This is such a unique book. I've never seen angels, demons, or the afterlife handled in quite the same way before. I guess it shouldn't be a surprise since Andrew's an angel, but he's just so sweet and perfect. Thankfully he still has a couple of flaws to keep him likeable. Emily is just completely kick-ass. She's smart, sassy, strong, and funny. She can take care of herself, but she understands her limitations and is willing to ask for and accept help when she needs it. The two of them together make a formidable demon hunting team. I look forward to seeing how they take down their future targets. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
Mary Abshire is a master at world building! This first book in the series quickly draws a reader in to a world where angels and demons walk the earth and things aren't always what they seem. Despite the reason that Andrew is sent back to earth, there is an endearing innocence about him. Emily isn't innocent, but her good heart shows in the things she does after finding Andrew in a most unusual way. This page turner hooked me and I'm excited to see what's next for this pair.
