Liam Westbury has the world at his feet. He's the quintessential golden boy. He's the superstar quarterback for Beaumont High. His girl, Josie, is head cheerleader. He has his choice of colleges just waiting for him. Except he's suffocating from all the pressure he's under and no one understands.

Liam Page is the heartthrob he never wanted to be. He's successful, smart and in demand by record companies and his adoring fans. Music is his passion, his love, but something's missing. His nights are lonely and he longs for the girl he left behind. Seeing her in every face in the crowd haunts him with the knowledge that she hates him. Going home has never been an option until now.

Be there when Liam Westbury becomes Liam Page and follow the highs and lows of the Quarterback turned Rockstar as he finds a way back to Beaumont in this prequel to Forever My Girl.

I had s hard time getting through this book, mainly because of the poor editing job -extra words, missing words, wrong words. Guess maybe  I am too fussy about grammar etc. In what I read.t

I've loved every book in this series.  Finding My Way allowed us to see into Liam's thought processes and also gave us more of how he met Harrison and became friends with him as well as some of his back story.  I enjoyed getting to know more about them.  I'm looking forward to more from Heidi.

How Liam Page came to be and what the hell happened in the time between when he left and  finally brought his a$$ home.  I loved it.  Besides the fact we are given Harrison’s back story and meet the amazing Quinn. Getting the background into how Liam became a star- the sacrifice’s he made and how he never, not for one moment, stopped loving Josie. His path was twisted to be sure.  Not to say that MANY of his choices made me cringe. As he matured and starting making decisions that actually were thought out we see the man he is becoming.  It broke my heart that he was so lonely.  I fell more in love with Liam- didn’t matter what last name he used.  Realizing that his choices didn’t need to be either/or-AMAZING.

I love the Beaumont series. This book did not disppoint. When I found out the prequel was coming out, I could not wait. I was not able to start the book when it came out however used my down time in Spring Break to become engrossed in the complicated life of Liam. The author did an excellent job of getting the reader into Liam's 18 year old mind. My heart broke for him. I saw Josie in a different light. I believe if these turn of events did not happen, they would have become a statistic. I believe Josie is a stronger person because of this. I feel more in love with Harrison! Excellent book by an excellent author that brings out all kinds of emotions!

¿A poignant, impassioned and turmoiled change of course.¿ My rating: 4 of 5 ¿¿ Quarterback in the NFL, that is what everyone sees for Liam Westbury's future. Growing up in Beaumont, Liam has been primed by his father from an early age to fill that role and the whole town has eagerly stood by and waited. Final year in Beaumont High should be perfection, with the love of his life, Josie, by his side and colleges lined up for him to pick from. Except that it isn't. Everyone simply assumes this is what HE wants, but no one ever asks as if no one really cares. Buckling under the pressure of expectations that are not his own, Liam decides to follow his heart and it leads him to places he has only dreamed about. Finally feeling he is doing what he was meant to do, he should be happy, but he isn't. Not really. Making music and performing for large crowds of cheering fans are the greatest feeling, but until that one particular person is cheering him on from the crowd, he won't be complete. Years of working hard in the industry has put him in a place where he can be proud of what he has accomplished. Finally he feels ready to face his past, but will he be ten years too late? ***** Heart-breaking and uplifting at the same time!! With this novel Heidi McLaughlin has written, she has answered the request of many, hoping to get a backstory on Liam Page, and what happened before. Well folks, here you have it. Quite the contrast from preppy jock to tattoo-toting rocker, but the transition is so logical and completely plausible as described by Heidi.  Her insight in the workings of the adolescent teenage mind are obvious, evidenced in the described struggle between the adult 'need' and the child 'want' in Liam. That boy was so conditioned to be a pleaser, always making sure everyone else was taken care of and looked good. A leader not just on the field, but one in life. Someone who was not just followed, but who felt great responsibility to his followers. So much so, that he denied himself, for fear of disappointing them. Sadly, it is difficult to find fault with anyone other than the parental units in this case. When Liam finds his dream to pursue, his own dream, he finds himself on his own. Being young and impressionable and thrown into the deep end of the crazy world of music, he has to learn his lessons. But his own strong moral compass and good sense of self pulls him through and makes him a stronger person and better performer. One even he can be proud of. All he would want now is the pride of the girl with whom he left his heart. Spanning about ten years, the story jumps from a long earlier segment into a few shorter, later segments leading to Liam's return to Beaumont. Although I enjoyed being able to peek in on his progress over the years, I feel I missed out on some major events along the way. On the whole the last portion of the book felt a little choppy because of the gaps in time, although I understand needing to create connective tissue to the rest of the story. FINDING MY WAY is technically the Prequel to the first book in the series; FOREVER MY GIRL, and so I guess could probably be read as a first book if you chose to do so, but I would still suggest you read it where it is in the series. This book won't serve well as a standalone, since there is too much left open and unresolved at the end that, unless you've read the other books, will never find conclusion. ¿A poignant, impassioned and turmoiled change of course.¿ **Copy provided in return for an honest review.**

The Other Side of the Coin ~When your heart beats for one and that one isn’t with you, nor do you know how to stop her from consuming you day in and day out, what else can you do? Nothing, that’s what. Your life takes on a different meaning when you break your own heart.~ Every once in a while a series comes along that is so beautifully written, each book so flawlessly intertwined with the next, that once you open the newest one there’s only one thing that can describe it; it’s like coming home. That is the simplest and purest way I can think of to describe what the Beaumont series is to me. I’ve been with this series from the beginning, and have now read it in its entirety a few times. This is a series that pulls you into the characters lives, making you feel like you live next door, so entrenched in their comings and goings, you aren’t simply a bystander; you’re family. And as is the case with family, sometimes you have to go back to the beginning to understand where you came from. ~Her presence makes the hair on my neck stand up. My body tingles when she’s looking at me. I don’t pretend to understand how love works, but I feel it. She’s in my bones. I need her to survive.~ McLaughlin does something a little unique with this installment in the Beaumont series; while this is technically book four, it’s more of a prequel to Forever My Girl.  And while you may think this is redundant, as we already know how the events played out, you couldn’t be more wrong. While none of the events will change the outcome, they will definitely alter your perspective. Not only that, but to fully understand the complexity that is Liam Page, we have to revisit the past and discover what made him the man he is today. What you will discover is that things aren’t always so black and white. There isn’t a right or wrong party, just merely misunderstood teenagers, trying to find their place in the world. How can anyone be expected to know at eighteen years old what they want to do for the rest of their life? Who they are? Where they are going? In order to figure those things out, you have to actually experience life a little bit. Because if not, you will always wonder what if? And this is exactly the existential crisis that Liam faces.  ~She’s my peace. My calm. I just need her in my life to make everything okay.~ Full warning: you are going to see a completely different Liam than you are used to. At the core, he is still there, but I found I grew up with him in this book. While my love never wavered for this character, I discovered that like an onion, he had so many more uncovered layers. Each layer you pulled back only revealed how truly passionate this young man was in every facet of his life. Topics that are briefly skimmed throughout the other books are delved into deeply in this one. By experiencing this alongside Liam, you are able to grasp a better understanding of him, and your love only grows deeper with every turn of the page. Sympathy, rage, gut-wrenching moments; they’re all experienced here. McLaughlin leaves no stone unturned.  ~I put a stop to the dream so we can have a chance at a future…someday.~ There are so many specific instances that I could delve into, but I am going to let you experience the journey as I did; blindly. Only then can you truly grasp what it is that McLaughlin achieved in portraying; a broken boy who, through many missteps, grew into a man. A man that Josie could be proud of. A man that knew who he was. A man who followed his dreams towards his forever.  ~“I love you Josie Preston. You own my heart. You stole a little piece of it the moment I saw you and you’ve taken the rest every day since.”~

I'm not surprised anymore.. Heidi writes one of the best series ever!! This book deserves more that 5 stars.I loved seeing Liam and Mason's friendship in this book it was wonderful to read about them and heartbreaking at the same time. You get to fully understand what Liam's reasoning is to leave Beaumont and try his hand at was not a easy choice he makes but it he was tired of being someone to everybody he wasn't and he deserved to be happy doing what he loves. You will not be disappointed reading  this book it is by far one of the best book Heidi McLaughlin has wrote and I can't wait for more of her books!!
