Chief McGrail has done a wonderful job explaining why it is so important to use the 2 1/2 inch attack line with a smooth-bore nozzle in lieu of the 1 3/4 line. He has done the American fire service long overdue justice in trying to break us out of the culture that is killing so many firefighters across our nation today. That is that we are not USING ENOUGH WATER!! Whether it is operating in high or wide rises equipped with standpipes/sprinklers, large commercial buildings or even the single-family dwelling, we need to step it up. The book is excellent reading full of life-saving information for all departments to adopt and adapt as needed.
