Overview

After a ten-year leave, Kathryn Jacobs has been invited back to the N.T.S.B to investigate a series of unexplained airline crashes. But her husband, Captain Bill Jacobs, has his concerns. While her twin daughters are off at camp, and Bill is actively campaigning for the Pilot Union Presidency, Kathryn secretly begins her investigation. What she learns will shock the nation.

Flight For Control is a thriller that reads like a mystery. But to Kathryn, there is no mystery on the condition of the airline industry-it's broken. Planes are crashing. Pensions are lost. Pilots are financially and emotionally bankrupt due to fatigue, furloughs, and loss of seniority.

It's time that someone takes control before it's too late-unless it already is.

Your life is in your pilot's hands. Do you know who's flying your plane?

Petitt takes a brilliant, and utterly frightening concept and weaves a story that will shake you to your core. With all the action, intrigue, and fantastic characters, it was hard not to devour this novel in one sitting. The thriller genre has an outstanding new female author in its midst. I look forward to many more novels from her.

Flight for Control is a heart-pounding aviation thriller that incorporates fun and humor in the broader story, too. The friendships among the women in the book are great, and key to the plot, along with shocking behavior and unsettling revelations by other characters. I think this book will appeal to both men and women. Petitt is a long-time pilot who knows what she's talking about in the world of commercial aviation. You will stay up late reading this book (but you might not want to do that while you're a passenger on an airplane)

Karlene Petitt has used her experience as an international airline pilot and skill as a writer to portray the reality we are living with the aviation industry. Petitt served the most delicious piece of literary chocolate covered cheesecake that I have ever devoured. I am looking forward to many more servings.

The premise may, at first glance, seem a little over the top but when you stop & think about it while looking at what is actually happening in corporations, unions & politics (without even considering the aviation angle) then suddenly it's not that impossible to imagine this happening.A thriller with enough twists, turns & inter-relating plots to keep you wondering how it'll turn out right the way through to the end. Well worth reading & definitely worth considering next time you decide to buy your ticket based primarily on the "race-to-the-bottom" cheapest-option!
