About the Author
David Rhaesa (pronounced Ray-cee) first declared he was going to be a writer sometime in second grade at Heusner elementary school in Salina, Kansas. He studied rhetoric and argumentation at the University of Kansas, Baylor University and the University of Iowa, but didn't begin to write poetry until the early 1990s after a friendship with the late poet Joy Golisch in the Quad Cities. This collection of poems flew out of his brain and onto his fingertips while living in the attic of an old funeral home in Rock Island, Illinois. The house has since burned down. David has performed readings from this collection and other poems at 1012 Marquette in Davenport, Iowa, All Kinds of People coffeehouse in Rock Island, Illinois, Brother Jeff's Cultural Café in 5 Points of Denver, and Ad Astra Books and Coffee in Salina, Kansas. Firewalk Thru Madness is his first collection of poetry. He hopes you enjoy the word journey.
