The best English translation, in my opinion, of the Discourse on Inequality. Rousseau's notes are not suppressed nor are they abridged. The importance he gave them is stressed. The presentation of text and Rousseau's notes, along with notes by Masters, makes all the information accessible for the serious reader. Serious readers return for second readings, at least, and gain something from this great discourse at each reading.
