**ARC**  Tessa has been going through life in a blur. Trying to make it till the day that her body lets her know it is time.  Tessa has been volunteering her time at a local facility for people who suffer from Huntington's.  The very same disease that took her sister and Father and made her mother leave, the very same disease that will some day take her life as well. She doesn't have time in her life for love, because she doesn't want someone to suffer the way she did and her mother did,  when they watch their loved one dying and there is nothing you can do about it.  Well that was until Brian came into her life.  Brian has lost his wife to Huntington's and never thought he would be able to open his heart again, until he heard her laugh at his brothers wedding. He has not been able to stop thinking about her. He sees her at the facility that his wife was at before she passed away. He sees her fall all of a sudden while she is up jogging on the mountain side. He rushes up the side of the mountain and saves her.  It is then that he knows he needs to get closer to her. The problem? She is keeping a secret and doesn't want to get too close to him, only having to leave him eventually.  This story is full of emotion as these two people try to learn to love one another after losing people who have meant the world to them. Tessa wants to love Brian, but doesn't want him to have to watch someone else he loves being taken away by a horrible disease.  She is trying to save his heart, not realizing that she is breaking more by not being there. This story teaches us, that if you love someone, no matter what the future will bring, you have to open your heart and let love in, that no one deserves to be without the one they love.

"Wild Child" Tessa has a heart of gold and a head of neon striped hair. She is there to help any one in need. Brian is a widower with a teenage daughter. He has no time for "romance" and he especially has no time for that little "meddler" Tessa who is discussing things with his daughter that is private! Yet, that "little meddler" keeps creeping into his thoughts and dreams. This is another beautiful story written as only Duke can. There is tension, laughter, angst, passion, you name it!

Before you pick up this book to read, grab a fresh box of tissue and keep it close.  This is an amazing story about some pretty amazing people. Brian Sullivan, his daughter Skylar, and Tessa Daniels are in for quite an emotional ride.  NO SPOILERS!  Just know that this Nice Girl to Love series, which also flows in to the Cactus Creek series, is a must read for anyone who loves the emotional contemporary romance books with ultra sexy alpha men.  Fantastic story written by an equally fantastic author.  This is a book I could read over and over.

Brian finally gets his story! Brian lost his wife to a horrible disease and then he fell in love with his best friend and lost her to his brother! Brian is so hot and sweet and I'm so glad that he finally finds some happiness. He meets Tess who's funny and fiesty. Can Brian and Tessa get over their pasts and move forward together? This is an emotional rollercoaster with laughter and tears. Another winner for Violet!

Wow!  I thought Brian's story ended in Choosing the Right Man.  I was pleasantly surprised that Brian got another story to tell his happy ever after and that this brought the story of the Sullivans full circle.  We briefly met Tessa at the end of the Nice Guy to Love series and their interaction was confrontational without any love loss between them.  When this book starts, it has been a while since they have seen each other, but Tessa is there to once again irritate yet pique Brian's curiosity about her.  Both Brian and Tessa have loved and lost which helps draw them together.  Brian is more open to a short-term relationship a la brother Connor, while Tessa holds a secret that she feels should keep them apart.  They decide a fling is all they can handle.  They, however, never count on falling in love.  Another well written story as the characters struggle in their own lives with Huntingtons Disease.  Ms. Duke educates the reader on this disease while at the same time developing and strengthening the characters as they come to terms with how this disease has impacted their lives. I loved Brian in the Nice Guy series but Abby wasn't right for him.  Her role was to prepare him to be able to open his heart to love again.  Tessa is truly Brian's soul mate.  With his help, Tessa was able to learn that there are no guarantees in life and that she has to live life to the fullest.

ARC Was Given To Blog For An Honest Review Wow, I really enjoyed this story. It is a spinoff from the rest of the series and a pretty short read but it was packed with so much. The story concept had me reeling, I was feeling so sad but at the same time elated. I can’t imagine what Brian must have gone through losing his wife the way he did, and wondering if his daughter could have possibly inherited Huntington’s disease. It is genetic and if you carry the gene then at some point in your life you will begin to be affected and you will die. My heart was in pieces so much of this story. Brian has met Tessa before and they run into each other again. Tessa has had to deal with loss the same as Brian. Tessa also lost two members of her family to this disease so she understands. Tessa’s zest for life is what I loved from this book. She speaks her mind and lives and laughs even after such loss, her love of life is infectious and she seems to teach Brian how to live that way too. They are opposites that attract forcefully and they made me swoon when they were together, Brian is very sexy. I love Brian and his alpha male protectiveness and he is a great father to his daughter. I took something from this story and we have all heard the saying that life is short. Well this book is all about that and we should live each moment to the fullest.  It has the happiest saddest ending of any book I have read. It also had the saddest happiest ending. That last statement you may not understand but you will when you read it. I admit I have not read the other books in this series but I certainly plan to now.

Brian went through a horrible traumatic heartbreaking loss of his wife. With just getting over the fact that the next person he wanted to be with after getting over this loss picked his brother over him, he finds he is always the nice guy. He is thinking that maybe he should take on his brother’s old motto, an affair a month. Tessa would be Brian’s polar opposite. She dresses is crazy fashion, does whatever she feels at any given moment and isn't shy about saying what she thinks. She is what some would call a workaholic also spending any free time helping her friends and volunteering. Tessa is a baker and understands the way Brian feels about the loss of his wife. Brian suggests they have an affair, she agrees hoping her heart doesn't get involved. I completely loved this story. This isn't a simple love story at all. But a story about unconditional love, hope and a future. I cried, laughed and thoroughly smiled through the entire book.

This was the first book of Violet Duke, that I read. The characters fit the story line, Brian and Tessa are well matched. Brian lost his wife Beth to Huntington's Disease and fears the same for his teenage daughter Skylar. Tessa comes across as a fun and carefree, living for the moment kind of girl. Her story is heartbreaking and you can't help but love her. I loved this story so much. It`s an amazing love story about two people who fit perfectly together finding love and happiness. I`ll be definitely reading more of her work!

I was given this book as an ARC for an honest review. I gave this book 5 stars.  This is Brian and Tessa's story.  This is a spin off from the series A nice guy to love Although it is suggested that you read the books before this, it is not required. It can be read as a standalone. I do believe that I enjoyed it that much more though because I had read the other books.  This is a hard review to do without giving too much away but I am going to do my best.  Brian is a man who has lost too much in his lifetime. It is very sad, he lost his first wife to early-onset Huntington’s. And then he lost his second love to his brother. Abby was best friends with Brian through out his whole struggle when losing his first wife, and then she fell in love with is brother. He has lost two amazing relationships in his life, and I don't think he is ready to be hurt again, he has a beautiful daughter, and he is an amazing father. But he is looking for something that will fulfill his life completely.  Tessa was hurt by her first love. He tore out her heart, and she has not been the same since, she is content with doing her job and keeping to herself .. she has lost so many people in her life to this disease also . . Her dad and her sister. She does all she can for volunteering etc, to help out as much as she can.  When these two worlds collide they will not be the same. Can they deny each other the love that they both deserve because of past hurts and life's circumstances?  Go on Brian and Tessa's journey with them, I can't promise you a smooth ride but I can promise you unconditional love. Brian is a one of a kind guy and he knows how to love the right way. And Tessa is right there for him to love.  I loved this book, I enjoyed Violet's other novels about this family, Connor and Abby:) And Brian is just as sweet as Connor. He has a heart of gold and is very protective of what is his. He is a stand up guy who does what is right, and might be looked at as a push over but he is far from that.. With his alpha ways he will have you swooning over him PERIOD.  This story broke my heart. Brian has been through hell in his life. His wife, with Abby, his daughter and now Tessa. I was a cheerleader in his corner routing for him the whole time. There are good things that happen in this book and there are bad things, but they are real. And that is what I liked about it. It is not sugar coated HEA .. it is a real HEA .. So thank you Violet for your amazing book. I read that there is more to come with this town. AND I cannot wait to read it.  <3

** Spoilers Maybe Present ** First off I want to thank the author for providing me with an ARC of this book to read and review for this blog tour <3 Secondly this is the first book for me to read by this author, but let me tell you this it certainly won't be the last. Last but not least, please have your tissues at the ready. This is such an emotional and heartfelt story. From the first page to the last page I was in constant tears. Tessa Daniels;  After loosing her family in ways no other can imagine Tessa has had a hard life. Loosing her sister, her best friend to the JHD (Juvenile Huntington's Disease) opened my eyes. I've only heard little about this disease so reading this book opened my eyes. For those who don't know what HD is let me tell you: Huntington's disease is an inherited disease of the brain that damages certain brain cells. The disease damages some of the nerve cells in the brain, causing deterioration and gradual loss of function of these areas of the brain. This can affect movement, cognition (perception, awareness, thinking, judgement) and behaviour. Early symptoms can include personality changes, mood swings and unusual behaviour, although these are often overlooked and attributed to something else. Huntington's disease was originally called Huntington's chorea, after the Greek word for dancing. This is because the associated involuntary movements of the condition can look like jerky dancing. In the majority of cases, Huntington's disease is caused by an inherited faulty gene. However, in around 3% of cases there is no family history of the disease. Even after loosing her sister and her father Tessa feels like she no-longer has any family. Mother you say? Well she left when Tessa was younger, couldn't cope looking after a sick child, knowing that she would deteriorate and eventually not recognize her, Tessa's mother, wanted out! Brian Sullivan;  After loosing his wife to HD Brian is going through all sorts of emotions, especially with a 50/50 percent chance that his daughter "Skylar" may have the same disease. How much more pain and loss can a man take? You'd think that he was being punished for something unbeknown to him. First his wife and now is daughter... So he decides to take a leap out of his brother's "Connor's" book and take a ride on the "Fling" side....oh and who better to get aquainted with other than the lovely pixie type girl TESSA. I loved the lust and the sexual tension that brews throughout this book between Tessa & Brian "It's simply not reasonable to expect a girl to have a filter with all that steamy-eyes, bicep-popping, talking-like-a-wet-dream-voice-over madness going on!" ~ Tessa "And it you don't stop talking that one day is going to be today - all your work deadlines bedamned. So for the love of God, stop pushing me before you sentence us to an even longer bout of hot, hard, take-you-six-ways-to-Sunday sex." ~ Brian Although there are trying times in this book and a few surprises that I didn't see coming, this is definitely an eye opener and although yes, there is sort of a HEA, its still begs to question of, will it actually be "THE" HEA both Brian and Tessa so gracefully deserve?
