About the Author

Susanne Dietze began writing love stories in high school, casting her friends in the starring roles. Today, she's the award-winning author of a dozen new and upcoming historical romances who's seen her work on the ECPA and Publisher's Weekly Bestseller Lists for Inspirational Fiction. Married to a pastor and the mom of two, Susanne lives in California and enjoys fancy-schmancy tea parties, the beach, and curling up on the couch with a costume drama and a plate of nachos.  You can visit her online at www.susannedietze.com and subscribe to her newsletters at http://eepurl.com/bieza5.

Cynthia Hickey grew up in a family of storytellers and moved around the country a lot as an army brat. Her desire is to write about real, but flawed characters in a wholesome way that her seven children and five grandchildren can all be proud of. She and her husband live in Arizona where Cynthia is a full-time writer.

Marcia Gruver’s southern roots lend touches of humor and threads of faith to her writing. Look for both in her Texas Fortunes and Backwoods Brides series. When she’s not perched behind a keyboard, you’ll find her clutching a game system controller or riding shotgun on long drives in the Texas Hill Country. Lifelong Texans, Marcia and her husband Lee have five children. Collectively, this motley crew has graced them with a dozen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter—so far.

ECPA-bestselling author Carrie Fancett Pagels, Ph.D., is the award-winning author of over a dozen Christian historical romances. Twenty-five years as a psychologist didn't "cure" her overactive imagination! A self-professed “history geek,” she resides with her family in the Historic Triangle of Virginia but grew up as a “Yooper” in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Carrie loves to read, bake, bead, and travel – but not all at the same time! You can connect with her at www.CarrieFancettPagels.com.

A lifelong reader, Connie began creating stories by the time she was ten. Her office manager and writing muse is a cat, but she’s never more than a phone call or email away from her critique partners. She enjoys gardening and quilting, but one of her favorite pastimes is browsing antique shops where story ideas often take root in her imagination. Connie has been a member of American Christian Fiction Writers since 2000.

Jennifer Uhlarik discovered the western genre as a preteen, when she swiped the only “horse” book she found on her older brother’s bookshelf. A new love was born. Across the next ten years, she devoured Louis L’Amour westerns and fell in love with the genre. In college at the University of Tampa, she began penning her own story of the Old West. Armed with a BA in writing, she has won five writing competitions and was a finalist in two others. In addition to writing, she has held jobs as a private business owner, a schoolteacher, a marketing director, and her favorite—a full-time homemaker. Jennifer is active in American Christian Fiction Writers and is a lifetime member of the Florida Writers Association. She lives near Tampa, Florida, with her husband, teenage son, and four fur children.

I know I've said it before, but I love the collections books. Each story is a quick read and there are always some of my favorite authors, I then get introduced to some new authors as well. I enjoyed all of the stories, of course some some more than others but once I got into the stories that I wasn't enjoying at first, I found they were enjoyable reads also. Grab a copy and see if you enjoy it too!

First Love Forever Romance Collection Is 9 Novella's and boy are they fantastic. They are about re connection of love, marriage of convenience, slavery and the Civil War and the separation from that, hesitation in love, dual love( but of what you asked? That you have to find out) , love crashing in, forgiveness and learning to trust again, saving someone you love from something bad( What you asked? Again that is something you have to find out - it is heartbreaking ), A serious disease and love that comes from trying to heal. All of these are incredible and emotional the most of all full of Faith in CHRIST. I received a copy of this book from the Publisher and Netgalley; all of the opinions expressed in this review are all my own. if you would like to read more of my Christian book reviews go to christianlybookreviewers.blogspot.com - look forward to seeing you there.

What I loved: I particularly loved Heartfelt Echoes, Lighter than Air, and After the Ball. Each story had its own merit, and who doesn't love with those first crushes become long-lasting relationships that hold through the test of time. Favorite Character: I really loved Travis and Millie from Jennifer Uhlarik's story Heartfelt Echoes. The obstacles they overcome and the relationship they share makes my heart swoon. Who would like this:  Anyone who likes quick historical romance reads. Each story took me a little over an hour to read, which made the weeks when I didn't have time for a full-on book at least bearable.  Rating and Why: I gave this a three-and-a-half star rating because while I did really enjoy several of the stories, there were also two that I really just did not enjoy at all. And in a rare exception, I completely skimmed one and never read the whole story. With all collections, you have a mix of writing styles and skill levels, but this one had more than I am accustomed to as far as did not appeal to me.  Reading is completely subjective so you may disagree once you dive in. I do still recommend it, if only for the few mentioned in What I Love.  Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book from the publisher/author. I was in no way required to leave a review, and the above review is my honest opinion.

The first story is First Things First by Susanne Dietze. This story grabbed my attention from the very start. Georgie Bridge loved Ward Harper. He left for five years and she she thought she would never see him again. Then life throws a curve. Ward returns to town as a lawyer opposing her father. Would they get together. You will have to read the book to find out. I loved everything thing about this story. The second is a Most Reluctant Bride by Cynthia Hickey. This was another great story that had me from the beginning. Maggie and Zach Colton marry to protect her reputation and each thought it was just a marriage of convenience, but could there be true love for both. I fell in love with these characters. The third is Weeping Willow by Marcia Gruver. This story takes place during the Civil War, This was a good story as well. It was well written. The fourth is His Anchor by Carrie Fancett Pagels. This was another story that had my attention from the very start. This one takes place on Mackinac Island, Michigan in 1894. I loved these characters. This story also takes place around the time of another book by Carrie Pagels. My Heart Belongs on Mackinac Island. The two stories work great side by side. I loved this one so much. I knew the writing would be great. The characters are well developed. The fifth is After the Ball by Martha Rogers. It was a fun story. Based on a young man deciding if he wanted to be a wealthy oil man or a rancher. I fell in love with these characters. The sixth is Lighter Than Air by Lorna Seilstad. This one has to do do with a hot air balloon and a boarding school. It is well written The seventh is In Due Season by Connie Stevens. A great story of forgiveness. The eighth is Heartfelt Echoes by Jennifer Uhlarik, This story takes place in Virginia City, Nevada. It is also a wonderful story. The last is Prescription for Love by Erica Vetsch. Another great story. This one about a doctor and nurse getting a second chance at Love.

What is sweeter than a first love? Finding them again and still feeling it! I liked that this collection covered men and women. I enjoyed this selection of love stories and the diversity of this collection. I was gifted a copy by one of the authors and my honest opinion and review is voluntary…

Imagine my surprise when a package from Barnes and Noble arrived at my door with this beautiful book inside. I was very, happy and very thankful to the friend who sent it to me. First Love Forever contains 9 wonderfully written stories. Each features a couple that has been separated for varying reasons, often for many years. They are also reunited in some very unique circumstances. It was a roller-coaster of emotion as I read each story. A few had some very suspenseful moments. Seeing how these couples deal with the love they still feel for each other really tugged at my heartstrings. I loved each novella in this book, they are all 5 Star reads! I highly recommend this collection to anyone who loves clean, historical romance.

Once again, a couple of favorite authors bring lovely stories to life with engaging plots, fleshed out characters, and vivid scenery. Dietze and Pagels routinely contribute to these collections and I was pleased with the charm and charisma of their novellas. All of the stories in this collection have a solid faith theme and are enjoyable. I think fans of historical fiction will be happy to while away a few hours immersed in First Love Forever Romance Collection. I was provided an electronic copy of the book by the publisher through Netgalley with no expectation of a positive review. No compensation has been received.

I found this to be another great collection of short stories from Barbour Publishing. As the publishers tell us in the description, this is a collection of nine love stories of first loves rekindled. Your first love, as well as your first kiss is not easily forgotten. The stories all take place from the late 1800's through 1910. If you are familiar with any of the nine featured authors, you know you are in for an exciting experience. Each novella contained a strong female character from various backgrounds, many very humble beginnings. Each heroine has her own obstacle and dilemma she must deal with or overcome. The authors all add their unique style of writing which adds variances to the novellas. I enjoyed the historical factor and the faith based theme throughout each story. One of my favorites would be Weeping Willow by Marcia Gruver. A story about the American Civil War and a plantation in Virginia. It covered a longer time period than some of the other stories. It also was a very difficult time in history. Marcia's writing and characters were all very strong. It was evident in the writing that a lot of research was done covering this time period. You may like some stories better than others as I did. But I recommend this collections of Historical Romances. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing through NetGalley, Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
