I think I like Ms. Wright's paranormal series better. This wasn't bad, but just not my cup of tea. There was good tension, the chemistry between the characters was strong and as always with this author a couple of hot steamy parts. It was interesting, but I would have liked it to have been a little longer or maybe it was just something else that didn't catch me. I was almost more intrigued by the tension between the friend and guy that worked in Rush's shop then that between Addison and Rush. B&N bills this as a New Adult and I've often found that I'm just not into that age group anymore. Guess I'm just getting old, tired of the supposed "drama" between young people anymore... Just wanted to tell each of them to get over themselves about the incident that drove them both apart.

I loved this book. The story line was great and I fell in love with Addy and Rush. The chemistry betwen them is off the charts hot. I don't think Rush is really too sure what he's doing or what he wants with Addison. She is head over heals in love with Rush and knows what she wants. I highly recommend this book to everyone. Now I'm off to read shattered ink.

My Take: Well, this short read was quite sexy! I bought this on Amazon as a freebie, because I have a slight fetish for tattooed men. I have to say I was surprised that I got so involved in their story. I immediately bought the second book in the Anthology and I can't wait to read it! Addison and Rush used to be a couple back in high school. Addison humiliated him then and ever since, she's been trying to apologize, but he won't have it. So, Addison goes to see him at a tattoo convention. There she volunteers to get a tattoo, but when Rush sees who his next client is his past and the hurt he felt come back.  Addison wants to apologize, but Rush is setting the rules. He starts her tattoo, but tells her to come to his shop later that night, so he can finish and they can talk. Let's just say that things get quite steamy after he finishes the tattoo. Rush wants to believe that Addison is sincere and he can't help but feel hopeful that they can be together again.  Because this was a short read, I felt like I was getting my head around the story, but I really liked the characters. I sympathized with Addison, because I felt like she was sincere in her apology. Rush was super sexy and I can't wait to get to know him a bit better. I am curious about their past, which I only got a glimpse of. Addison was in foster care as a child and Rush was a really good friend to her. That's how a relationship developed between them. I want to know more about their past, because I think it had a lot to do with why Addison broke up with Rush in the first place.  Overall, I really enjoyed this one. The sexy was...pretty damn sexy. I liked the characters and I like where the story is going. If you are looking for short sexy read, check this out.  Quotes: ~"I've always been crazy about you. You're it for me. Everything. My heart, my guts. My family, my best friend. You're the hottest lover in existence. And you make me feel special, like I matter, like I'm the only one in the world for you."-Loc 944 ~"What now, Rush?" I whisper against his mouth as everyone hoots and catcalls around us. "What do we do now?" He grins, wicked and sexy. "Let's start with and epic kiss, baby and see where we go from there."-Loc 958

She humiliated him in high school.  Now, 5 years later, she has the opportunity to say how sorry she is.   Phew!  What a scorcher!  Rush and Addison are burning up the pages of this book.  Fantastic short read!   I can't wait to read the next installment of the Wicked Ink Chronicles.

Gotta love bad boys with a heart for only one woman! Yeah, it's short, but it's a complete story start to finish. Sex scenes were pretty long and explicit, but i was the romance and one true love that made it enjoyable to read for me.

I'll be totally honest and say that going into this novella, I had no idea what to expect. I didn't even read the blurb. I just knew that is was about a sexy tattoo artist and Laura Wright has never disappointed. First Ink just reinforces my opinion of this talented writer, and is just the beginning of what promises to be a stunning new series.  Novella's only work for me if there is a past history between the couples and you can still feel that connection through the pages. First Ink succeeded masterfully in this. Laura Wright works her magic by packing in insane amounts of angst, lust, chemistry and need into a short eighty pages or so giving this novella a feeling of fullness but still leaving you craving for more.  Addison embarrassed and betrayed the boy she loved as a teenager and has regretted it every day since. Five years and numerous un-returned correspondences later, she finally gets a chance at redemption. But will Rush ever be able to forgive her? And will forgiveness be enough for Addison in the end? Written in first person, the story is told from both Addison and Rush's point of view. The transition between characters was smooth and enthralling. Addison made her mistakes, as every young person does, and at the introduction to her character I wasn't quite sure how to take her. She seemed a little up tight to be a girl from the wrong side of the tracks in love with a bad boy tattoo artist, but as her character quickly developed I enjoyed her more and more with each page. Rush, what to say about him? A bad boy tattooed sex magnetic with a big squishy heart covers it well I think. You can't help but fall in love with him right from the start.  Regret, betrayal, fear, anguish, desire...First Ink is an emotionally packed novella that will hook you hard. I can't wait until I can get my hands on the follow-up to Rush and Addison's story in Shattered Ink! A short and sexy new adult contemporary romance that is sure to heat up your day!

First Ink Laura Wright “Get you sweet ass over here” OMG where do I start without giving the entire story away. I totally fell in love with Rush and Addison totally. A true high school sweet heart story. Rush and Addison were high school sweet hearts and if this story was paranormal you could say true mates LOL. But like all seventeen year olds you tend to make bad choices. Addison’s bad choice humiliated her best friend, and her soul mate, and Rush left his town and headed to New York. Shortly after the incident (next day) Addison tried to reach out to Rush only to find out he left. For five long years they both struggled to move on without succeeding. Addison made several more attempts to contact Rush, even setting up tattoo appointments that he would not take. She finally decided to confront Rush face to face. So with her best friend Lisa they leave L.A. and head for Vegas to a tattoo convention where Rush is performing. This is where I stop; I don’t want to spoil this story. I loved the way Laura wrote in the POV’s of Rush and Addy, the story ran smoothly and easily. The chemistry between these two was amazing, you literally felt the love they had for one another. Although the story was short I absolutely loved the ending. I’m hoping we’ll see more of Rush and Addison, and I’m really really curious as to what actually happened between Lisa and Vincent. I give this love story 5* and can’t wait for more.

This was like 50 pages long and disgusting to read. Wish I could get my money back
