Finding Me by S. K. Hartley

The lines are blurred between what is real and what isn't, the darkness that was once a place I feared was now a place of safety. If I stayed in the darkness, the hellish reality of what was truly happening no longer seemed real.

But I was about to be pulled from beneath the consuming blanket of dark shadows, and plunged into the murky depths of my past. I was about to be shown my demons and all their evil sides, all of their pain and grief. I could only hope I survive it.

What happens when the world you once knew crumbles and falls at your feet?

Who will find me? Who will save me from my demons?

My dark prince or my white knight...

And will I find myself in the process?

Finding Me (Bad Boy #2) by S.K. Hartley 4 of 5 Stars Finding Me is the second installment of the Bad Boy series and we see brought in right where Finding You left off. Neva is trapped in the basement of Angel's parents' house and in a sticky situation. Soon after discovering that Jack Walker was the driver responsible for the death of her father, a disturbing and sickening revelation comes to light, shattering Neva's world and breaking our hearts.  After many therapy sessions and throwing herself full force into school, Neva makes a gut wrenching decision to leave her true love in the dust once and for all in order to heal. Instead of the indecision that we witnessed when Neva was torn between Angel and Logan, now we find her struggles to be internal.  This part of the story hits home for me because it deals with the sudden death of a loved one and the coping that comes with it over time. Neva's struggle with PTSD and her survivor's guilt are so real that I was drawn in and felt her pain as it poured off of the pages. I love that she used the one thing that had once been a painful experience for her to help her move out of the past and to look forward to the future. Also, this shows that if you're truly meant to be with someone, you will always find your way back to them.  *Complimentary copy received in exchange for an honest review.*  Meagan, My Secret Book Spot
