In these tough economic times, many people are losing their jobs¿ or worried that they might. In his new book Fired Up, Wil LaVeist encourages us to have no fear!

Fired Up is a self-help book that reads like a novel- or two. In it, LaVeist tells us his story of being fired from a company that prides itself on being a quality, family-run and family values company, and how he overcame not only the financial crisis that ensued but also the feelings of betrayal. In telling us his story, LaVeist also recounts of the story of the biblical Joseph, who experienced a similar firing from- and at the hands of- his own brothers, and how God lifted him to greatness.

In this book, LaVeist brilliantly reminds us that what man may mean as evil against us, ¿God meant it for good,¿ and he gives readers real, practical advice on how to survive and thrive after being terminated. It¿s a true must-read for employees and employers alike.

I have been on the 'getting fired' side and the 'doing the firing' side of business. Neither are pretty. This book helped me view both situations with a new set of eyes-- more human and thoughtful eyes. The book was so good, I read it twice! Mr. LaVeist takes you on his 'getting fired' journey-- the good, the bad and the ugly-- by including his spiritual insights and life experiences to ultimately end up personally and professionally successful and healed from the stresses of unemployment. I found this to be very helpful and thought provoking book. I strongly recommend FIRED UP to anyone who has been or thinks they are about to be fired. It will help you through he process.

This author really tells you what goes on behind close doors in a person's house who is angry about being fired. I thought I was the only one that felt pain like I did. This guy peels the scabs and heals the wounds. He names names and takes no prisoners.

I had just gotten fired when I received an email about this amazing book. It helped me put everything in perspective, particularly as it aligned my life with Joseph's. God has big plans for us, that we know not of. So, we have to trust Him in His design for our lives. Getting fired or laid-off, or whatever you call it, has always been a wake-up call for me directly from God. I put work before my life, and He is faithful to remind me that He goes in front of work, life, and all things! I thank the Lord, Wil, that He was able to minister to me through you and your Fired Up testimony!
