Finding Our Forever (Silver Springs Series #1) by Brenda Novak

New York Times bestselling author Brenda Novak welcomes readers to the town of Silver Springs, where surprises wait around every corner!

The search for her birth mother brought Cora Kelly to the New Horizons Boys Ranch. Getting a job there was easy enough, but confiding in Aiyana, the ranch's owner, that she's really her daughter? Cora's not sure she can do that, not unless she's confident the news will be welcomed. And once she gets to know Elijah Turner—Aiyana's adopted son and ranch manager—that decision becomes even more difficult.

Although Elijah can't deny his deep attraction to Cora, he's always struggled with trust. Anyone with his past would, and there's something about the ranch's newest employee that isn't exactly as it seems. But if the feelings she awakes in his guarded heart are any indication, she might be just what he's long been waiting for.

An intriguing love story with added suspense that is a trademark of the author. I look forward to the next story in the series that features the characters from the Boy's Ranch and the small community of Silver Springs. LA-TXN

Another great story in the Silver Springs saga. My favorite so far. This is the third book I have read in the series. All are good stories, plausible and possible. Characters are believable and lovable.

The reviews made me think I would read the book in one day. But it was just okay. Cora and Eli going back and forth got boring

A good start to a new series by Brenda Novak. The search for her birth mother leads Cora to Silver Springs and the New Horizons Boys School where on the first day she meets Elijah, her birth mother's adopted son. Although there are definite sparks, Eli tells Cora that there can be nothing between them except a physical relationship. Before long, Eli is having trouble keeping his distance and Cora is conflicted about whether or not to tell her secret. This is not one of my favorite books by Brenda Novak, but that could be because so many of my favorite books come from her Whiskey Creek series and I'm not ready to leave them behind.

(3.75-4 stars) This was my first Brenda Novak book and I can’t wait to read more of her catalog. I enjoyed not only Cora and Eli falling in love but also Cora connecting with her biological mother. The author has a very mature writing style and I felt Cora’s need to know where she came from. On the other side of the coin I also felt the pain and hurt her “parents” felt due to that desire. I’m looking forward to meeting the rest of the Silver Springs residents in future installments.

What a great start to a new series. I thoroughly loved this story of Cora trying to locate her birth mother. It's full of love, new friendships and family. Love can allow a person to trust again as Eli realizes. I laughed and shed a few tears as I read. Brenda Novak did a splendid job in getting you interested from the beginning right through to the end. I had a hard time putting it down. Looking forward to learning more about the people and town of Silver Springs.

Looks like this will be another fantastic series for Brenda Novak. What an emotional, loving well written story line. I love that Cora reunites with her biological mother, finds the love of her life and a true purpose in life. This book definitely pulled at the heartstrings.

Brenda Novak's Finding Zour Forever Welcome to Silver Springs, California area. We will be visiting the New Horizons Boys Ranch. This is a boarding school for troubled teens. It was founded by Aiyana Turner who works with her staff to help heal these troubled teen boys. She has even adopted eight of these boys. Cora Kelly applied to teach art at New Horizons. She was interviewed and hired by Elijah, the oldest of Aiyana's adopted sons. All is well but Cora has a secret.....Aiyana is Cora's biological mother whose identity was discovered with the aide of a private detective. Cora wanted to meet her biological mother and decided to teach as a means to this end. What Cora never expected was the undeniable chemistry that would occurred between Elijah and Cora. How will she reveal her true identity ?? This was an emotional stunning story. The author puts the reader into the feelings of the adopted Cora. You feel as she feels and thinks as she starts on her quest, gets to the Ranch, deals with her parents that raised her, until the final page. The reader get to feel and think the way the parents that raised her feel. You experience what all the characters are feeling. You discover that ALL people and characters have flaws but with trust, love and forgiveness are able to overcome life's circumstances. I volunteered to read this eBook. Thanks to the author for the opportunity. My opinion is my own.

The blurb sold me and knowing the author's superb style of writing and going to the depths of the emotions with her characters with unexpected plot twists, I was eager to read this book one for her new series. And the story is good. The writing is smooth and the tale is flowing well off the pages with the interesting setting of the private high school for troubled boys and the intriguing characters with pained past. These elements could have provided distraught moments and agitated events in the story and great character development with the protagonists, yet that never really happens. The students are barely mentioned and the history of the characters is smoothly passed with the main focus of the story being Cora and Elijah's physical attraction. I think this might be a case of my misplaced expectations, but I was surprised with the turn and focus the plot took us. Elijah Turner was horribly abused as a child and suffered greatly at the hands of his mother and step-father. Even with his mother still harassing him, Elijah had left his childhood drama in the past and didn't let it much bother him. I liked Elijah, his dedication to the school and his solid, honest, and trustworthy character were admirable. I loved his connection with his brothers, and the easy relationship they shared with each other and with their adoptive mother. Cora Kelly's need to find more about her origin drove her to the New Horizons Boys Ranch to get to know her birth mother. She goes about this with lies and deceit, yet that is overlooked quickly as the truth comes out. I had a hard time liking her and her decisions, she seemed to do everything from a point of view that suited herself the best and disregarding others. She is also very brazen at the beginning of the tale with everyone, and not in a positive way, in my opinion. The development of the relationship is mostly focused on the physical aspects, the burning attraction between Cora and Elijah that has them acting upon it in public places and even in a classroom during a lunch break. Addition to public sex scenes, the story touches 'tabu relationships'. With the compelling storyline and smooth writing, interesting setting for the series, and the charming brothers that you want to root for, this series has a great potential to be a fan favorite. ~ Three Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

Not having been adopted (or even been close to anyone that I knew was adopted) it is hard to imagine what kind of questions Cora has about herself. To finally be able to put that restlessness behind her is a temptation she can't pass up. Eli comes from kinda the opposite point - he knows where he came from, it just isn't a happy place. Their pasts have left both of them with some baggage that they have to figure out how to handle. Baggage that is only complicated when they start to fall for each other, thanks to their ties to Aiyana. This is not the first of Novak's books I've read ... and it DEFINITELY won't be the last. I love how she somehow makes Finding Our Forever real and pretty drama-free, but still engrossing. There is so much growth and discovery for both Cora and Elijah and yet when everything comes to a head they don't let things overwhelm them. It would have been so easy for Novak to have them weighted down with hurt feelings and damaged pride, but instead they handle things with grace and sensitivity. There are so many possible options for where to go with future books and, as a fan of damaged heroes, I'm looking forward to all the possibilities! *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

Brenda Novak does it again in her new book Finding Our Forever. The romance between the main characters is carefully crafted to support the uncertainty they feel about their pasts secrets. Only leaving you to guess the final outcome.

This was such a touching story between Eli and Cora. This is the first book in the Silver Springs series and what a great beginning! Another 5 star book by Brenda Novak. Cora has had a great life, but being adopted, she always felt like something was missing. Cora secretly found her mom and got a job teaching art at her mother's school for wayward teens, in hopes of getting to know her. What Cora wasn't expecting was the attraction she would have for her mother's adopted son, Eli. Eli was once one of the struggling teens in the school after suffering physical abuse by his parents. Cora's mom had adopted him, and later, 7 other boys. Eli didn't trust easy, but Cora was different than anyone he'd met before. I loved reading this story and would highly recommend it. It's got a little bit of everything!

Great Read! Don't miss this one! This is a wonderful story about a girl who needs some answers. Have you ever had something that wouldn't let you go? Something that haunted your dreams and crept into your every thought? That is what Aiyana is for Cora. After all these years of wondering, Cora has finally met her birth mother, and she hopes to discover the answer to all of the questions. But life is rarely so straight forward, and never simple, because although Cora has been searching and wondering about her birth mother for years, Aiyana has no idea who she is, nor why she took the job to work with trouble boys in a remote area of southern California. And now that she has met her birth mother, she has even more questions. Why did she give her up, did she ever wonder about her, did she ever even cross her mind? On top of everything else, Cora is extremely attracted to Aiyana's adopted son Elijah, who happens to be her new boss… this can’t be good! Cora has a new job, new town, new home, and an opportunity to finally get to know Aiyana... the last thing she needs is a sexy boss who she can’t seem to keep her mind, or hands, off of. Elijah has his own struggles, his own demons, and the more she gets to know him, the more she can’t seem to keep her heart from falling. Ms. Novak has done it again. I absolutely loved this book, I fell in love with the characters, the town and the school. The story kept me captivated, I read it in one setting, could not put it down, then turned back to the first cover and read it again!!

Brenda Novak has done it again, she has created another series and great town for everyone to fall in love with. I look forward to learning more about all of the characters that were introduced to us in this first book. I really enjoyed the patience and understanding that Elijah and Cora have for each other that blooms into something great. The love that Aiyana has for all of her adopted sons definitely shows thru Brenda's writing and look forward to hearing about her and Cal's story too!
