found myself completely captivated by this story and quickly devoured each and every word.  This is the first in a three-part series that ends in a cliffhanger.  I am a fan of a good cliffy but was glad I had book two waiting on my Kindle.

First time reading this author. Received an arc in exchange for an honedt review. Allie has been trying to get away from her stepfather for years, she is almost there when Chase enters the bar. It is love at first sight. But like a modern day Romeo & Juliet their families are from rival drug dealers. Can true love win out? So glad I found this author through JJ Knight, and if you love her writing you will absolutely love Meli's.

This was a good start to the Breaking Away Series By Meli Raine. Chase is the son of Galt The President of Atlas Motorcycle Club, he knows that his father and other club members do bad things and Chase really doesn't want to be a part of it but his father is training him to become the VP of the club. Allie lives with her stepfather Jeff and works in his bar, Allie doesn't get paid but she does make tips and she's hiding them so she can move to LA to be with her sister that moved there a few years earlier. Allie has no one, her mother died two years ago and she thinks her stepfather may have killed her, her best friend is leaving for college in a few weeks and then she will be totally alone. Until she meets Chase, it's instant chemistry between the two of them, Chase makes it his business to protect her when all hell breaks out in the bar, from that point on they desperately want to be together but both fathers (father/stepfather) are against it. Besides her stepfather has other plans for her so he needs to make sure Chase doesn't damage the goods...... Sounds very ominous doesn't it, well I'll tell you a secret, Poor Allie doesn't know any of this and although she doesn't like her stepfather much she NEVER thought he would do something like this..... I'm off to read Chasing Allie to see what happens next.
