Flammable Felony by Sophia Sapphire

This fast-paced adventure begins when Jared sets out to help a former high school acquaintance, Teresa, investigate the actual circumstances around her grandmother's spontaneous combustion death. Her Forensic science training throws her in Jared's path, where his police academy training could be valuable. Has his willingness to help his old school crush only put her in more danger? The more they work together, the more questions they find. Who has been following them and why? Why is Teresa seeing white flashes of light in her apartment and who is the intruder leaving bizarre notes on her den desk? Why are the intruder's fingerprints impossible to decipher? The closer they come to exposing the truth, the closer they come to losing their lives.

This book was a fun little read! It was very fast paced, and only took a little over an hour to read. At times, I thought it was slightly cheesy, but in a good way. The alien element in what I thought was just going to be a book that focused on the sciency side of investigations made me laugh, particularly since the aliens were the classic short, gray-skinned fellows. I also liked that the aliens we saw were friendly, actually working against another band of aliens who regularly abducted humans. The ending was happy for everyone, and while I'd guess this book is meant for younger audiences, I think all ages would enjoy it. Note: I received this book for free from Goodreads Giveaways.
