Harper Kirkpatrick is a beautiful and talented design school graduate who can't seem to finish anything she starts or find a job in her chosen career field. She's been told this all her life, even from her boyfriend who up and leaves her high and dry in Savannah to pursue his dream in the California world of filmmaking. Working for as an entertainer for children's parties isn't paying the bills fast enough so when her boss offers her a chance to make more money, Harper doesn't even blink. At least she doesn't until she realizes that the job is stripping for a bachelor party. Cameron Bennett is a wealthy businessman and architect who works constantly to restore as many buildings/homes as he can in an effort to preserve Savannah's history. He's also a widower and single father struggling to help his 4yr old daughter past an eating disorder that seems to be more psychological than anything else. He knew throwing a bachelor party for his college buddy was a bad idea and once he sees Harper, his doubts are reinforced because while she's the hottest thing he's seen in a long time especially dressed in her Catwoman suit, he knows she's no stripper and after a minor disaster calls a halt to the entertainment and sends her on her way. Harper is now desperate because she's sure she's going to get fired and evicted all in the same breath. She begins a job search and answers an ad for a nanny. Ok, so she doesn't have any experience but the salary is way too good for her to pass up the opportunity to try. When she shows up for her interview, it is none other than at the home of her most recent failure. Nonetheless she pushes through and lands the job but soon realizes that she just maybe in over head and her heart. This was a great and easy read with relatable subject matter. The characters were funny, heartwarming and completely believable. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and CAN NOT wait to read the others in the series.

Finding Southern Comfort is an old fashion southern romance novel set in Savannah, Georgia. Harper is a nanny taking care of Bella. Bella lost her mother in a car accident, and she developed an eating disorder. Bella at age five eats only baby cereal. Harper and Bella's father slowly develop a friendship that might become romantic. This is a warm romantic story emphasizing the importance of family and friendship. The novel would be a good companion for Spring Break!

The initial first pages were almost a game changer for me. But I am on bedrest with nothing better to do, so I read on. There was only one way the story could go, and it did. It got better and I did enjoy the read.

A 200 page free adult romance in modern Savannah. Why does the girl always seem to be a klutz in this type of romance? Always tripping, stumbling around, etc, etc, etc. After you get past the predictable stumbling embarrassing woebegone beginning for the girl, the book is actually an interesting story without a predictable plot. So hang in past the beginning chapter and it does get interesting, and quits reminding you of a TV sitcom of The Nanny. There is a sex scene but at the end of the book not in the first chapter.

Cute She is working at a party not realising her boss set up to strip. Hot southern gentleman. But needs a nanny for his little girl. She needs a job. The challenges are great, but the rewards are better.

Loved the beginning! (No spoilers here.) Harper, Bella and Cameron are all outstanding characters. I almost feel like I know them. This is a prequel to an awesome series of books. I did not want to put this down. I highly recommend the entire series.

Really enjoyed this book. Different from the typical romance book,in a good way. Has plenty of humor. The ending is predictable but you will have fun getting there.

After graduating from design school, Harper Kirkpatrick couldn’t find a job. Needing to earn some money so she wouldn’t get evicted, she got a temporary position working as being the entertainment for children's parties. That was working fine for her, until her boss sent her to entertain at a bachelor party. They expected a stripper which she was not. Even dressed in a Catwoman suit she couldn’t pull it off. It didn’t take long for the host to realize she wasn’t experienced and send her on her way. Single father Cameron Bennett is a wealthy architect who works long hours restoring buildings in Savannah. Needing a nanny for his 4-year-old daughter, Bella, and help for his housekeeper, he places an ad. Harper is desperate for money so she applies even though she doesn’t have any experience with children. Imagine her shock when her interview is at the very house where she messed up at the bachelor party. She had to go in because she couldn’t pass up the chance to make the money the job was offering and it came with an apartment. She was thrilled to get the job. But could she take care of the little girl? I really liked this book. Even though Harper was wacky in her dress and behaviour, she had a good heart. I liked her a lot. Harper was wonderful with Bella. Bella clearly had issues, proven in her eating disorder. But Harper patiently worked with her on this. Cameron was a surprise. His earlier life was waaaay different from his current, wealthy one. Not everyone in this story was wonderful, though. Like Cameron’s girlfriend, Kimmy. She was someone you couldn’t help dislike. Even though the ending was a bit fast, I liked the way things turned out in this heartwarming book.

When Harper Kirkpatrick arrives for a party at the home of Cameron Bennett she knows she's in the wrong place at the wrong time but one disastrous night doesn't stop her from returning the next day to interview for a job she desperately needs to pay her bills. Cameron is a wealthy and successful man who would gladly give all of his wealth away if he could help his daughter. Because Harper comes from a very large family she's convinced she can be Bella's nanny because she's not intimidated by Bella, or her eating condition. This is a really sweet romance between a sexy southern gentleman, a sassy northern beauty and an adorable young child that's guaranteed to melt your heart.

We are introduced to Harper Kirkpatrick when she shows up to deliver a performance at a child’s birthday party, wearing a catsuit aka Catwoman…only she was sent to perform at a bachelor party for some very drunk guys. Except for Cameron Bennett. He’s stone cold sober. Cameron quickly recognizes that something is not right with the “dancer” that was hired for the bachelor party but Harper vainly tries to pull off a performance. It doesn’t go so well and Cameron escorts her out. Fast forward a bit and Harper applies for a nanny position at, yep, you guessed it: Cameron’s home for his little girl! Their story truly is all about the dance they do to keep their distance from one another and how they try to help little Bella. Bella will make you smile, make you shake your head, and break your heart all at the same time. The author did a great job writing Bella’s character and I really enjoyed how the three seemed to work thru their problems. Loved, loved, loved Cameron’s “staff” – they have sneaky senses of humor that I really enjoyed. And Kimmy, Cameron’s girlfriend? Hooboy! And Harper’s best friend in Savannah? It’s wonderful to have a friend like him. Great read – I read it straight thru in an evening but it IS book length. I just stayed up later than I should have. I can’t wait to read about the rest of the “Windy City” gal pals!
