I love that the author brings traditional ethnic foods to a preschool appropriate book. I use all 6 of her books in our 'mulitcultural' theme and we try some foods from each. I can't tell you how the children of each ethnic backgroud light up to see familiar foods in our book and on our menu!

I was so delighted when I read this title that I now give it to every friend who has a baby. Everyone loves it! The parents like the unusual illustrations, and the little ones love the sound of the strange words. Whether they know sushi or not, all delight in this trip into something new.

My children love this book. The graphics and layout are bold and colorful, and utterly imaginative. Even though my 3-year-old does not understand Japanese and won't touch sushi, she adores this book for its rhythms and seemingly silly words. This is one of her absolute favorites, and she can recite the whole book.

Like the book says, "Someday I'll eat with chopsticks / But today just with my hands." Why should the preschool set be limited to hardened paper stock books with colors, shapes, letters, numbers and animal. Future Foodies need books like this. The graphics are bold and bright, and the rhymes are fun. With "miso in my sippy cup / tofu in my bowl", this book on your cribs will make for tickled ribs
